Looks like we are getting some resculpts in july. I'm pretty happy because I've toyed with buying a second box anyway but this will really make it worth while. How often do you run 2 of either attack remote?
I have never run two Rui Shi, but it has more to do with not having a second model, would be interesting to see how two MSV2 remotes behave in a White banner list.
I have almost completely stopped using them since they went up in price at the start of N4 (the S4 price hike that hit PanO delayed) and ever since Lu Duan could no longer do the re-echo into Blackout on repeaters (since Oblivion can't target deployed Repeaters). Only exception is in fireteams in IA or Dahshat where I do run Rui Shi because at least the former is so very short on decent cheap units. I've always found that Lu Duan clogs the deployment zone and in a climate where I'm struggling to deploy 13 S2 units, replacing one of them with three fairly costly S4 is just not feasible.
Well, I might consider putting together a Dahshat force, then. The old Lu Duan / Rui Shi models were kinda unappealing.
Old models were fine IMO, a bit annoying to put together (with the rui-shi's guns breaking all the time) but the look is good. They barely see play anymore though, the EVO requirement for buff is really too much of a tax, and without it they sit in that uncomfortable "good but not great" range of firepower: BS12 spitfire will often be adequate at best.
That is the conventional wisdom, but I'm now thinking "that's a conclusion I came to at the start of N4". There are now some missions with an extra EVO order, O-12's prestige and we have much more affordable Taowu counter-intelligence. That probably means you could get just as long an attack run with a Rui Shi as you could with an 18 order ISS list in N3, and that was a pretty brutal attack run. Also we just got a 20 point Rui Shi, so you can choose full fat MSV2 or MSV1 to save a few points and try out those long range Red Fury range bands.

(0 | 26) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army This is fairly close to the way I ran a Rui Shi in N3. You've got a main group with a guaranteed 10 orders for the Rui Shi (assuming counterintelligence + O-12's prestige). If you go first, start with the Kuang Shi haris linked to smoke up the battlefield a little and buff the Rui Shi before running it forward to murder as much as it can. Once it's got itself killed, assuming you have the orders, switch assisted fire to the dakini sniper and switch your core link to the Wu Ming. I'm sure it's not the best way to run ISS, but it makes a little change from the hsien links I've been using recently and I miss getting my Wu Ming on the table. I realized if you put a Dakini paramedic in a haris with the CG lt, then the linked medikit could give you better odds to bring up a downed cubeless Wu Ming than a Sophotect would.
I just get a terrible thought: What if the (possible) resculpt of Rui Shi will be Red Fury? I never consider to use this variant unless I am very short of points and would like to put a back up shooter in the list. I used Rui Shi 6 times out of 50 games with YJ in N4 while it has only 6 victims and 4 own uncon results. I still consider it a good weapon plattform even without EVO support. But since you can use it in a fireteam in IA I played not much IA and only one game while it was linked.
No pictures yet, but regardless if we only get Mk12 and Red Fury as options, that will be significantly better than the current Stubber + Flamer and belt fed Light Stubber options they come with right now. Ironically enough, I bought a bunch of Space Marine / Imperial Guard guns and armed my Rui Shi with twin-link Lasguns (my Son-Bae are armed with Storm Missile Launchers and the Husong have a right proper gatling gun). It looks so much better than the original and are 900% less likely to fall off if someone in the room next door coughs.
i prefer the tiny guns that a full size human gun poorly atached to the side of the bot. That trend is horrible and totally unaesthetic. BTW, i used Ruishi practically in every Dashat/JSA list. Lu-duan is more uncommon
