Not a weird ufo head, but fake chinese photovoltaic panel, Aleph has been tricked by campaigns of spams and recycles its useless equipment to avoid having to justify its errors.
Yeah the head thing on the hacker is weird but I don't dislike it. It looks like a weird Sentai bad guy. Mk1 Eng Mk2 Sniper and Hacker Mk5 FO ?
I’ve updated Aleph by 1 for Posthumans I thought was 3 not 4. I think the numbers show that the factions that should get some love are Haqqislam and Yu Jing. Nomads and CA are good for a few years I think lol. They might need rules changes but new figures they do not. Yes, I know they sell well but I think some others might too if they promote them a bit more. I’m honestly not sure why Nomads are so popular. I like their older look more than the new. The background is only ok as far as I’ve read. Just not my thing maybe. I just don’t understand the love for Religious Cults, the Mob, and whatever Corregidor is, in Space! I can understand however is that they are good on the table. They have every troop for every mission. They don’t lack for anything as far as I’ve seen. Maybe the one thing is not many Lt. options but the ones they have are not bad. CA I can totally understand. Number of new figures for each faction, last 5 years. 2024 is up to December. Nomads = 83 Combined Army = 79 O-12 = 75 PanO = 65 Aleph = 59 Ariadna = 55 NA2 = 44 Yu Jing = 40 Haqqislam = 35 JSA = 20 Troops we know are coming next year-ish?: PanO: Drummers, Magistrates, Red Eye, Doctor Harper Yu Jing: Long Wang, Silver Snakes, Gudan, Feiquan Ariadna: Barsuk, Vystrel Haqqislam: Haytham Aero-Unit, Zaybak Aero-Unit O-12: Firebat Aleph: K2 Auxiliars JSA: Kyojin Killers, Metsuke Officers, Aibot Remotes CA: Patroclus, Achilles, Drakios, Teucer, Pandora Nomads: Switchers, Triggermen, Go-Pods Again, Haqqislam is not getting much at all. This doesn’t include TAG Pilots. It’s hard to say they will make them. I think the only Faction Videos left are Ariadna and NA2.
Cool and fancy fashion show. It looks like MK1 with Gizmo, MK 2 resculp and finaly the hacker as a Miniatur. Left seems to be MK5 but holds the weapon with the front backwards. I wonder about him, because its in the newe box. So maybe this is like a best of and both older boxes will dissapear. But I thought that MK 4 HRL is the ARO piece nowadays. And I often use MK 3 as a secondary shooter.
The previous posthuman box is still good but now looks like a duplication of Mk5. That box has: 1x PROXY Mk.4 (Heavy Machine Gun) 1x PROXY Mk.4 (Heavy Rocket Launcher) 1x PROXY Mk.5 (Submachine Gun) 1x PROXY Mk.5 (Mk12)
A couple of questions: - Is the Moran Maasai release under Nomads the one from 2024 or 2023? - Is the White Banner Expansion Pack Alpha not included because it's a rebox? - With the Warcor being 'all factions' with a few exceptions would that approach work best for the Beasthunter, Digger, Samsa, Libertos, and Triphammer TAG as those units are available in multiple factions?
I only keep track of new, no re-packs. The Morans are from 2024 I think. This year I had two Special entries. Special: (All Factions except CA & Tohaa): 1 Release, 1 Figure (Warcore) Special: Dire Foes 14, 1 Nomad, 1 O-12, 1 HVT
I believe what Infinity Gamer is getting at with the Moran is that the 2024 box is basically just a repack of the 2023 Morans with the updated Crazy Koalas that were released to other factions in 2023 also.
One of the reasons I believe that Nomads are so popular is because the are branded as Rebels! Punk, Anarchy, and Rebellion branding is very popular and profitable (Tongue firmly in cheek)! It is also so stark how rough it has been for Yujing and Haqqislam. I am hoping in CY 25 for the following: -Jannisaries Box (Horlak Sniper, HMG, Missile Launcher, Doctor) - Odalisques Box -Viral Sunduqbut -Unicol Maggie -Mutts
Ah I didn't realize that. I guess I could take it off for this year if the only thing is the koalas. Here's updated numbers. Taking out Morans from this year. Nomads still on top. Nomads = 81 Combined Army = 79 O-12 = 75 PanO = 65 Aleph = 58 Ariadna = 55 NA2 = 44 Yu Jing = 40 Haqqislam = 35 JSA = 20 Yu Jing = 40 2020: 12 2021: 10 2022: 5 2023: 10 2024: 3 PanO = 65 2020: 9 2021: 21 2022: 11 2023: 11 2024: 13 Ariadna = 55 2020: 12 2021: 15 2022: 6 2023: 9 2024: 13 Haqqislam = 35 2020: 2 2021: 2 2022: 12 2023: 7 2024: 12 Nomads = 81 2020: 6 2021: 23 2022: 4 2023: 43 2024: 5 Combined Army = 79 2020: 16 2021: 12 2022: 22 2023: 27 2024: 2 Aleph = 58 2020: 10 2021: 2 2022: 16 2023: 10 2024: 20 O-12 = 75 2020: 24 2021: 14 2022: 10 2023: 3 2024: 24 NA2 = 44 2020: 12 2021: 13 2022: 5 2023: 10 2024: 4 JSA = 20 2024: 20 2024 Figure Release up to December 2024 O-12: 7 Releases, 24 Figures (Torchlight Brigade, Gladius Team, Nightshade, Wreaker, TB Expansion Alpha, Raveneye, TB Expansion Beta) JSA: 6 Releases, 20 Figures (Mechazoid, REF Pack, Takeshi Oyama, Sandtrap, Beyond Sand, Beasthunter) Aleph: 7 Release, 21 Figures (Myrmidons, REF Pack, Regular release Maximus, Atalanta, Sophotech Support pack, Ajax, Posthumans) Haqqislam: 5 Releases, 12 Figures (REF Pack Alpha, Azra’il, Hassasin pack Alpha, Mukhtar RF, Al-Djabel) PanO: 4 Release, 13 Figures (Regular release Maximus, Tikbalang, Sandtrap, Beyond Sand) Ariadna: 5 Releases 13 Figures (Cateran, REF Pack Alpha, Jacques Bruant, Ratnik, Kibervolk Patrol) Nomads: 3 Releases, 5 Figures (Lizard, Zeros, Daemonist Observant) NA2: 4 Releases, 4 Figures, (Digger, Liberto, Samsa, Triphammer TAG) Combined Army: 2 Release, 2 Figures (regular release Caskuda, Anathematic) Yu Jing: 2 Release, 3 Figure (Guilang Hacker, Yaoxie remotes) Special: (All Factions except CA & Tohaa): 1 Release, 1 Figure (Warcore) Special: Dire Foes 14, 1 Nomad, 1 O-12, 1 HVT
