I know. Thats why I ask him. I still not so overwhelmed by Discos that I plan to send my Vargar over the field, Discoballing their way and hopfully only meet visored troops. Both feauters will be useful. But with Disco you need to deploy a lot of Balls and Albedo still will only work vs MSV. But we will see how SWF will turn out in N5.
It depends on the local meta of course, but the proliferation of MSVs means there is usually an MSV target to oppress. SWF has enough mimetism troops that if the enemy deploys MSV troops you can use the Vargars to deal with them and clear the way for the Mimetism troops, if they do not the mimetism troops can function as normal, though, personally, I usually find a spot for a Vargar Haris in my lists their weapon loadouts and Super Jump are worth it for me.
Let us hope it can dethrone Tikbalang as a king of MO TAG game, or at least make a decent attempt at it. To it's credit, NCO is great here because you never want to disclose your LT, doubly so in MO, and having a Teuton NCO in each and every list quickly becomes tedious.
I hope that we never hear about Pano having boring or not impressive characters ever again. She is crazy and allow you to bring even more big guns. Wow!
I was the one always voicing that argument and I'm happy to say that she's awesome and a half. Additionally, new Jump/Super-Jump rules look very good for the Seraph, its mobility will be amazing.
I think people in N5 will really need to think if lynchpin models are worth it. There will be so many options to assassinate specific models. I am all for that.
I will not call a BS 12 plasma crbine, even with X-Visor, amazing by PanO standards. She is good at a lot of things, but not amazing. The key selling points to me here are a Nanoscreen, Specialist and Booty. Whatever she will end up pulling from that Booty will determine is she worth the price of middle-ranged knight or not. She is jack of all trades, master of none, which is still better than a master of one. Same applies here. I do not see her as amazing, but rather as a solid pick. She is not for every game, but she can come in every third generic PanO list for sure. Depends on a linchpin model. If my linchpin model is three Crosiers with multi snipers, who just insert themselves into the core link as they die, I have plenty of them. If, by linchpin you mean a 50+ HI which can be stopped in it's tracks by a mirriad of reasons and can not do jack through smoke, then you are right. We need to see the list construction rules. With the opened up mobility and lethality in Infinity in general, overinvest in a Pain Train style list can cost you the game, when those expensive troopers begin to fall. All in all, I am looking forward to the new edition with open mind and the sky is most deffinitely not falling in PanOceania.
Currently, she is only known Plasma carbine in PanO. She also has the only known nanoscreen in Pano. She is also gives +1 SWC. She is not an auto-include, but she is a great addition. She is the most unique PanO character that CB has added for a while. A true toolbox who is a specialist, unique weapons and equipment, and boosts the army. To me, that makes her amazing.
Yup. When Dire Foes got released it felt like other factions got the fun, toolbox characters, while PanO ones were very plain. Now this changes, she is exactly the kind of toolbox unit I enjoy having access to (if on a different power level than Dire Foes characters ofc). She's pricy, but will make a good CQB problem solver, while providing more SWC for fielding bigger guns, and an additional order to boot.
Exactly. CB has previously tried a few times to provide PanO characters to cover the CQB niche in N4: Previous PanO Attempts ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 1 GUNNAR MULTI Rifle(+1 Dam), Chain-colt / Pistol, Trench-Hammer, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 34) UMA SØRENSEN (Surprise Attack [-3], Camouflage, Forward Deployment [+8"]) Submachine Gun(+1B), E/M Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 30) SHONA CARANO Submachine Gun, Nanopulser(+1B), Flash Pulse / Pistol, EXP CC Weapon. (0 | 27) 0 SWC | 91 Points Open in Infinity Army They were not bad, but all had signifigant downsides. Sure, Dr. Harper is not the best shooter, but unlike Gunnar and Uma, she has NWI. She also has shock Immunity over Carano, which combined with her nanoscreen significantly increases her durability. I feel that CB took the lessons from player feedback on these Characters to heart when they designed her.
I hope your predictions won't come true, as that sounds positively crappy state of the game. Like N2 level of awful game experience .
Welcome to Military Orders, Crosier. You will learn to love being here. This is the state of the game for me. Since the end of N3. I did not play before. Everything good costs an arm and a leg, everything decent dies to a stern glare, you can afford three guns for a list and the rest are cheerleaders who get outshot by anything. You have three MSV options, you generally can afford two at maximum, and when they are gone, you can not deal with mimetism anymore. You have no smoke. Your hackers are either bargain bin bare bones or pushing the price tag of 40. With wip 13 as best. Your Pain Train at minimum costs you 157 points for five, admittedly, good troopers, but when Hospitaller HMG goes, usually you have at max one Spitfire in a harris to throw a decent hail into the enemy. Mind, I love my faction. I state all these because, despite the problems, I love playing them. But, believe me, I was playing like this since end of 2018.
Sadly what you are saying is true, I just don't like it! I love HIs in infinity and I really really want them to be effective. I've been playing on and off since the end of 2016: I tried the majestic Knightly orders, the brutal Suryats of CA and humble ORC troopers in Varuna, but most of the time a stinky 20-ish pts Ariadna Camo trooper preformed better than any HI. In N3 / N4 there seemed to be a paradigm shift in favour of HIs and it would be really sad if CB would reverse this trend .
I hope that Hospitaller's gain the ability to duo in N5. If that happens, more units get cheaper, and the Fireteam changes hold, I think MO will have some good options in N5. I know that is a lot of Ifs...
