For SWF I just hope Patsy will find a new home in it with her fellow ORCs (as the last Sectorail with ORCs). As for MO some semblence for the Father/Mother Knights of Justice (poor model got its 3rd iteration), clean up the Teuton - Magister hybrid profile and give the poor Santiagos BTS6!
I am expecting a clean up and some characters and units repatriation, Patsy can stay with her fellow Orcs in generic, Uma can finally stop roaming the human sphere and come back to her cold but surprisingly comfortable home.
For SWF I'd like to see most of the mercs to get the boot to make the army feel more cohesive. MO stuff will most likely see some changes both sectorials will benefit from. Boygs need rethinking, and hopefully N5 Locusts and Nokken will differ more from each other. MO will likely benefit from expected HI price drop. Aside from that it needs fireteams tweaking, and some units - Order Sergeants, Knight Commanders, Lazarites, Black Friars - need rethinking. I'd really like to see folding specialised support roles into Order Sergeants and to allow them to provide flexible fireteam support. Would also be nice for them to get some new Auxbots from the Drummers. And just like with SWF, out with the random mercs
Locusts and Nokken should get a significant price cut if Scarecrows are any indication. That should change their usability. I feel if you have enough saturation, you can make forward deploying and infiltrating models without camo work.
Tbh I'm more puzzled about vpano having Locust, Nokken, Scarecrow and Croc-Men all at once... I didn't knew Pano was a skirmisher faction as much as Haqqislam ^^'
Yeah, especially with shotguns not being DTWs in new edition. I'd still want those two to be pushed in more specialised directions though, as they are they pretty similar
I feel that the weapon choices are enough, but I get what you are saying. Giving Nokken BS13 would make them more of a shooting platform. Uma gets pretty deadly with price cut and shotguns losing direct templates.
I'm super looking forward to MO! Due to the sheer price of MO units, Duos will make a LOT of sense. - Knight of Justice might really get a boost of reasons to be deployed if paired with interesting units (e.g. Duo pure with Joan). - Same about hospitaliers Really super pumped about the implication of the new FT rules for MO
So am I. General rules changes are one of the things which will have an impact here. Pricing changes are another, as even without other changes it should make it easier to fit knights and necessary support structure into the same list. Specific unit changes are third part that I'm looking forward to. What exactly will happen to KoJs? Will they coexist with returning FKs, and if so, how will they differ in stats, loadouts, and tactical role? Will troops like Infirmarers get fixed, and other units properly tweaked?
Locust and Nokken dont count if they continue to have no camo and no HD. Scarecrow FO for 25 points is very nice though. And yes, it is surprising to me too. It only took nearly two decades for vanilla Pano to have a decent midfield at an affordable price. I guess good things come to those that wait.......a very VERY long time. lol
Non-Camo Skirmishers get exponentially better the more stuff you can actually put in the midfield- the Hassassins have a guy who basically is a Locust with FO and I believe I've heard he's pretty solid there thanks to the cover he gets from the other good Haqq mid-board defenders. Scarecrows and price cuts may well go some way to making Locusts and their ilk good.
Yes, not only the friends he has in midfield but the skill set like dodge+3, which makes him hard to catch with templates, and the weapons... Subtle differences. However let's see :) for what we saw I think Pano is going to a good place, but we still to know what changes N5 will bring to us, and what toys the others will have. Let's wait for the best, but be prepared for the worse. XD
At the moment I'm quite satisfied with what I've seen so far... let's hope we get lucky and that Firefly engineer has WIP 13 for the Armoured Fireteam.
Tbh, I'm pretty optimistic for pano. Seems like a new edition and a balance pass could open up some nice play styles. I'll be stuck with a boatload of proxies and eBay salvage jobs mind as my NCA is no more, but whatever. If its fun I'll play it
I'm glad I sold all of my panO models, after feeling it was a hopeless investment in N4, because I don't think I would've been able to play N5 without proxying an entire army.
CB may have a major problem with PanO and Ariadna... Who is going to bet on Svalarheima knowing that it is a matter of time before they withdraw it for another of the sectorials? The only thing that can alleviate it a little is for CB to unequivocally confirm its commitment that any N5 sectorial that is left out of the catalog will continue to be playable... If not, PanO and Ariadna may be greatly reduced in terms of players.
If CB has defined a limit of 3 sectorialss and PanO has 6 sectorials (3 inside and 3 outside) and CB does not close the door to the old sectorials returning. It is logical to think that if 1 enters, another leaves... how has happened to Varuna. What are the incentives to start a sectorial that can be discontinued with a certain probability? That is why I say that to avoid this perception of risk that is not at all unreasonable... it would be reasonable for CB to have clear communication regarding the durability of the current sectorials with the highest risk of rotation. I have news of more than 1, 2, 3... testimonies from PanO players who are either glad to have left the faction (like the previous comment) or who have decided to stop acquiring new miniatures, at least from certain sectorials at risk such as Svalarheima. CB may give clear information of his intentions to alleviate the perceived risk...or it may not.
I understood what has been said, I do not follow or understand that logic. "something may happen in the future, so why do anything" is not something I subscribe to.
