Finally getting around to painting up and basing enough ISS to make a list. Starting with a Husong, Rui Shi, and Lu Duan.
Not mine, it's everybody's thread. Thanks for pushing it back, you're part of a (not so) long list now Nice faction choice btw
That's a good model for Miranda proxy. Caden is done! I painted Uma and Jazz last month but didn't do the bases, so I finished them alongside Caden. Next, the remaining two hero's and the bots.
Why half paint one model that I'll never finish, when I can half paint 10 models I'll never finish? Started base coating (for some absurd reason) a 300 point ISS list...
A few converted, few proxies, and a few just sort of built differently. I flipped the pangguling EVO antenna around, I like them swept backwards. I converted a Dakini combi to a multi sniper. There's another Dakini combi conversion to HMG somewhere in the pile. The Ninja is one of the big conversions, turning a Ragik into a Tac-bow ninja with a bow made from sprue bits. and there's a proxy bounty hunter (the one with blue hair), which I think is a metal 'human interface'/'Unit 9' model.
Nice job so far. I've never dare to try to paint YJ's studio scheme. I'll have give it a go but don't see the opportunity coming soon.
Thanks! I haven't tried anything like this before, my painting skills aren't very good and I have no patience building colours up. I've noticed for me at least, building the colours like this looks awful and messy all the way up until the final edge highlights, then it looks just about 'right'. I usually get bored of it looking bad in the middle, give up, and move on to something else, but this thread has helped me to keep at it. I followed most of the studio scheme, but added 'sun yellow' after the 'scrofulous brown' to make it properly YELLOW.
I found that I actually learned a lot when following the studio scheme. My own Yu Jing armour originally was yellow-orange. But when I tried the studio scheme I found the colours blended better and I could more easily push the orange.
Yellow done, started cleaning and highlighting black, then realised i've still got all the green, brown, and other hard to reach bits to do first, that'll be the next job.
