I don't have the MI Adil model. But now I suddenly want one to use as proxy. Is that weird? Also, kinda strange IS only has AVA1 Yaokong Chaiyi whereas the other sectorials have AVA2. Wouldn't a secret service need more messenger bots?
At first MI was in WB and HI in ISS - they should keep it that way but the put both in both maybe to encurage more people to buy the comic box. Its a shame they axe MI Adil (I painted him at release, now you have to fear that a mini is out of use, when you keep it two years and paint them later ..). I have both. And Pheasants? what about BS-3 or warhorse or some disco balls ? ... just kidding ... At the moment I like TA & RF. Sniper or Hacker do not pair good with CoC. I have both. Maybe to prevent more cheap order besides Kuangs.
Oh yes, they should. I doubt, comic book would see that good because of that. I thought, N5 would bring more stable picture of sectorials and their fluff. Less mercenaries, only some of the named characters in the list. Sadly, we see, like almost nothing is going to change! Even their vanilla previews could be filled with some characters+. For what? I dont have much hopes for 16th when we would get a builder, but I am still waiting. Anyway we had a good Stargrave game with friends yesterday. Our campaing was in the world of infinity. Space station zero is good too. So, look at another systems to use Adil (may be even Captain Adil!). Good miniatures and your work should not be shelved. (but of course we want normal infinity game and our goods in it working)

It's up! And... Gudan are worse than I thought they'd be! FD +4" I called it! One use camo versions, Uselessly short ranged weapons (again I called it!). Warhorse good but a bit useless on them. Mountain terrain. Great if anyone ever used terrain rules. NOT A SINGLE SPECIALIST. These guys are so bad! Fire team with Zhanshi but Zhanshi are now cheaper! I'll just never use these guys. It's going to take a long time for me to think of them as good. Well I got to say I'm very disappointed in the new troops but so far I'm liking the old. I'll write up more later but I had to get that off my chest when I first saw them.
Shang-jis have lost paramedic but everyone is tac aware! And cheaper by 4pts across the board. Woohoooo! I'm one happy IA player now! And they got AP CCWs too, while their chaincolt transformed into the strange new "boarding pistol" (DAM13 normal pistol with chain colt firemode)
Great news on abolishing the CC Tax on Zhansis!! In other news: - where did the sniper Daoying sniper profile go? - Yan Huos found their religion, which makes them much better at ARO duty - Sun Tze got a Vulcan Shotgun and counterinteligence, which is amazing :) - Kunag Shis now cost 6 pts :( - Haidaos go 3 BTS, which is a huge improvment My first impressions are quite positive, lets see the N5 rules will look like :)
Daoying does NOT have a sniper in Vanilla. Also, the only Lt. is the 28pt .5swc hacker. But still has +1 Order. Well that sucks. Boarding Pistol is the Chain colt now. It has a template mode and hit mode.
Sorry I looked her up in IA, there she still has everything. Chaincolt still exists (hollowmen) the Boarding pistol is the colt plus a ps7 / dam13 pistol too. And pistols can't be used in melee anymore (except a select few).
Fireteam bonus are dependent of the number of same-named troops. Vanilla can only have two duo and 1 haris. The only teams in vanilla that can gain any bonus beyond movement are: Zuyong, Shang JI, Sulyong. there are still some great combos though. Any tinbot+hacker is good. Any other HI with Tinbot. Gujia or Blue Wolf with a Shaolin! TAG+Krit or Haidao ENG. TAG+Tinbot For a Haris there's some great options. Zuyong tinbot+Dokkaebi+?, Krit+Dokkaebi+?
This is a rough opinion on some troops in Vanilla and can change as I learn more. Zhanshi: better with pt reduction Zhashi Yisheng: Still sucks. Went down a point but still the only doctor in YJ and AVA1! Gudan: Suck. Liberto: good we still get him! Kuang Shi: Ok. Gained Dodge+3 but went up a point. BSG went down in points and a possible choice. Lunah: still good Mech-Engineer: ok. Still only AVA1 but has some new options at least. Qishi: Meh. He’s cheap and a specialist but very squishy. I guess if I have points I’d take it. Zhanying: Good. Lost BI but now immune to EM and now cheaper. Doaying: Ok Vanilla. Lost sniper and basic lt. in Vanilla but still a good Lt. Choice. Hundun: good. Went down in points Pheasant: Still kinda sucks. Sulyong: Same as before and a bit meh Silver Snakes: Not good Tigers: Great. Now cheaper and D-charges! Only one guy Bixie: Still good but expensive! Daofei: Good. Lost BSG , but gained AP spitfire and better damage MR. Went down a few points Dokkaebi: already good and better with point change. Sadly Mk12 is now .5 SWC
I honestly have no idea what people are on about regarding the Gudan. I love it and can definitely see some list builds I'll include them in. Cheap filler Zhanshi core or a camo deterrent are great applications for its low price. Silver Snakes look good, too. I swear, the salt mines never run dry when it comes to Yu Jing.
No it's just me that doesn't like either. Others have not said much so I don't think you can call it a salt mine if one person says they don't like them. I just don't think either are good and don't add anything to YJ. You do you. Go ahead and try them out. I'm only disappointed with them. However I'm liking some of the changes to the existing stuff and I really like the Long Wang. Though it's looking like a few are still disappointing as well.
i just found the only Hac Tao available to WB is the hacker. An upgrade of Trinity at least but still it would have been nice to have the HMG.
Could have sworn I saw prior chatter on the Gudan's and Silver Snakes negatively somewhere, so poor memory probably distorted overall perceptions.
Gudan is a brilliant cheerleader - and that's its pice point, cheerleader. Amazing, and ava3, and warhorse, so they allow you to be a bit spicy with your LT pick. Hac is amazing, and our best hacker now. Dao Fei has returned a god, with +1phys, -4pts, AP spitfire and specop, honestly I always like the chap but now he just screams to be taken. WB can do a whoops all camo and monks list and it would actually be great.
Finally, quite happy to see dokk catch a little nerf, it's still great. Whitebanner look really fun now.
