Now that N4 is leaving, here are my questions to you guys: How do you play your Vanilla or Sectorials? Favourite units, links, lists to missions, most hated enemies and so on. Share also your favourite moments out of the edition!
Shouldn´t it be: How to you playED Yu Jing? Sure N5 will not change this much, but with new and polished rules, updated profiles and some new ones and maybe fresh fireteam formations it will be a little bit different then. Well here we go - my personal statistics for Yu Jing: Overall I had 57* games so far with them (some will follow until the change in November) Won 34, Draw 5 and Lost 18 Most faced enemys: Nomads 12 O-12 11 Pan O - 9 Most played Missions were: Supremacy and Cyrogenics 6 Frontline 5 Panic Room 4 I played mostly White Banner with: 34 Missions - W 18 D 4 L 12 ISS 13 Missions W 8 D 1 L 4 Invincible Army 11 Missions - W 9 D 0 L 2 Vanilla: 0 Most used Models: Shaolin male old 29 Shaolin fem old 27 Shang Ji HMG 26 Most kills: Shang Ji HMG 57 Blue Wolf Pilot 23** Daofei Spitfire 15 Most death : Shaolin male old 19 Tian Guo 12 Shaolin fem old 12 Shang Ji HMG 11 Most hated enemys: Torchlight Brigade one game - lost, Steel Phalanx one win, one loss Three games with Jujak Meme list (pain train with all Jujaks and Shang Jesus) two wins, one loss 90 % of the matches fully painted so the availability is linked to the paint-status. Since the Reinforcments (I made three games with Yu Jing) adjustment I like to play the a mixed link with the new stuff in WB. Spoiler: *) My other main factions are: Aleph, Nomads and Pan O Spoiler: **) This means, the pilot has pilot the Blue Wolf and therefore made this kills, it is in no way related to the extra profile that is called "pilot".
I probably have around 50 games shared between Invincibles and White banner, still figuring them out, mostly played with white banner, I enjoys how rounded the sectorials I play are. No clue, I have yet to make it work and I like the unit and model so much... How do people make it work?
Geez that's some note keeping! I supposed it's good to keep track of though. It's always nice to back up things with numbers!
Ähm - by shooting things? B5 DAM 15 AP is no joke. And he has only 6 games on his log ;-) so 3,83 kills per game. Is that so many? Sadly my data does not tell me in which games he take part exactly, if won them or not and what the opponent was. Spoiler: Lets see: My Marut made 13 in 3 games Agamemmnon (though not fully painted) made 6 in 2 Hammer Jotum 12 in 4, regular Jotum 4 in 2 (he is longer in service (my first TAG) but since Hammer is painted he played only in double Jotum lists) Guijas record is sad: 3 games, 3 kills, 3 death ... Gator made 6 in 2 Gecko MMR managed also 6 in 2 (haris) while his MK12 brother got only 2 in 2. Iggy is most sad TAG in my painted collection: 0 games Yeah. I like excel* ;-) and before rust settles down, I try to find some excuses for private use. *) but I use Libre Office because its for free
When I don´t need, I will not? When I have the opportunity to do so because I can (without suffering a lucky hit) then I will - but honestly I do not remember what BW did excatly. When I play a TAG I try to use them a lot.
The PILOT doesn’t have a B5 DAM 15 AP gun. The PILOT has a light shotgun. The question was how did you get 23 kills with a light shotgun.
wish I had kept better records but I can remember I had more losses than wins. In Vanilla I mostly took: Guilang, Shaolin, Daofe, Beathunter White Banner: Guilang, Shaolin, Ye Mao KHD, Beasthunter ISS and IA are just to long ago.
