With the demos coming out, information is starting to pour in about Infinity REM Racer, so here's a thread to talk about the game. The game where the Pano is no longer number one but 23! Website Infinity REM Racers here: https://infinitytheuniverse.com/games/rem-racers And BoardGameGeek: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/381741/rem-racers/ratings REM Racers: New Infinity racing board game. There is a new board game inspired by the renowned science fiction universe Infinity! It is a racing game for all audiences in which players will try to attack their rivals and dodge others to reach the finish line first. What is the game about? Drivers will try to cross the finish line and stay in the lead while surviving the attacks of their rivals. Using movement templates and equipment cards they will try to push the other vehicles off the track and avoid being destroyed themselves. Each player will take the role of a racer and operate their controller with the control pad. Each controller has its own stats and special abilities. In addition, all racers have access to equipment cards with weapons to create chaos on the track. Speed and adrenaline are the protagonists of the race. Strategies will be pushed to the limit and only the driver with the sharpest mind will come out on top. Where do REM Racers come from? Pilots and their remotes belong to the Infinity universe, and some of their names may ring a bell to anyone who has been following the wargame for some time. In fact, the idea of REM Racers was born many years ago by the hand of an Infinity player, Fernando Lago, who reading about these vehicles in the background of the wargame, imagined a whole system of rules for them. The Corvus Belli team worked with him to create the prototype we have today, with the characters and the visual style that comes with it. Miscellaneous information from studio updates - The game was born during the pandemic and was designed as an uncomplicated family game. - The boxes will all have 5 drones - The rem drivers characters are not exclusive to infinity n4, they were the first character concepts before they finally went in a chiibi direction. - In the demos they make, they make a simplified version, there is an advanced mode in the game. - Drivers are expected to take part in the race and be part of the pack. Each has his own personality: cool, very bad, very very good. There are turbos to throw at opponents. - It's a product that will go straight to the store, the game was born from an idea a gamer had a long, long time ago. Over the years, this game idea has grown. - It's like being on a racetrack, there's always an outsider, it's very, very colorful, very copious in material, it's a lot of fun. It's cute, it's very, very small, but it's a futuristic challenge, with a very Japanese aesthetic. But within the Infinity aesthetic. - It's a more casual/family friendly version of Gaslands from what I've seen, ready to play out the box and less deep customisation. From what people at Adepticon said it'll be good to play at the pub or with my mate's kids. - Expected in stores this Autumn 2023, there is no kickstarter for this release. However, we don't know if it will be distributed in French or Deutsh. Pilots in Infinity scale: Spoiler: Artworks Spoiler: Source 1 Spoiler: Source 2 Spoiler: Source 3 How can I try it? The Dice Abide did a review of his demo at Gencon during his show. I asked the AI to do a summary of what he said about it, I did a replay with what he really said, so normally no mirages. Late Night Wargames - Épisode 128 : John Leibee, auteur d'Infinity ! Summary by Aleph sub-AIs + And also a review from the discord: Pictures from demo Spoiler: Pictures So, I've shared with you all the information I've seen.
I can´t help myself, but i like this design :-D Can´t wait moving little drones with off-road weels across the board whilest doing silly electro-motor-noices.
It can be fun. And, being direct-to-stores rather than Kickstarted, it has a chance of being localized. Which is a must-have for me, given some people I would play this with don't speak English well enough to bother with cards and rules in a foreign language.
I also like the design and it looks like a fun game. I also hope there will be minis for the pilots in the future.
Very cool game, got to play a demo lap at Interplanetario. Didn't expecting the game to be that fun and quick to learn/play.
Indexing of the short Corvus Belli video made after the inteplanetario demos. REM Racers at Interplanetario
When would it be released? I've already free my budget and going to buy this instead of other stuff. (but I also hope, I would have enough time till the middle of november to gather some more...)
Brutal Cities has blogged about a return to the interplanetario. Here's the part about Rem Racers. Article: https://brutalcities.com/blogs/news/interplanetario-2023-tables-and-acherons-fall
The game is included in the November 2023 release list, so no French or German version is to be expected, as was the case for aristeia. CBREM03 REM Racers (EN) CBREM01 REM Racers (ES)
Pre-order available in UK too on wayland games and in Germany from Milan Spiele. Have ordered my copy but haven't tried the game - just assume it's good if it's from corvus Belli.
It's a lot of fun, very Mario Kart in style with Racers constantly picking up disposable weapons and items. Movement is X-Wing style with templates that slot into the front of the base, though there's more interesting shapes like drifts and slaloms. There's also a bump template which is used when the Rems inevitably collide with each other and send them off in random directions. Destruction is a slap on the wrist as you're sent back to the start of your current tile, and you can even use it to block opponents. Turns are fast once you get the hang of it and the game is pretty simple overall, I feel like I had a solid grasp of the rules after just a couple of turns. Each Racer has a once-per lap ability, and each REM has different ARM and BTS stats, so there's some player variety. I think it's a good game but also a good product as it adds a more casual, family friendly game to CB's catalogue. It's the first CB game I can see regularly taking to games night at the pub.
Looks like delays, just got an update I won't recieved it until 29th Feb 2024 . My Xmas gift to myself has become a birthday gift to myself
Looking through the product reference code, all distributors have indicated 2024, Warsenal continues to indicate delivery in November and there's no communication of a date change on their facebook page. This date rescheduling thing is weird, we were almost on the eve of the launch and no info from corvus either.
From what I have heard, dont trust Warsenal dates. No promos, no info, with 2 months for the supossed launch...
MOE games, another US retailer/distributor have REM Racers available for preorder with a November 30th expected release date.
That was the date I was given before it was updated yesterday so I suspect that will change. Maybe CB will explain the delays soon, I guess it must be some production issue as I would imagine everything is finalised by now.
