Just recently CB has updated their Infinity Facebook page and twitter account with a post with the following message: It is nice that there is a dedicated channel to funnel questions about rules where any player can reach to. Although it would have been also nice that such annoucement would have been made not only in Facebook and Twitter, but in other community sites such as this forum. Not because any players would miss it out, after all the interconectivity of media and community over the internet will spread out the word and eventually everyone would get the news. But because it would signify this forum of relevance to also have the faq mail news, being part of the communication strategy of CB.
Eh. Who would use a web forum in this day and age when everyone uses smartphones and tablets? You know, with dedicated apps that have notifications and stuff. This forum is clearly dying (thanks to lack of efforts from CB), there's no significant amount of new players/users and judging by this message CB clearly sees that.
I would've thought it'd be much harder to judge whether a question is FAQ-worthy from an email, vs here where you can see if everyone thinks the answer is obvious, or if everyone's arguing and its clearly a point of confusion
But this way newbie players can submit all kinds of questions (no matter how dumb they may seem) without need to register and expierience judgmental looks from veteran players. Maybe if CB recieves lots of similar questions about something trivial they'll add it too. Some of the questions were answered by community on forum without CB, but were never added into FAQ.
Nice! Glad to know forums are still part of the channels they take count of. Forums may be 'oldtech', but they allow communication to be shared and preserved in a 'atemporal' way that more inmediate channels such as social media or Discord doesn't have.
