Cheaper while gaining "Shock Immunity" (good for Regeneration), but loses Viral Combi profile. E/M Carbine seems interesting, and combined with Triangulated Fire can catch people off guard. Seems like she is turning into an anti_hight_ARM trooper.
Also, the new Infinity novel is here. https://www.whpsupplyroom.com/scifi/p/by-fire-and-sword-ebook#gsc.tab=0
Isn't a product getting delayed the opposite of rushed? Isn't a rushed product one that hits the market before it's ready for consumer use? The announcement and marketing for N5 may have been rushed, but I wouldn't say the rules are just because they're delayed.
If someone’s determined to angry and upset, they’re going to be angry and upset, no matter what the actual situation is.
I am confident this isn't rules tweaks at this point. This is absolutely about updating profiles. The rules are and have been done. It's the fact that the change to edition is enough that all profiles, points and abilities are having to be redone and populated.
They have to delay it (twice now) because it's not ready to release, henceforth it is rushed. It's not rocket science really. Now, do we believe it will be ready for release by Christmas after we have seen it not be ready for release twice now? Because ready or not it will absolutely be released by Christmas, this is not something we haven't seen a thousand times, specially in the videogaming field.
First it was supposed to be October with no fixed date, with the potential of maybe slipping. Then it was 18th of November, now it is December. So yes, twice, with a relatively small push. And overall, it is not a big deal. Having a well-tested product at launch with a small delay is better than a bug fest. On top of that N4 is perfectly functional ruleset, which we continue to use meanwhile.
But that doesn't mean it's rushed. It would be rushed if they said the rules will be published Nov 18, stuck to that date, and then the community found that the rules were poorly worded and half formed. My guess is that they were hopeful they could publish the ruleset and profiles before Black Friday to help drive sales, since it's one of the very few major retail events that applies to gaming, and to give people enough time to put in orders for Christmas gifts. Rather than sticking to the November date to catch Black Friday and Christmas buyers, they chose to push the date back which will likely cause them to lose out on potential buyers who were making purchases to play with the new ruleset. To me, this sounds like they would rather publish a product they're happy with rather than rush to meet the earlier deadline in the hopes that they'll get three major retail events worth of sales from it (Black Friday, Christmas, and Boxing Day/Week).
Guys. Gals. People. Artichokes. The product being delayed can not be rushed, it is delayed. I am, maybe, not the best with english, but that is like mixing black and white. The only scenario where it can be rushed is, if it was penned for 2026, and they decided to launch it half cooked in 2024, but by this point, we can not make these assumptions, we did not see any rulebooks. And, this is going down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories too deep even for my liking, and I like me some juicy conspiracy theory. By this point, it will come "eventually". I am not going to tell you how to feel or what to do. Me, I have myself a full MO range to rebase, MO Curator to proxy and Seraph to assemble and paint. See you in january. Cheers.
N5 arriving soon? "gnagnagna, it's rushed, it'll be crap" N5 being delayed? "gnagnagna it's rushed, it'll be crap" Exhausting. And yeah, sometimes companies announce a date they think will be fine for the product to be released and for a million possible reasons, it's not the case. Wow. Never saw such a thing before, huge news. It doesn't necesarily mean the product is bad or rushed, just that it may benefit from a few more weeks/months of tweaking and polishing. P.S: also, let's state the obvious for you and others that obviously have no idea what running a business is, yes they may be financial considerations at stake also. When you invested a crazy amount of ressources, like they probably did with N5, you indeed need cash and you cannot postpone something for ever. It's real life, not a fairy tale.
I'm disappointed but it's not a huge deal. Also, being delayed can be for many reasons OTHER than the rules. It could even be implementing the Army app. Obviously it's not the printer lol. But even product production problems can do it. Timing is critical and sometimes something happens that ruins it all.
Wanna know a simple solution? Announce it when you have all the testing work finished, thanks to that, you can now do all the theme week with final and not WIP information, set a date, and because all is finished, you dont need to push the goal line. Update is launched as promised and all the builded hype is not lost Now people have bought figures that they cant use until months after the purchase. Is an Infinity 1st time IIRC. Right now, it seems pretty obvious that N5 was planned for Gencon 25, or at least Adepticon 25 and to celebrate Infinity's 20th Anniversary.
That's not a simple solution, that's a simplistic solution. One that doesn't work in addition. But as always, you have no idea what you're talking about and yet you open it wide and loud. I think the worst consequence of N5 being delayed is not that we will have to wait more to play and enjoy, it's that we will have to suffer your uneducated guesses and whineries for some more long weeks/months. Damn, it was almost over, I curse you Corvus Belli!