The quote displayed along with this slide is "...will be gone from the playable roster until they are scheduled for a comeback" Which is new information on what the 'dead' sectorials are expected to be. Now obviously this is pure speculation, but putting together the facts CB has shared: I think this does indicate a move to a more subscription like model for releases. We know, a faction can have 3 sectorials plus some legacy models and mercs hanging in the new sectorial-like generic lists. We also know that relatively new* sectorials like Varuna are capable of being cycled once the three sectorials is hit. I think is logical to assume that the next time they want to revive the dead, we will lose an existing sectorial from not only the store, but also the rules. But I would like to know from others If think this is too much speculation? (again, why I would like to see more communication from CB, especially when it comes to identifying what intentions for the life span of infinity factions and models are) Do you think the recent cuts are sort of a one off thing to get the game under control going forward? If you agree at least in part with my speculation, do you like this kind of model and what do you like about it? Obviously I've been pretty open about my distaste, but to be clear I'm not asking rhetorically here. I'm genuinely interested and I'm not going to fill this thread with replies rebutting your answers.
I actually dig these sculpts quite a bit, but i don't dig them more than the truly excellent new Dactyls. Assuming the rules for them stay basically the same in N5. Between the Dactyls which I have never used in SP, the gorgeous Naga sniper that spent all of the N3 as a the TO sniper profile, the Yadu HRL, and well, Pandora needs to find a home somewhere now right?, she will probably makes a good hacker, i can't seem myself picking this up. That said, I could see wanting to expand into Torchlight at some point, but I don't really care for the aesthetic, so they might find a home there. I love almost everything I've seen rules wise for N5. And the late period N4 release, plus what we are seeing with Kestrel and JSA profiles are all things I hoped for with the launch of N4 and the reworking and rebalancing in Army. (I remember CB talking about BTS not needing to come in '3' anymore. I hope they go a little further with the Post Humans in N5 and just make the four models in the box a single profile with them all synchronized like puppetbots. N5 is not taking the cuts to armies far enough. My take is that a lot of what can make infinity intimidating for new players is that there are sooooo many choices in the army builder, it's difficult to know what to take. Add on to that trying to get to grips with what's in your opponents' lists, and the fact that learning the models by sight might be pointless with so much proxying being done or even some times required just by profiles never having a sculpt for certain loadouts in their entire lifespan. I think cutting down the profiles to literally what is sculpted would prevent both those issues while at the same time making balancing the game a whole lot easier for CB. It would give an incentive to improve the profiles of underperforming models you already own, so they aren't just proxy bait. Especially now that most of the models are being packaged and sold in big sets. If i wanted a second Sulsa model to run double in a list, i would need to buy an entire second reinforcements box to do so without proxying, and that's only if I decide to take two SMGs. Why, just don't let me take two and balance the rules around that? Every faction has the same basically the same drones rules wise, but there is a unique set being sold for each and taking up SKU's and sculpting time, when you could just sell one set and put the rules with the faction specific variations in each army. I think we can think more outside the box here.
I think they always said the "dead sectorials" were not being supported at launch and that more that 3 Sectorial Lists per faction wasn't realistic for a launch of new rules. I think that it's quite possible that when new sectorials are added or old ones revived that it could exceed 3 in a single faction but one would likely move to a status similar to n4s "playable but out of catalogue"
At this point, i will be glad if simply strap the N5 weapons chart to OoP factions. It will be my decission if i want to go to a tournament with an outdated army. But at least i can still play them
Oh... I dont like this feeling of being uncertain about my army in the future. For now we are playing with friends in N4 reality, and I guess, it is time to make n4 profiles saves. The other option is to make a work for CB and adapt old armies and their profiles for N5. When we would see, how they are working of course. I would be fine to play such a thing with a friends. But official tournaments would be closed for such a players... What is next? Creating alternative tournaments and campaings, where community created armies are legit?