Top 3 favorite unit are Hac Tao HMG, Hsien HMG and YJ beasthunter. Love the style, love the lore, love how they play on the board. Honourable 4th place for the daoying hacker, the model is an absolute killer, and when I'm done shooting stuff dead she's here to push buttons and win the game. Overall, I'm a sucker for big boys with big guns, and like to include some good melee in my lists. I often start my lists with some elite HI with an HMG, and whatever it takes to support it (daoying for the hac tao, haris team for the hsien). Favorite fireteam is the zuyong invincible fireteam: HMG Tac Aw/Tinbot Tac Aw/Missile Launcher/Paramedic/NCO (usually Kokram). Not that expensive for what you get, and overall a lovely gunboat to manoeuver around the board. Damn shame it has some very hard counters that the rest sectorial fail to adress properly (hacking and noctifer-like units), otherwise I'd play it more often. I mostly play vanilla these days, I can't get a grip on white banner no matter how hard I try and both IA and ISS, my favourite sectorials, have aged rather poorly I think and could use some love.
Don't think he was trying to be funny, I was confused too. Yes, the pilot pilots the TAG, but since it has a separate profile in the game, the way you worded it made me trip up as well.
That is true. I was waiting to hear a story of brave pilot, who is fighting even out of TAG. But it is good to know, that Wolf was fed well. I have only games for fun, nothing serious, but my main heroes are: - Guilang, because it is nice to put some mines and make some boarding shotgan shots - ShangJi with AP hmg (not a surprise) - Jujak link (plus hwarangs with them not long time ago) - Haetae to make some exposions. (I am using yan huo as this unit) - tiangou khd and with jammer All of this is not in one list, but I am using them from time to time. Friend once killed my hacker with guijia pilot,. But that was not my achievement. So, I am playing Yu Jing with pleasure. They are my main faction with Ramah. Kitchen league. (actually it is a guest room) (but after I lost tohaa, I was trying to find myself in many other places. But I guess, we are at home (if CB would not decide, that Yu Jing could be tohaa'ed))
I only play AI and ISS and only for fun so my experience may be very different from competitive players who post on this forum. In AI the abundance of TA is the rule I systematically take out the HMG Shangi and Bixie. As surprising as it may seem, the Liu Xing also does a wonderful job (I should take it out more often). The Mowang duo is also impressive. Even if it is not decisive, YanHuo neurocinetics is also effective (for me) For ISS, it's more difficult to play. Our tables are quite loaded in general and the Hsien HMG is rarely in a good position. My Sun tze often went out hidden by a kanren and covered by a Bao. The double Haris is incredible. I don't hesitate to make two combat groups with elements that I swap (thanks to Sun tze) to adapt my response to my opponent's turn. not always winning but very pleasant to play. Never play WB.
Funny nothing, the Pilot is literally a separate miniature with a separate profile. If the Blue Wolf got the kills, then the Blue Wolf should be credited, otherwise A: you can't accurately assess if the Pilot's advantages over other pilots (like the Guijia's) is worth considering when choosing between the two, and B: you introduce ambiguity and confusion to others who read your data. As a point of order: say you did this experiment with Svalarheima. Would your list read "Crabbot Ancillary Remote Unit: 23"?
No, it would be: Thor, Jotum Pilot as its from my list for my personal record, that lists the pilots not the engines. The TAG alone is just a hull. So sry for the confusion but if someone takes all too litrally without a second thought, than its not my problem.
I believe I actually did once get a kill with Stabbo Crabbo, but I am sadly yet to field my Guijia to see how a Pilot with a gun compares.
Well, that depends entirely on what you want. If you just want to post your information and don't care if anyone can read or understand it, then sure, not your problem. But, to be honest, if no one can read your data then posting it is pointless. If you want other people to be able to read your data and use it, then that is entirely your problem. You can't control how people interpret what they read, but you can control what they read. By posting information that is confusing or ambiguous, you sabotage your own original objective of having other people find your information useful and helpful. In this case, the common convention is to refer to a TAG by the name of the TAG, not the pilot. You circumvented this convention and did not post a clarification, leading to ambiguous interpretation and confusion. This isn't really a huge deal here, as it's easily cleared up in a single sentence ("Kills made by a TAG are attributed to the Pilot"), but this is something that is absolutely essential when presenting data in a professional sense. Whether it's a presentation in a board meeting, a proposal to your team, or simply justifying a raise to your boss, making sure that the other party reads the data in the way you want them to is key.
