Mainly the problem is not what generic misses, but what generic has. Auxiliaries and Uhlan are indeed the staples of Neoterra. As were Hexas, which are now oop and out of the game. But, it has a lot of other stuff. Mainly it has a lot of Kestrel. I am all for hype new models, and I am happy for people who enjoy the idea of Kestrel, but I feel little bit left out of the generalist MO, with only Teutons being in there. From the lore perspective, it makes little sence to me to exclude capitaline army and orders, and include a lot of new poster boys of new starter in generalist faction. From buisiness standpoint, it makes all the sence, but it does not make me like it more, because I am no longer a beginner. But also, I am not wielding pitchfork and do not gather a torch wielding mob. Just... After seeing the lot of generalist Haqqislam being pretty much the same mix, minus some units, I got my knickers in a twist. Am I a bit miffed? Yes. Will it break me? No. Will I start 3d printing Infinity models? No.
I don't quite understand the need for it yet. I guess it could be good for a beginner to see. I know too much lol.
The uhlan was perfection. It had a role, it was costed appropriately, it had its own tactics + preferred big-game hunting. Awesome bit of kit. It will be sorely missed
Quite an interesting unit, which also showcases noticeable changes to Albedo, making it reverse mimetism. Also suspiciously cheap.
C'mon, albedo, minelayer with turrets, stealth, NCO... Can JSA get the same amount of powercreep, please?
Yu Jing first please If ML turret will place a turret, here with mms, this is a big deal for 21 pts 0 swc. Especially for Pan O.
Yes, it is called Hatamoto. On the other side of things, this sounds like something Invincible Army has needed since day one.
Geez that's fun stuff! I'm thinking Albedo is going to be like mimetisim vs. Msv and it lasts all game now. Anyone else can see them normally. I think it would be cheap since only a small percentage of troops are affected by it. Again guessing here, I think the turret will not be total reaction but has a little armor and we see a better gun than combi rifle. It would make sense to make it Neurocinetic since they never shot in active turn. I'm glad he doesn't have a forward deployment skill! Though that thing will be nasty in games with 16" deployment. (SR-1) must be Survival Roll -1?. It's the new equivalent to Damage +1. Instead of adding to damage, it's taking away from armor. So vs. Combi Rifle PS7. You roll would need to be PS7+ARMOR+Cover-1=X. Example Fusilier in cover would need to roll under 10. PS7 + 1 ARM +3 Cover = 11-1=10. I think it would have made more sense though it it was PS-1. PS7-1=6+1+3=10 but it's the same. I guess it doesn't matter. That's a good hacker for PO. WIP13 and BTS6 is no joke and 24pts.
Thanks. I actually didn't watch the video because I thought it was the same as the lat one about the Firefly.
It'll still be pretty vulnerable to KHDs, but carrying actual anti-armour weaponry could be worth it- slapping a TAG or superheavy infantry with Carbonite, then blasting them with a Panzerfaust or D-Charge could be a game-changer. The JSA profiles are certainly a little weird, but it must be said nearly everything Kestrel fields has an effective range of under 8". Good play with Spitfires and the like could leave them beaten in a gunfight by the likes of even Ariadna.
Not playing PanO but this profile is cool! Hyped to see stuff like deployable (marksman rifle? wow...) turrets. Not unbalanced at all. It has no camo, no deployment skill, the more powerful profiles are not specialists, they are quite short ranged, etc... But great toolbox! :) Cool to see Albedo reworked, I do hope it's like mimetism against VMS and it works all game long.
I'm not going to claim power creep until I see the rest of N5 unit costs, it might be that they're fairly priced for their new enviroment. But damn, they're cheap. As others said, no deployment skills or Camo here, but I don't think it matters. They can run in Duo/Haris links, and I'd expect Engi and Minelayer to be the main picks here, to watch the back of Griffins or Hetkari doing the doorkicking. Alternatively, HRL seems like a good piece for harassing MSV AROs.
I don't see the powercreep, they are similar to Blades with no visibility mods except against visors, no deployment tricks and very short range guns (except the HRL). They have their uses, but it all hinges on how good the turret is mostly. I really like the change to Albedo
