Anything in this thread would be superseded by FAQ 1.3 which changed how minelayer works N4 FAQVersion: 1.3, Nov 2022 Q: During your main part of the Deployment Phase, can you reposition Troopers, Deployables, etc? A: Yes, but as soon as you make a Roll, check Coherency, or ZoC, the positions of those Troopers, Deployables etc. are fixed and they cannot be repositioned. For example, you can reposition a Trooper as many times as you want, but after you create a Fireteam and adjust the placement of the Fireteam members during the Coherency Check, you can no longer reposition any member of that Fireteam. A: Yes, but your opponent must look away so that you can check the ZoC/Coherency without revealing Private Information. Related Pages: Coherency, Decoy, Deployment Phase, Holoecho State, Minelayer Order of Deployment is no longer important, note that the previous FAQ showing that you must measure as it is placed has been redacted on the wiki page to show it no longer applies. There is nothing in the current rules that say they have to be deployed at exactly the same time.
Yes, exactly. As I think. But the post was used in the way it was used, and Im sorry again to bother in the old theme. I just wanted to ask IJW directly because I do think that the thread is really old, and the phrase shouldn't be used in such direct way nowadays. With due respect to TO and rules teams. Thanks for your answer.
IJW is unlikely to answer directly for the reasons he expresses in this thread. However I do wonder how someone can justify trying to apply a ruling he made about an FAQ entry that has since been deleted.
With all respect, because the text around timing itself hasn't actually changed. So it's impossible to know if Ian rule didn't make it into the FAQ, OR if it was rejected and deleted. And if a rules source could actually confirm this, that would be excellent. Because at the moment it's impossible to know which forum rulings are still in effect and which are deleted. Deletions are invisible!
It's a clarification on an FAQ entry that is visible but redacted on the wiki. I don't get the logic where an interim forum clarification on a rule that has since been replaced entirely would still be legal.
But this: "For Minelayer, place the Trooper and Deployable at the same time and measure from either." Is a clarification to questions about that rule.
