Chimeras are the apex of close combat prowess. They squash almost everything in CC and are by no means be the scale for good CC. Pheasants are acceptable in CC and are a deterrent for average Martial Artists.
There was a time they where dangerous in CC with the Monofilament weapons. But that Was back when crane agents where playable without hamstringing yourself.

Yeah, Pheasants are great all-rounder backfield support now. They finally fit what they were supposed to do.

Re: Chimerae, in the words of a great Ork warlord: "Fight the shooty ones an' shoot the fighty ones."

When my UFK get defanged in Bakunin, it's usually due to concentrated fire on the Chimera, often from a sneaky camo unit or a fast flanker.

Haetae has an obvious stand out profile.

    Hwarang perform about as expected.

Sulyong are excellent specialists, the FO profile is exceptionally well rounded and the Paramedic has the capacity to arrive exactly where they're needed to pick up one of our HI that went down. Cheap NCO is also extremely valuable for reinforcements in general.

Dokkaebi open new doors for the entire faction and they excel at missions that want you to scalpel a particular, usually well hidden and defended target, like on Decapitation or Cryogenics. The pitcher is that much of a big deal.

The red headed step child in all of the force is the Sulsa. It doesn't want to gunfight if it can avoid it, being armed with 8" rangebands when you're ARM 1 is just asking to get fucked over by DTWs the mimetism isn't really that useful. Their specialist profiles are also definitely outclassed by the Dokkaebi and the Sulyong, leaves them in a bit of a tough spot which is a shame I like their aesthetic and stupid hats. They would have a purpose if you could squeeze in a Hwarang pure core but you can't make it happen.

Overall 4/5 is a pretty fucking good strike rate, we also have one of the more flexible fireteam sets compared to other factions.

Haetae - not used yet. With the miniature coming out for it, it will be so a while until I prox it for testing.

Hwarang - only managed to use him propably in one game - charged, took a wound, but killed a HI with one stroke. I think they are good and useful for their price.

Sulyong - not used yet. Will proxy them with Bao.

Dokkaebi - good hacker - managed to put repeaters down and froze a HI so I could kill it with Jujak spitfire without having to worry about feedback (but I throw about 6 misses in two bursts ;-)

Sulsa - first time I realy used them it got critted by a Janissary in CC. But hey I tried (an managed to get predator anyway). Apart from this, what Triumph said. Short ranged weapons, mime-6 and the enemy troops carry templates is not what you want.

Jujaks - yeah we know them already, but they are good RF troops, because they are usualy start closer to bring their heavy flamethrower to the BBQ show. Spitfire and Sora Kwon bring NCO which is very useful.

Weibing - so long as they have Takimocho they are super useful - also in RF

Even without Tachimoto they're good. They're the cheapest link option and regular order, they wildcard, and placing a sensor/repeater into the midfield is generally a useful combo.

Due to circumstances, I’ve only been able to play one game. I also didn’t play them well but what I learned by that was that with such good CC troops I could make some pretty good assaults with the Hwarang and Sulsa. I just need to do it right. I used the Hwarang combi and that was also great. It’s like a mini Mk12. I just wish I could get in more than one or two. Unfortunately, it was my longest-range weapon and so from now on I’m going to be taking at least a SMR.

I’ve been thinking what is our best Reinforcements “shooter” for the points?

The new Rui Shi seems good with the normal BS12, but MSV1, Red Fury. It’s also a repeater. .5 SWC and 20pts is not bad. I just don’t like the size and being hackable. Not able to fireteam.

The Son-Bae is cheap BS12 Mk12, but hackable. But the FTO can fireteam.

The Sulyong is competing with itself as a specialist. Sometimes the specialist seems like a waste of a good BS and MSV.

The Haetae is fantastic but expensive.

The Dokkaebi Mk12 is only BS11 but Marksmanship is pretty cool. It’s also expensive.

So-Ra, Bixie, and the Jujaks are decent options too.

I agree with So-Ra SMR. I admittedly forgot Jujak. If there was a time to change the Jujak ML to a HRL, this was it! But of them you only have Spitfire and ML. Both are only 1-2 pts cheaper than the Haetae HRL. I would go with the Haetae if I have those points.

As others have said, Haetae guided HRL profile was awesome. Well worth the investment. Get Spotlights off during your reactive turns, then come in to nuke whatever didn't clear them. Or alternately just use the HRL directly, worked well for me.

