I was around for both and as a Nomad player, I got the new Bakunin pack. And I definitely voiced my criticism about the penitent, the fantasy swords and the needless bloat with new units. But I was also quite happy with the majority of design decisions, including the sterner faces, less sexualized outfits, the choice of symbolism... Before that I also dropped my fair share of criticism for the stupid morat plank-swords and TAG.

Now I'm liking the reinforcements and definitely disliking the Lampshade Brigade (not you, nimrod, you are a good sniper boy), so this is what my feedback on the forum shows.

But okay, let's see if TB will bring new O-12 players to the board.

PS. People actually were pretty hyped for potential new O-12 sectorial. WarLore suggested something with Section Statera. The last campaign indicated that maybe something connected with the quantronic zones or the old O-12 forces on Concilium can be a good sectorial. Bureau Noir has also been regularly suggested, despite that imho it poorly fits for its own sectorial. The lukewarm welcome of Torchlight has nothing to do with some general O-12 unpopularity.

You don't need a History major to know what a Gladius or Spatha are, but it is quite weird having a policing force named "Gladius" if you know two bits about XX century European history

Are you suggesting complexity and expected volume of sales influence prices?

Just model complexity. He's claiming that the price is not only decided because of the amount of metal, but how many protrusions, complexity and pieces a model has.

Mind you, unless Infinity has a sufficient amount of whales, this would mean that complex and bulky designs make it an even more of a deluxe product, since it seems Corvus likes to go the complex and/or bulky design route. So they seem to aim for a reduced amount of clients, willing to pay a premium...

If you're selling everything you make, it's time to raise prices. :D

Carlos is, as he should be, not pointing out every single detail every single time. Sometimes things just get skipped over because they are probably too technical for most of their customers truly understand. Nothing Carlos says should be taken as an article of faith, he's not the final decision man.

As it has been pointed out in the past, a models complexity in parts, and the wear and tear of the mould affects cost, along with the amount of metal used in the model.

A complex model that has many parts creates a lot of manhours to be produced, shorted, bagged and be put into a box, if a model needs twice as many parts as another to be put into the box it many need 1,25 more time than the other model increasing cost, if a model tears up the mould after 10 castings instead of 50 it needs to absorb the mould cost faster than the other increasing cost.

There are several reasons why a model can cost more that are not related to how much more metal it has than another model.

Now with Size 2 models with thermoplastic backpacks...

We sure dodged a bullet there, when Corvus decided to add thermoplastic, eh? The miniatures would cost hundreds of eurobucks otherwise! -.-

Hmm. Are we in for a creeping change from metal to all-siocast in Infinity?

We had "tactical rock" in siocast on the Highlander Cateran just recently.
Now, we're seeing repetitive things like backpacks in siocast...

Now, siocast isn't my preferred material to process, but I can live with it.
Thing is, it is still kinda hit-and-miss. Of the models I worked with, there were those like Marut, with very nice firmness of the material, and a good fit. And then there was the most recent - Extreme Zellenkreiger - who wasn't all that firm, and who needed some greenstuff attention to fill the gaps.

CB should totally improve their Thermoplastic. I recently have a lot of problems with this material, especially in the Caskuda, who broke about 3 or 4 times just at being grabbed. I'm thinking on not buying the Anathematic due to this.

I think Infinity will depend on how Warcrow does. Because that is going to be all siocast. I’ve had little problems with siocast but I’ve only had a few figures that were made that way.

last month in a tournament, a friend's siocast marut dropped to the floor (not from to high) and she was DESTROYED. Only the feet stayed on the base. a little bit later, same with Agamemnon

I'm not going to pay the price when she is as fragile as a chinese copy

That is weird, I had to go to great lengths to bring Siocast miniatures to ruin...
