The good news is it can't get Cover, so any strong shooting option will (eventually) get the job done (it's similar to a Mim(-3), ARM 3 model in Cover). It can't even drop prone, so it's just stuck there taking order after order of shooting. It's also vulnerable to things like E/M or hacking, though that's faction-dependent. For Ariadna specifically, a linked AP HMG will shred it pretty quickly. Still, this thing is going to be a great piece for PanO to use as a follow-up attacker after their bigger, better guns have cleared out any Long Range ARO. Then they just stick it somewhere annoying in Suppressive Fire. At least none of the fliers can push buttons.
Damn, EM carbine B4 is nasty. Then you do bring some MSV. Stuff with mim-6 that you cannot (or hardly can) kill in CC are not new to the game. "I cannot deal with a threat because I poorly designed my list and didn't include the proper tools, even though I knew this threat might show up, this game is so unfair!"
I'd push it up one flank right into opponent's DZ, mow down some order monkeys, and put it into SF there. It doesn't have to survive to my next turn, it's already slowing opponent down, job well done. As for counters, any AP weapon in its good range should do well in active, and MSV1 got more common. We also don't know how the full N5 enviroment will look. There will be changes. Speaking of changes, Koni mentioned over on discord that Seraph will see some subtle changes, including its armament.
Yeah against a model with MSV1 and AP Ammo, the Redeye has the same defensive stats as an ARM 0 model in cover. There's a few models in Ariadna with both (Frontoviks, Unknown Ranger, Mavericks) and a lot more with just one or the other. It's very spooky when it's running around leveraging weird angles and that Spitfire to cause havoc, but it really has to hide (or try and use Suppressive Fire) on the opponent's turn or its going to get folded like an omelette.
Currently, in N5, every Arianda Faction (Vanilla, TAK, Kosmo, and USARF) have access to MSV 1 with AP guns. At S7 and no cover, it is hard to hide. I think everyone will be fine.
I hope it returns to its real size... for a TAG originally from the Stingray series, changing its silhouette at the sculptor's request made no sense at all. Seraph needs a lot of redesign.
I love the variety of the VHs! Each get different weapon layouts to complement their different roles on the battlefield. I don't see one as superior than the others due to the pricing. Looking forward to seeing how they perform on the table.
The redeye simply have to poke his head above a cover, shoot and get back to the ground. You wont be able to shoot him in your active turn, when you have Burst advantage. And if by any chance the flyer dodge, is a -9 for the opponent Returning to S6 OR becoming AD troop. Both options will be nice
Common, no, available and affordable, yes. And even without MSV there's a lot of AP HMGs/Spitfires/MMRs in the faction, active turn shooting will require what, 2-3 orders to take it down? We already have Mim-6 HIs in the game and they aren't dominating the meta.
Kosmo has Kosmosoldats and The Unknown Ranger. USAF has Mavericks and The Unknown Ranger. The worst options would be TAK with the Frontoviks, but that is only if they get no changes. We already know that TAK is getting more units like a mini-tank so that could change if it has MSV 1.. Arianda will be fine.
Since when shooting an S7 model with No Cover in your active turn became an issue in Infinity? I honestly don't understand all the fuss here.
So I have to make the list based on something that I might or might not randomly face, instead of focusing on the missions. Shit
since you are not able to see him? Or where you play, buildings cant hide a tag? Ariadna will never be fine since N4
In a second thought, i dont think they'll made the seraph S6, unless they discontinue the actual one and resculpt a new one in plastic
Eh, you do not take MSV and/or AP ammunition? I thought they are one of the things to consider on the early stage of list building. It depends on the opponent but I expect my opponent to bring at least one mimetism and at least one HI or high-armor trooper. Dropping one of them might be an option but a list without both MSV and ap ammunition sounds a bad list making. N4 pure 5man core hospitaller or orc might be able to do without MSV and AP, but their high BS works as MSV and HMG has high damage (even in this case PanO player will take at least one multi rifle).
Wow the Pan O flyer will be a PIA killing machine. Hard to ARO. In active it has only his dodge - 3 and mime, but high arm and BTS will make it a tough nut to crack, even without cover. Not every list carrys a lot of msv so the immunity to cc will make it more surviveable. The Pan O one is also easy for the user. Best reach from the three we see so far. Yu Jing has the worse states so far. BTS 3 is very low. But EM B4 is a bummer when it gets in range. Neat. I am curious how the flyer will be change the meta. It can´t do objectives at least.
Unpopular opinion, but Redeye is actually the worst of 3, next to useless. It's just another normal Spitfire on a huge, pricey, almost unrepairable platform with no utilities.
Of course you do have to make a list trying to cover as much situations as possible, in addition of considering the scenario. It's Infinity list building 101. If only the miniatures could use a skill called "Move" to go around buildings... Or the one called "Super-jump" to move above. Or the one called "Climbing Plus". Or the ones called "combat jump" and "parachutist" to land on the side or on the back of said building. You don't have these things where you play? It's an S7 model that cannot get cover. This stuff dies in reactive turn. Against a good player, at least. You should complain less and play more games, that would help you understanding how to deal with this kind of threat, as there is nothing to write home about here.
PanO players thought from the description they will get an A-10 and they got an A-10, I think PanO players are happy.
