Q1 The switches boxes are positioned on the card in a specific way (under ranged/melee/defence). For example Pioneers !! and ! is placed under ranged and the text box extends under melee, but is broken exactly not to go under defense. Is this switch working only for ranged, or for ranged and melee? Q2 Pioneers with Telia attached using Mortar against a unit of 5 minis. I get 2 red (2 pioneers in unit), 3 orange (max for the targets) - that's obvious, but do I get +1 success from Telia and the reroll from her ability? Mortar rule reads it is a ranged attack.
I don't have the card with me now, but it's the same for every card in the game. You have just to mind where the symbols are. Are they under Ranged/Close combat / Defence dice? It's only for Ranged/Close combat / Defence rolls. Are they under Combat dice?
Here's the example I'm talking about. There is no clear rule about this in the rule book. Thanks for the quick response.
If you take a look at Drago's card, you can see that his switches are under Melee attacks: That means that, by comparision, the Pioner switches are applied to ranged attacks.
This is the easiest and best way to explain it. It should be in the rulebook. Don't mind where the text is, just look where the symbols are.
