Feels like an extra spit in the face that they released Diggers (and Triphammer too) just a few months before removing them from everywhere and killing StarCo. WTS Diggers btw.
I don't buy miniatures because of the rules. Many other people don't buy miniatures because of the rules. Don't overgeneralize.
I should just mute you, what's the point of even saying this? I'm sure there are people who buy cars just to have them on display. I'm still going to be pissed if Toyota disables my brakes one day
Sure buddy, mute everyone you don't agree with, that's how you debate and exchange ideas. And you didn't even understand my message correctly. Read again and think, calmly. I do use my miniatures to play Infinity, exclusively. BUT, when I'm buying a mini, I'm not buying it because of its rules. I'm buying it because it looks cool. The profile it was supposed to be played with disappears or gets worse? I don't care, I just use it to picture another profile. And that's also what countless people are doing. So again, when you are saying "People buy miniatures because of the rules", it's an overgeneralization. And it's just wrong, like your loosy Toyota comparison (wtf was that?).
Tournament gamers are the main buyers of miniatures for the rules. In this case it’s not an overgeneralisation. The majority of gamers who don’t play in tournament may or may not buy the miniatures for their rules and in these cases it would be an overgeneralisation. With respect, your responses to people across the forum come across as confrontational which is why users like @Jim the third are saying they’d prefer to block you rather than engage you in debate. You’d get more replies and discussion if you argued your point instead of using terms like “buddy” and asking people to “calm down”. For my part I do both. Depending on the game I may look at rules, building my army based on those rules and buy the appropriate minis. With other games (Infinity was guilty of this as was dystopian wars) I bought based on how cool it looked.
Once again, we have frustratingly little information how the infinity buyers stratify in terms of purpose for which they buy their miniatures. So it will be great if we do not assume everybody behaves like us. It is, however, safe to assume that the game itself is a major incentive for significant amount of the player base and that proxying does not appeal to a significant amount of them.
Infinity players doing tournament being a minority of the players, I feel it's then fair to tell someone saying "People buy miniatures because of the rules" to stop overgeneralizing. My initial message to @Jim the third was: Please, explain to me how it is confrontational and how it's not "arguing my point". He is the one who agressively answered "I should just mute you" for litteraly no reason. But I'm the bad guy here for asking him to chill after that?
I’ve explained how you’re being aggressive in my previous post. You keep using terms like “buddy” and then telling people that they’re flat out wrong and to “chill out”. Telling somebody instead of asking them is confrontational by its very nature. It’s a command. You’d be better served by putting forth your argument (as you did above to me just now in respect to over generalising) than in replying in terms that make people respond to you the way that @Jim the third did. If you continue then yes, there will be people that see you, if not as the “bad guy” then at least as an antagonist. I may disagree with your argument, I may agree. It’s better to have a discussion. In the above case I was unaware we were talking solely about infinity miniatures. I thought it was minis in general which is why I explained that I buy for both reasons. If we’re solely talking infinity then I will certainly stipulate that most players I know don’t use the rules to purchase their miniatures and it may indeed be an overgeneralisation in this regard to state that rules play a part. I went rule of cool the whole way, game rules be damned. My first mini was the N2 lasiq with viral rifle. As @UpirLihi stated above though, Which is a very true statement. I know people who indeed use the game to buy their miniatures and who don’t like to proxy. As I’ve said in previous posts at the start of the news of N5, many of these have left our player group and are sadly unlikely to return anytime soon.
No, I'm sorry to insist, you didn't explain how my message to Jim The Third "I don't buy miniatures because of the rules. Many other people don't buy miniatures because of the rules. Don't overgeneralize.", which was my very first message to him, was aggressive. Yes, indeed. After he suggested to mute me for no reason. Again, how am I the confrontational bad guy here? That's crazy, just reread the thread and please, don't invert the roles. Also, saying that "(implicitely all) people are buying minis for the rules" is wrong is just a fact. Is it not allowed anymore to state facts? And yes, I am often aggressive and sarcastic towards some users I consider toxic, who exhibit constant negativity and bad faith. Guilty on that one, and I won't apologize for it.
Then on that last note where you state your behaviour to certain posters on these forums I must ask, what you expect to gain by it? If you want people to engage you in conversation and debate you cannot then be surprised when instead they state that they intend to block you rather than attempt to speak to you. You certainly can state facts, and I apologise here if I mistook that part of your conversation for something other than that. I think it’s more the way in which you do so that matters. My point, which I feel has been missed is that if you want people to talk to you instead of block you, then speak to them as you would wish to be spoken to. You are indeed free to be as aggressive and sarcastic as you like to those you deem toxic. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s not. Just don’t be surprised when others decide not to interact with you. Which would be a shame as though you can be, in your own words; aggressive and sarcastic to some, you certainly have a capacity for debate which I would like to see more of on these forums. Especially since these forums appear to be in threat of being abandoned in favour of others like Discord. Now, on the subject of the thread; can someone please tell me exactly what I missed during my absence? The N4 army doesn’t seem to have fully updated yet for me. I’ll keep trying but as yet cannot see all the units that have changed or gone and I’d very much like to know. Edited due to my own combative nature. There’s no need for it.
Is there a list of discontinued models anywhere? I don't see Boarding Action Sheskiin, so I assume discontinued.
Oh, there is nothing to gain by it. However, it's not a reason to just let them spread their negativity and toxicity freely. Because moderation is unable, for years, to keep things under control, I guess that's unavoidable. How many times do I have to repeat it? I engaged Jim in a very civil and certainly not aggressive manner. He responded aggressively. I told him to chill. That's it. I don't understand why we are still debating this, the thread's history just corroborate what I'm saying. Again, I stated a fact in a very civil manner, saying that the claim "people buy the minis for the rules" was an overexaggeration. I'm not responsible if someone cannot bear being contradicted and would choose to mute me rather than to just say "you are right, not every player buy the minis for the rules". I first spoke to Jim as I would wish to be spoken, in a perfectly civil and not aggressive manner, for the eleventh time. When he became aggressive for no reason, I changed my tone accordingly. I'm not exactly into the "turn the other cheek" thing. I don't particularly try to be funny. Just to point out mistakes, bad faith and whineries when I feel it's necessary. It's just less boring (to me) to do it by mocking the culprits with a long history on the matter. What I'm surprised about is when others decide not to interact with me for absolutely no valid reason like Jim (because sorry, I don't consider proving someone wrong a valid reason to being muted. That would be very... hum... childish). P.S: because we are 100% off-topic, let's continue: how hyped are you by the TW4 trailer?
Considering that I’ve just finished my twelfth playthrough of the third game… (don’t judge me, time well wasted and I had the flu) very. I’m super hyped. I’ve checked the trailer out way too many times today alone. I’ll probably be waiting another 4 years before it drops but playing as Ciri with full witcher abilities… damn. Going to be overpowered from the get go. It looks sweet. Really looking forward to it. I’d love to know if there’s going to be more adaptation of the elder blood story from the books in the game and if we’ll visit new worlds. It can’t get here fast enough. What do you think of the trailer?
Same, same, same, super hyped! I'm 100% sure each year to wait will be worth it when it'll finally be out. With the videogame industry, you never know if you'll be disappointed or not, and often you are. CDProjekt doesn't disappoint (even if it can take time like with CP2077).
