Well, maybe put that in the article then. "statistics showed that this change wouldn't hurt vanilla Yu Jing's balance by much, as JSA units were not used very often if at all, therefore we chose to go ahead with it" There. Print it on a t shirt.
The separation of JSA from Yu Jing can open the design space of both the IA and JSA without having to de concerned with vanilla balance. Maybe they can now push their vision more aggressively. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
That's an outdated picture, the kitten has been shot by a Celestial Guard. MWAHAHAHA SEE THE FATE THAT AWAITS YOU ALL, REBEL SCUM! GLORY TO THE EVIL EMPIRE!
So JSA is leaving because nobody used them but is also leaving because having it and Invincible in Vanilla would be OP. Not directed at (individual you) you, but do you (general you) see how weird that sounds? May as well add "FOR THE EMPRAH!" Yu Jing Steel Rain when?
I don’t think those two statements necessarily contradict. Maybe it has to do with where they want to go with the units balance wise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
The idea that jettisoning some sectorials to free space to free space for new units without vanilla over-bloat is not good enough for you? Now I see this as general direction to all-sectorial game, but that`s my impression.
Agreed. And this doesn’t necessarily apply to all sectorial’s. Some align more tightly with the direction of the overall faction so new units don’t affect balance. But others CB might want to move in different directions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
You are so wrong if you think it is just few people. Most of us is just too tired to listen to, or even read for that matter, of insults, being called crybabies and all kinds of things from people who are either completely unaffected or only partially affected. In my group both of us YJ players decided to take a rest from CB and focus on other games. Too many people here assume that all players like same things, are excited by the same things, are not affected by the same things... If they see that someone else is concerned about things they are not concerned about at all, they ridicule them. I see many of you who do not care about fluff cannot possibly comprehend how someone could care so much about such an insignificant thing. My advice, observe and talk more to players around you to understand that in this hobby we are all quite different. Some people play competitively, others do not see any value in that. Some people do not play at all, just paint and collect. Many of you do not mind playing with "silver naked" metal miniatures, while others cannot stand looking at unpainted armies. Some people are making fluff in their heads and develop one faction specific identity (or even sectorial specific), others have 5 factions and shuffle among them as they feel. I thought that this community have some mutual respect for different type of players who are part of it. I was wrong. The lack of empathy among people who call themselves a community actually amazed me. After the flame war here I decided to take a break. Came back because I hoped the article would bring something to the table. I was wrong again.
People can play for whatever reason they like, but that does not mean the designers have to create it for that same reason. And unless and until CB sees the dire consequences people keep nattering on about, they will likely continue to follow their vision, rather than yours. And if you don't like their vision, you've options available.
I'll trust what I've seen in my own experience over what you claim to be the reality. The only exhaustion I've seen is at the unceasing caterwauling of those who someone feel they've been wronged by a company following and staying true to their vision for their for their own product, rather than that of a small portion of their players. And if you'd like me to take a listening tour, bully. Do the same.
Now this complaint I can understand. Having the rules change in the middle of a game can be frustrating. I don't participate in the ITS season, so I was not thinking of it. Shame on me. I am out of the loop, is there a cost associated with the ITS season? Because then I could fathom being royally pissed, and wanting my entry fee refunded. With the changes, I have to evaluate, is this game going some place I want to go? I have quit online games before that had changed from what I had originally signed up to play. It is a disappointing experience to have something you enjoy change into something you don't. Having looked at the possibilities of this split, I feel positive on the new direction, and feel like it will serve the game well. I am disappointed that some of my miniatures will be left on the shelf. Not so disappointed that I am out. If it becomes a habit of rearranging miniature rosters, so that it is more and more difficult to use my collection, then I will probably opt out as well. However we are not at the point yet, and considering the other rumored NAA sectorials, it actually looks like CB is working on providing even more options for using existing collections, even if in the short term there will be less options.
Nah, taking part in ITS is free. Tournaments, leagues and One-Shots (usually) aren't, but registering is free. At worst, there is a tournament in mid april I have to send lists in advance to, and I think one of them had a JSA troop in it, so if they release JSA in Adepticon I will have to send different lists after the deadline, which will be a minor annoyance.
I'm losing my only 8-6 specialist I'm losing my only Superior Infiltration I'm losing my only Super-Jump I'm losing half of my Minelayers I'm losing my only specialist with a 24" gun My CH: Camo AVA is going from 6 to 3 My Engineer/Doctor AVA is going from 3 to 1 My CC >20 units are going from 12 profiles to 5 I'm losing half my TAGs I'm losing my only access to CrazyKoalas I'm tired of hearing "you're not losing anything." It is the most tone-deaf, insulting thing I can hear from CB and other players. This is no longer going to be the faction I bought into, and it's one I'm not sure I have any interest in playing anymore. If the message was "Sorry Yu Jing, this sucks, but we have new things on the way, here are some of them," I would understand. But it's not. It's "you weren't using this anyway, so stop whining. This year is going to suck for you. Also, buy our new stuff." It's killing my desire to keep supporting this game.
Then play JSA. Your models are still useful, as long as you have the willingness to adjust slightly. And if CB's internal/proprietary data indicate taking the story where they want it to go will have an acceptable impact on the table top, well, that's what they're going to do, regardless of what anecdotal suffering folks relate here.
True, the second part is unnecessary. The first part has been confirmed, though. JSA frees up a slot in Yu Jing that is going to be filled soon. They didn't give any details (which wouldn't have made sense while promoting the new JSA), but it's definitely coming. We just have to be patient and I'm sure the upcoming stuff will more than make up for it :)
That`s at least 9 different choices. Have you really used all of them? You could easily be allowed mistakes that break any other faction roster. Sooooo sucks to be you))))
Corvus Belli statdumped Charisma for a high Intelligence game artificer build. Diplomacy wasn't even a class skill. They're not the party face but they sure can craft a good product for the group.
I find it interesting to see how people interpret a genocide in what the Imperial Agent says. Yes he adresses all Japanese to remind them what will happen to insurgent. He never says that they will slaughter all Japanese people, only those who betray the Empire. It may not be the best propaganda, but to me it clearly isn't a propagando for Yu Jing or the human Sphere, but a threat to the Japanese to not oppose their (Yu Jing)Empire. And as a threat it is quite well writen. For me Yu Jing does not become more evil with this, they just act as they did before and since the Japanese did not just declare their independence but forced it with weapons, it is an unterstandable reaction for Yu Jing for punishing them. How they will do this exactly, we will see when the book releases.
