Or how about a limited with another specialist with NWI. For a Limited Insertion list? Sure, there are ways to do better than 10 Orders in a 10 model group (NCO, Tactical Awareness, some Impetous models) but it is kind-of difficult to achieve in Corregidor.
I have a similar list. I want to play this for fun and see how it goes. I intend on using it for the next Operation Edgelord mission. Just something fun to play. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 EVADER Feuerbach, D-Charges ( | TinBot: Firewall [-3]) / Pistol, CC Weapon. My plan is to move forward and control the midfield with the Evader core. Sit and hold for the first round. Then in the second round, drop in the AD support from the flanks and from behind. The Bandit is to slow down my opponent's knights in the midfield with E/M mines. I haven't used a Bandit yet.
I like most, except I disagree with a few things here and there. Here are my thoughts: Pan O - The Shooty, TAG, high tech faction. I think more g-sync and eclipse stuff would make them more interesting. Yu Jing - Heavy Infantry - but also the Mobile, versatile faction. This is the faction with Su Jian, lots of guys with +1" move dodge. Imho, they should be the dodgy faction, so give them +3 dodge on more guys. Imho it's a complete fluff fail that Teutons get +3 dodge, and there is no Yu Jing HI who dodges like that. No one cares about +2" dodge when you only dodge on a 12. Zanshi are also overpriced. But if you swapped the +1" Dodge and +1 cc for +3 dodge, People would love them. They differentiate units from Pan O by being equipped with versatile kits, which often makes them better. Ariadna - Low tech infil units with grit, + werewolves. More decoys and forward deploy +8" would be fun. Haqqislam - They aren't the spam faction, that is Ariadna. They are the light infantry versatile, healing, super soldier faction. Their units are REALLY versatile, even more than Yu Jing. Their line infantry is actually marked by rifle+light shotgun, and insane different kits - so I think leaning into this versatility and toughness of lightly armed dudes, which would suggest a more 'skirmisher' type of gameplay, would be the way to go. Nomads - They aren't low cost. They have the second most Tags of any faction. They have the single best cc unit in the game (Uberfall). Emphasising Hacking and deployables more would be fun, though. Combined - Expensive, slow and powerful. They aren't better overall, but their guys being highly specialised at being the best is what I'd hope they lean into. IMHO Morats, despite being super fun, honestly don't fit the other 2/3s of the faction imho. Aleph - Robot & Post human faction. Highly specialised units. Imho, Aleph kind of intersects with combined, Nomads, Haqq, and Pan-O, but by leaning into Rems, I think it can carve a space out. Tohaa - Please remove. ;) Honestly, I love the models, but 'plays a different game' is not imho good for the game, or a good gimmick. I can't really think of a good way to fix them, as there's not enough space already. O-12 - Pan O v2. Honestly, these guys feel like a redesigned Pan O. In my ideal world, they'd just be folded into each other. JSA - The CC, close up faction. Their line infantry should be like moderators, with cc 18 and a -6 ccw. Imho, too much stuff has courage already, so I wouldn't want an 'all courage' faction. Religious is far more interesting.
Nomads and 0-12 both seem to do better as well as have better non-shooting options. Mimetism and wacky abilities like that are generally better for making a gunfighter than just adding ballistic skill. Far cheaper, for certain.
As the other poster mentioned, the Grenzer sniper. In Nomads, which have such better noninteractive options that it's not even funny.
Tinbot -6 is amazing on both defense and offense and is another facet of why N4 hacking wasn't fully thought through.
Except it doesn't matter that much because things like the Szalamandra are already "good enough" so Nomads don't really feel the squeeze of having bad shooting units. And they don't labor under the limitations PanO does.
Tohaa's main gimmick was pretty simple: unlimited three-man mixed Fireteams between the troopers with the Triad rule. Considering how N4 Fireteams have spiraled out of control, Tohaa right now has the easiest to understand and simpler Fireteams.
Maybe, for O12, lean in more non lethal solutions, like riotstopper and para cc. And limited, a lot, the use of weapons forbidden by concilium, like chain rifles. Cheers.
I agree totally about Zhanshi. The +1" is stupid and useless. Also the CC. It totally useless. I disagree about versatility. For me it's the opposite. it's always been a choice of guns OR specialists. Not both. Most of their good troops are expensive. They are a bit generalists in a specialist world. If missions changed half way through a game, they would be ok. But most missions ask for specific things.
In theory, yes. In practice, I've never once seen a pure linked Grenzer sniper on the table since the fireteam update, because it's way too expensive and ridiculously inefficient to put five Grenzers in a list. On the other hand, you can quite build a quite cheap and versatile pure Bolt core in PanO. So in reality, that Grenzer sniper is BS17 at most.
Nah, I know that mimetism is 1 point and lowers the enemy's BS by 3. How many points is raising BS from 13-14? Or 14-15?
Thanks for proving my point, you do not play PanOceania and do not understand PanOceania, try them if you want, but without some extensive play time with a faction and against that faction, it is extremely unlikely that one can formulate the necessary deep understanding needed to properly comment on the faction.