Of the two "link glue" options, the Hwarang is my fave so far. Filling in the CC attack/defense well for cheap is a good role. I can get Jujaks in my main force, and will use So-Ra whenever I'd use a normal Jujak anyways (unless I need a drop-in Engineer to repair a TAG or REM-heavy force in my main group).

Re: your question about best shooter: Bixie, because her package comes with some much other stuff. My main decider between Bixie and So-Ra is whether the opposing force is hacking-heavy (then So-Ra w/ Tinbot) or if the terrain will require a lot of climbing/jumping (then Bixie).

I also just love Bixie because she plays like such a hero. Also her prominence gets opponents to focus on killing her, so you can use her excellent Dodge to soak orders during the reactive turn.

The other good option for a Reinforcements group is a Haris with a tough shooter and hacker to get a few Spotlights out, and then some Guided missiles outside the Haris to rain. Like this:

    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]4
Yáokòng SON-BAE REINF. (BS Attack [Guided]) Missile Launcher / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (1.5 | 16)
DOKKAEBI REINF. (Hacker, Killer Hacking Device [UPGRADE: Spotlight]) Combi Rifle, Pitcher ( ) / MULTI Pistol(+1B), PARA CC Weapon(-6). (0 | 25)
    SO-RA KWON REINF. Shock Marksman Rifle, E/M Mines ( | TinBot: Firewall [-6]) / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 36)
HWARANG REINF. Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust / Pistol, EXP CC Weapon. (0 | 23)

    1.5 SWC | 100 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Jujak has a Heavy Flamethrower and NCO, the Haetae doesn't have either of those. It's a viable alternative.

Jujak can also start a fireteam which the Haetae can't.

I think her Combi/Flamer loadout is made for RF. The heavy flamer close to the enemy is such a tempting option in my opinion. Jujak spitfire / HF is also very good. Sadly they are expensive so you can fit only two in a team of four. If you want tinbot also, its the BSG only. Time to upgrade it to a vulkan shotgun. And speaking of Jujak. ML guy is still watching the shelve ...

I like Bixie in my main force where I can feed her more orders. The thing I’m not liking at all about Reinforcements of any type is that I’m playing two small forces instead of one big one. Yeah, yeah, I know play 300+100 or whatever. I’ll see if anyone wants to do that. But then again my experience is one game so far.

The pre-order is up for Warsenal.

Here's some good images of the figures.

I'm disappointed in the beta pack. Again a missed opportunity to come out with the LRL version of Jeong. But at least now you can get him with just other Yu Jing troops. Before he was in a pack with CA.
I guess the same could be said for Kwon SMR and Jujak ENG. But it looks like the same happened for PanO.

Jeong has the miniature that more or less covers both his profiles.

The LSG of the Sulyong looks strange, but it seems to be the same weapon the Hwarang has, maybe its just the pose....but:
Why CB can not get their own loadouts right? Afaik one of the Sulyong was promoted as paramedic and the description on the shop site
    its also says:
but the paramedic has a SMG in in its loadout,
the shotgun is the FO :face_with_rolling_eyes: at least the FO is the better loadout, because it brings B+1, D-Charges and shock mines to the show.

Beta box is strange: Will they discontinue the Jujak box for that? At least they could use the opportunity to give Sora a MMR loadout and present us the Jujak engineer (while secretly updating his profile with a vulkan shotgun and give Jujaks imm.cont.dam.). But this looks like an hasted repack.

And why is the Yu Jing box 10,- € more expansive than the Pan O one? 10 gramms more metal in it? Very abstract values. While the Yj box in itself is well done from a design perspective, I wonder if it is worth 70 € for playing one gamemod that has certain issues.

What Yu Jing faction is everyone finding works best with Reinforcements? So far I’ve only played 2 games with it and both were ISS. I don’t seem to have as many problems making lists for ISS and somewhat with Vanilla. But I’m having a crappy time making them for WB and IA. A lot of it is due to the fireteams being so limited. ISS at least can take two haris. I don’t need to dissolve one team to make one with the Daebak come in. Vanilla kinda sucks because for the 250pts I can't seem to get in the troops that do well in vanilla without major sacrifices elsewhere.

I’ve abandoned pure core in White Banner for reinforcements.
Adding a Shang Ji AP HMG to a mixed zhanshi link only drops its potential by 2 points of BS.

Isn't this out yet? My local store has not gotten them and they usually get them on time. I'm not getting them myself but I'm curious.
