Now I'm likely to buy the REF troops! But now I'm not so sure REF troops will be in the new sectoral. However, most of them are only AVA1-2 or even max 1 in Starmada teams.

Jackboots get a duo in vanilla.

    Lots of additions to Starmada!
In addition to adding the troops, we also now have Psi-Cops count as Security fireteam. Very nice! Now we can have a KHD along with our HD Kappa. or, a MSV 1 MMR shooting on 16s and 19s in +3 range.

    Kappa team:
Jackboots are max 2, Vidoq and Ments are max 1. They are make them mixed teams. Vidoq get a MSV1 Sniper though!

    Bronze team:
Jackboots, Vidoq and Ments are max 1. But these are great additions to them.

    Chaksa team:
Jackboot max 1. No idea why but it's not bad! One of my favorite teams so far was Psi-Cops and Chaksa. This only makes more interesting to take.

    Nightshade
Gains Camo, FD+8". Pricy but really good I think. The KHD is going to get a lot of work.

I got the chance to play with the new troops tonight. Something to note! Nightshades do NOT have surprise attack! ☹️ I guess the didn't want them to be able to get off a -12 to the opponent with his para -6 CCW (-3 Martial arts, -6 PCCW, -3 surprise) instead just -9.

Not new but my first time using the Zeta. I love his range and climb+! I could stay almost along my back edge and still be at 0 mod.

I also had a Vidocq sniper in my kappa core. Sadly didn't get to do much. The same with a haris of JB engineer, Chaksa RF, Psi hacker.

The Harris I really want to try out is Ment+Bronze+Parvati. It’s a bit expensive, but super durable.

A bit bummed that the Vidocq is such a downgrade from the reinforcement option though

Supposedly they are supposed to still have the missing skills. This has not been confirmed though.

How are we supposed to know that? There's a few troops that are different from REF counterparts. As far as we know Vidocq have no skills compared to the REF version. There's nothing on my desktop or mobile version.

Well for once, except been the only profile that would have lost all their skills compared to their reinforcements counterpart, there is no points reduction to accommodate such tremendous skill loss.

In any case they have the same skills as their reinforcements counterparts.

That’s some good news! Vidocq is suddenly up in the ladder!

Anyway, to come back on the Harris:

    - Ment with Heavy riotstopper and assault pistol is really an interesting profile: if enemy dodges? Assault pistol 5B. He shoots back? Deposit 4 templates of heavy riotstopper to immobilize an entire team. Next order:
    - Bronze, and if anything goes
    - and if anything goes wrong: Parvati

The think I'm not liking with the REF troops is that they don't have climb+. But I guess that's only a problem with the Bronze.

I like the Jackboot with Chaksa. The Chaksa provide the heavy firepower and the Jackboot the specialist. I like the Engineer but the FO is not bad. I can also put in Pavarti, Shona, depending on the mission.

Chaksa can indeed bring some firepower for not such a huge cost. The AP spitfire is nothing to sneeze at.

But total immunity on a HI is just so good. Totally immune to flash bots, AP, EM grenades, cybermines, you name it. With a doctor/engineer closeby, there’s just so much anyone can do. As usual, you just have to be careful to not overextend too much.

And it has climbing plus :) but the price is quite hefty… A Parvati + bronze is more expensive than a Lt Zeta, and you’d still have to field a lieutenant

I got to play some of the new troops again last night vs Morats, playing Firefight. Unfortunately my opponent was very slow and we only got in one turn. He only had only two specialists and of course Kornak was the Lt. I went second and started my turn with only having lost a Kappa hacker. I used the Nightshade fairly aggressively. Especially when I knew we were not going to finish and just wanted to have fun. Super Jumping camo is fantastic, as I already knew from my Beasthunters in YJ. I managed to get across the board to assault his Dartok hacker. I then jumped on top of the building it was on to take him down in CC. We were now tied for killing specialist. I thought it was going to be suicide but I actually managed to make my ARM from a flame thrower and something else. I then went right into a Yaogat sniper and used the Para-6 CCW. I won but he managed to get a 3 on his PH save. I just wish I could have tried out some more but had to clean up and leave.

