I'm ok with Tankos/Domaru being better as their faction is much more limited, hell, even Teutons, but I won't in a thousand years understand why that abomination the Cenobite is even exists.
Hwarang do get Stealth though, which is very useful in a close quarters HI, something Teutons and Cenobites lack.
Better's fine. Paying more for less is less fine. Don't get me wrong, though, Hwarang are still definitely of the troop type Bullshit Point System Cheater.
I hope the Dokkaebi is fairly cheap. Pretty much as I mentioned before, some forces are getting cheap troops to fill in that 100pts easier than others. They even have NCO to help with orders. For instance Sekban NCO and 14pt Koran. We of course still don’t know the Reinforcement price for existing troops like the Weibing, Bixie, Jujak, Rui Shi, etc. Speaking of Rui Shi, it will be nice to have that show up mid-field. I like the RS but that ARM0 can be bad sometimes. It easily goes down to template weapons.
It's really simple. Cenobites exist because elite, expensive, mimetic 1W fireteams struggle in a DTW over saturated metagame and they're a fix to make Reverend fireteams actually playable. Moiras and friends have been garbage forever, it's not a huge secret. For them to have a chance to be useful they require a 2W door kicker that has a chance to clear or at least trade against enemy DTWs. They have to be cheap though if the rest of the fireteam is paying 28-33 points for 1W models or the fireteam will be too expensive to run, so you wind up with a warband HI to do the job.
What the heck? Just compare these two profiles. First for aleph: TOTAL IMMUNE + DOGGED + remote presence + 6-4 move + dodge 16 + 2 chain rifle + ARO gun + 2 hits in CC or 1 c most dangerous weapon E/M CCW = 19 points for a model that does not die from 1-2 hits with any weapon and has a huge chance of simply destroying any model with 2 wounds Second for China: Worse move + worse dodge + 1 bs more + 1 wip more + 2 more armor + much easier to hack + 2w + one attack less in CC + only shotgun on cheapest mod + Frenzy to make it CHEAPER (LOL)= 22 pts for a model that you definitely don't want to shoot anyone with 12 bs and can easily die from one hit of DA or EXP or E/M mine (it is worse than death) Just what the hell? Do you want to sell more Blackwind? Do you want Chinese sectorial Army players to understand that they are completely non-competitive ? (Yes, IA, I'm looking at you) I may be a bit biased in my conclusions due to the shock I get from this BROKEN profile for ALEPH, but it certainly doesn't look like good game design.
You need to consider the overall state these are going into as they fireteam. The Tacbot is WIP12 with ECM -3, the Hwarang is going to be paired with -6 Tinbots while Aleph doesn't get access to them. In practice the Hwarang will be harder to hack. Total Immunity is generally more valuable on units that are high value. ARM1 1W dudes it's mostly glorified shock immunity. It's literally useless on the Dawon against the most common weaponry you're going to get hit by which is shotguns, HMGs, SMGs, Spitfires, Multirifles etc. The Dawon isn't particularly mind blowing tech. Out of the two the Hwarang is the better fireteam doorkicker, the real wound, better ARM, and the Shotgun paired with better native BS give it a better profile. Multi HMGs are expensive.
TOTAL IMMUNITY plays a huge role here precisely because the model has dogged You just ignore ANY two hits on you because you have Remote presence aleph has a tinbot -3, which in total also gives -6 for hacking If HWARANG is a cheap and good door kicker in a link team, then DAWON is a cheaper and better door kicker in a link team. HMG, jump and 1 armor + everything else in which guija is completely inferior to maximus definitely not worth 11 points above
Besides, shot against b2 13 bs The B3 18 shotgun is only 5.5 percent better than shooting B4 15 multi-pistol
Sulyong are literally a better Sekban and I don't think Dokkaebi are gonna be cheap, they look like Betatrooper/Secudroids to me
Buddy that's not how those rules work. Aleph has exactly 1 tinbot in their entire roster. It's on Hector. This isn't fireteaming with Hector. No it's not. Better ARM, better equipped guns, and a real 2 wounds make it superior. When they doorkick when the opponent Dodges the Dawon has to contest with what will be probably a BS15 multipistol if it's leading for a core. The Hwarang gets to contest the Dodge with BS19 on the shotgun, possibly even more but that depends on how the pure team core options shake out. The only special rule Maximus has that is actually interesting is Immunity POS, the rest of it is largely fluff and people are mostly paying 71 points for an AP Spitfire in disguise. The Blue Wolf has a better version of that with more Burst and Damage and nobody has lost their mind over that platform for the exact same cost of 71 points. People like those clueless hosts will lose their mind over all the junk on Maximus. He's really not that interesting when you actually break his statline down. Maximus lacking a DTW and short range weapon actively hurts him when he's going to be deployed into shorter range engagements.
The Guijia is obviously better. Maybe not by much, but it is better. Also, Karatebots are better than Hwarang offensively, but they die in droves to any template weapon, and those are being given like candy in N4. Also, Yu Jing stays as the Reinforcements winner so far simply because we got a pitcher (that presumably will get into some Sectorial natively also)
Buddy that's how this rule works. If we recalculate shooting against 13 Dodges, the difference is 5.1 percent. 89.8% for shotgun b3 19 84.7% for b4 15 pistol It's fair about the tinbot, because I didn't specify that I'm assuming that the profiles of these units will in a similar way go into regular armies, and not just reinforcements. Although I don’t think that anyone in their right mind would take Jujaks fireteam as reinforcements, because it looks much less interesting
Depends if the hits come at the same time. If it takes two wounds in the same order it can activate Dogged, requiring a third wound to kill it (or wait for the end of the turn, not too bad with a limited reinforcements order pool) If it receives just one wound it goes into Dogged, and any subsequent wound kills it outright, as per the Dogged rule.
