Hulang getting 6-2 and berserk, alongside all the new midfield camo additions to IA, that's cool. Raveneye in torchlight is holomask so Daoying is distinct again. How do the cranes look?
They did nothing about the Hulangs biggest weakness of easily being hacked. But the additions are nice. The EMitter is better than grenades. The minelayer with AP Mines I think is more useful than the Koalas. It can't be pared with Liberto to do a shell game. The Crane Agents seem great but considering everyone is getting stuff It's hard to tell if it's great or the same. Gained Combat Instinct, 6-2 move, Dodge +3" (I haven't seen that much yet on others). AP Spitfire. I'm not sure I'd take one if I can take Adil who's only 2pts more and gains Continuous Dmg, Sensor, Deactivator, Disco, and Warhorse. On another subject, I just saw how the E/Mitter and E/M Carbine changed. Both are PS7 and Burst 2. The Carbine is +3 0-16" then -3 to 24" and -6 to 40. The E/Mitter has been totally changed: -3 0-8, 0 to 16, +3 to 32, 0 to 48. It doesn't change my mind on the Silvers Snakes. They mostly have the short ranged carbines. It does change my mind on the Pheasant who have E/Mitters. I'm also now not to into the Feiquan as I was. You have to get very close for optimal EC range.
As far as I can tell, a Crane's a good idea over Adil if you need Anti-Materiel CC or if you're up against Impersonators- B2 Nanopulsers or that top-grade CC stat and MA3 backed with Combat Instinct and solid durability have a fair chance of just beating a Fiday or Speculo.
I agree, but on the hacking front we also have one new rising (falling? ;) ) star: the Liu Xing, who got a firewall -6 hacking device and comes at a bargain price of 30 pts.
Kanren in ISS now seem really solid! Decoy 2 and Mimetism -6, combined with the normal Hacker getting Cybermask as well, can give them some serious presence.
I figure the Hulang is designed to require camo buddies clear the way of hackers.... but those power armor camo zhencha can also start doing damage if they've already removed hacking obstacles... so I wonder how to build aroundHulang & Krit because they look cool. Dang you can do... Daoying x1 Liberto x1 Gudan x2 Zhencha minelayer x4 Hac Tao x1 All starting in camo state and still have 66pts to fill out orders, or get a haidao sniper with two cheerleaders. I'm liking the availability of specialized power armor in Yu Jing. --- I was kitbashing a sword model into a Kanren, that they're "just" efficient gunfighters now... will see what models to use. How should they be used in N5 ISS? Have folks found the zhanying pheasant xi zhuang and crane or hsien fireteam is still solid at covering each other's weakness and stealthing around? .... tac aware plus jump 8" is a cooool combo for the Shang Ji rooftop pain train.
It's a bit confusing there's all of these different things to fight hacking. Tinbot, ECM, and now just a plain Firewall. But Liu Xing is awesome. I really want to love the Hulang. The figures are fantastic looking. But I just can't take him over Zhencha. Especially now that Zhencha are more awesome. I might try the Hulang in Dashat. I think I had slightly more luck with him there with Liberto. But then again, IA and vYJ have Libby too. I'm not sure how I feel about Kanren yet. I liked the holoprojector for getting rid of mines. I'm really glad he now has D-Charges! I think they should all have madtraps as well. Now they will never be used because the one that has them is not a specialist and is so short ranged with just an SMG.
Speaking of hackers, Haidao now has BTS3 and a Pitcher! I keep noticing new things. Edit: and D-Charges! He's going to be great with Cybermask.
Shortly before N3 was ending, YJ finally received its first jammer troop (Tian Gou). Then N4 entered, and jammers were nerfed. Shortly before N4 was ending, YJ finally received its first pitcher troop (Dokkebi). Then N5 entered, and pitchers were nerfed. I`m beginning to see a pattern here :-P
Time will tell of course but, I think that stealth with restricted access to sixth sense hackers, does help.
I think I also did this with N4. A list of all the lt. for vYJ. I’ll probably do the same with hackers and others. I think the Daoying is still one of the best for the points. It’s more expensive now and must be a hacker but it’s still pretty good. I think it’s the best of the “cheap” Lt. Zhanying is not bad due Sixth Sense, Madtraps, and can’t be isolated. Wow there’s a big jump in points after that. 28pt Daoying to 42pt Mowang. Of the more expensive Lt. I think it might depend on the mission. Sunny is still too expensive for my taste. Hsien marksman rifle is a favorite in ISS. For vYJ fire teams, the only one that can pure duo is the Shang Ji APHMG. But two SJ starts getting expensive and I wouldn’t want to use him without CoC. Well as a reactive, one needs to work on the defenses, as I said time will tell, I do not think IA will be on the immediate armies to play, but I am going to see the reports with them and hopefully face them if the local Yu Jing do not go completely ISS crazy.
What is your opinion for the Yan Huo? I think Is very good now. Put the neurocinetics missile launcher one with lunah and two long ya are too much points invest in aro for you? Better the Hrmc one?
I don't mind since it happened to others as well. But they also now have a BS ATK -3 with combi PS6. Also he's going to be a part of a team where others are more likely to do the killing. So Frenzy wont activate often. I think they are much better. Imm ARM is great. Religious kinda sucks since you now need to roll if you do want to move away. A bit of an over correction. Warhorse is great too. But I think they are better in Vanilla than in IA. They are still very expensive in an expensive force. He also no longer has a haris on his own. You must have at least one Zuyong or Shang Ji. Before you could have two of them and a Pango FTO or even one and two Pangos. However at Zuyong BSG E/Mitter and two YH will be hell to deal with!

Here's my attempt at Duo and haris in Vanilla. It was a harder than I thought it would be. You can't have many good pure teams. There's only Zuyong, Shang Ji, Shaolin and Sulyong.