Finally got to play again on the weekend. Biotechvore vs. White Banner. Again I tried out the Jackboot. This time the ENG again. I found I don’t like the short range of the SMG at all. Also, the Immunity Total means almost nothing to a 1 wound, ARM3 guy. I’d rather he had no skills and be a little cheaper. If he at least had Dogged, I’d like it a bit more. Next time I’m going to try out the FO with Combi +1 Dmg. One thing I did like is the fact he’s a MI Veteran troop. He was able to accomplish two of my classified missions.

I also tried the Vidocq MSR in the Kappa team, but it went pretty bad. I set them up poorly and as soon as I moved, I lost three of my core, including it, to a Long Ya Flammenspear.

If you didn’t know already, the Vidocq now as his skills in Army. Right now, I don’t know how I feel about the Vidocq. I’ve only tried it twice. The NCO is great if I remember it lol. I’ve used the MSR twice but only useful once so far. The Doc though seems REALLY good. I can put him in a Bronze team to keep the Bronze going! Something I really want to try out. But then also NCO and MSV. I just wish he had a longer-range weapon. Picking the third is harder. I’d want to keep the cost down but want everyone effective at what they do. When I run a haris I don’t like guys that do nothing but give orders.

The Ment with burst 4 heavy riotstoper seems awesome, but the hacker seems like good back up for anyone trying to hack the Bronze. Also every single damn time I use a template, my enemy dodges it!!!

    BRONZE Red Fury(+1 Dam) / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon, PARA CC Weapon(-6). (1 | 54)
    VIDOCQ (Doctor) Boarding Shotgun ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 23)
    MENT (Hacker, Hacking Device) Light Shotgun ( ) / Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0.5 | 20)
    1.5 SWC | 97 Points

Then for a few points more I can upgrade to a Psi-Cop hacker.

    BRONZE Red Fury(+1 Dam) / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon, PARA CC Weapon(-6). (1 | 54)
    VIDOCQ (Doctor) Boarding Shotgun ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 23)
    PSI-COp (Hacker, Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser(+1B) ( ) / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 24)
    1.5 SWC | 101 Points

There's also the Tian Gou who I never used in WB and just as unlikely to use here but it's certainly possible. I find it to be a one trick pony that works rarely. It's great when it does but most of the time it just reveals itself and does nothing afterwards.

    BRONZE Red Fury(+1 Dam) / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon, PARA CC Weapon(-6). (1 | 54)
    VIDOCQ (Doctor) Boarding Shotgun ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 23)
TIAN GǑU FTO Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Jammer / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 22)
    1 SWC | 99 Points

I’m not sure to understand what you want to do with the Tian Gou? I think the best is having him as a KHD, and trick your opponent to make him think it’s either a hackable to troop (to lure its hacker), either a non hackable troop and make its hacker ARO anything else than reset or a hacking program to get rid of it

I'm not a fan of the TG myself. But of them I agree the KHD is good one. I put in the jammer just as an example. I think he could disguise as a secudriod and hope they don't notice the short movement.

Yeah I’m not a mega fan either. It’s a high risk unit, high reward and only if all the stars align (being: enemy is playing with hackers, hackers overextended, and you get to make a move that doesn’t look like a movement made purposefully for hacking)

I’m a bit exaggerating obviously, but as of the moment you have a pitcher, which you do have, and have competent KH (in Camo / hidden dep), which you do have also, I don’t see it as an absolute must-have

Surprisingly, many players do not notice the short movement, as long as it is done convincingly, I have run her several times as a Shang Ji hacker in duo with blue wolf and always managed to surprise my opponent (unfortunately surprise is not a skill included), but I get more usage from the non FTO KH pretending to be a LI Lieutenant option, unfortunately that option must not use her minelayer and holoprojector skills to be convincing.
