There was too many years since the last time i played, but i think you found the engines as rewards for some missions?
All minotaur engines are from what I remember mission rewards, admittedly some are not physical "engines" but wormhole travel related items that count up as "engines".
You can only buy a ship upgrade that lets you move markers on ship panel to avoid damage (I think it also gives one minotaur engine token, but I don't have that card on hand) the rest obtained during campain. (Engine components in mission 4, Energy Cells in mission 5, Killing Cadmus Leshan in mission 6, Capturing Charontid Lt in mission 7 and succesfully escaping with data in mission 8)
I just noticed that Gromoz can snowball code sample gains. Can you even exchange them between players?
I'm in the same place. I have not and I will never buy a kickstarter from them again. Failing to deliver a functioning game I paid over $400 USD for put a very bad taste in my mouth for CB. It was just a huge money grab. Since then the pricing structure for Infinity models went "pay for power". The prices doubled for some models. The reinforcement rule seemed like it was a sell models first worry about the rules second approach. Definace was a turning point in the company. They have been slowly turning into GW. And no beast of war campaign this year? I really look forward to the global campaign every year. I hope greed does not fuck up the game in N5.
The Defiance hero sculpts, and the Megalodron, are very nice. I would like to see an "OOP Defiance" Happy Days offering for us latecomers.
I like your use of the word "Definance". They certainly have been de-financing people: the removal of your finances.
Probably a good place to ask this; do we know the distance between worlds and ship speeds outside wormholes?
Well unfortunately I haven't been able to find any specific number about the speed, and the distance between worlds depends a lot, if you have a specific world in mind there is some information about "Distance from Star" for some planets (in fact, specific number are extremely rare in the lore), however I can tell you a few things about space travel beyond the wormholes. Most ships don't travel between worlds by themselves, they use something called Vila Booster for intrasystem travel these machines are enormous arrays of powerful magnetic mass drivers that can accelerate an outgoing ship and decelerate an incoming one, beside this most spaceships use some variation of magnetoplasmadynamic thruster, or MPDT to travel by themselves when needed, however there are some high-priority vessels that use thermal antimatter drives instead allowing them to be completely independent for space travel
