Domarus are BS 12 too. They have Dam +1 and shock on BS attack. CC 24 with MA3 and 20 pts for chain rifle/EM grenades and AP CCW. On pts more gets you E/M (best CCW). Also better PH and Berserk on top. So yeah the not Domaru are a bit more expensive in the overall package. I would think RF troops are a bit cheaper than their normal deployed counterparts. Because you use them only two turns, if not only one. Hwarang looks a bit meh compared to Domarus. The combi is tempting but expensive.
Yeah, now that I get the full look at them, and compared to others, they do seem pretty meh. When compared to other Frenzy HI, Teutonics and Domaru are better and cheaper. Riot Grrls are better shooters, and nothing can compare to the Asawira. But hey at least we finally have something? I guess. I doubt I'd take them not in a fireteam and never in vanilla. I again hope they have more offer when they show the full thing. I've tried making some lists with what we know of the rules. One group with a hard cap 250pts and 5SWC is hard. 100pts 2SWC is not easy to make at all. What I don't like in the first group: The Lt. needs to be in that first group. So that makes it easier to figure out who it is. You must take the comms link figure. Carlos said it's going to be a main trooper like a Zhanshi for example. So you are obligated to take that particular trooper. If you are going to use a fireteam in the reinforcements, you may not be able to in the main group. Assuming it counts towards the number of that fireteam you can take. For the second group With the prices we see as of now, the most I've been able to get into the 100pt team is 4. Other than the Yao Zao, the minimum points for a troop is 15pt Weibing AVA2. We of course don't know the Dokkaebi yet but i'm guessing they are the same price or more. I'm guessing the existing troops for Daebak are going to be cheaper than normal? Which in a way sucks that the ones we just see are going to be more expensive when not playing this. You are probably going to want a fireteam for the order efficiency OR have 3-4 order monkeys and 1 really good troop to get things done. BTW what are they thinking by having the Son Bae Missile bot in this group? It's at 0 Range as soon as it hits the ground.
Still struggling to see a reason I'd ever take a Jujak. Hwarang team is a better midfield threat, cheaper, and lets you take the Sulsa for pure composition. Not that pure composition bonus actually matters for our reinforcements because you'll only ever be able to afford 4 'pure' units in 100pts So then we're looking at a Haris (if you've already lost your main group one) and a solo unit maybe. A Hwarang combi (28), Sulsa Hacker (26), and Sulyong SMMR (28) comes to 82pts, allowing for a Weibing (I wouldn't want a Son-Bae that close, even in the guided role). Could do a cheaper Hwarang Haris for a solo Sulyong, Sulsa, or Dokkaebi. Depending on the Haetae profile and points, you'll probably only be able to afford one of them, the Hwarang, and a Weibing for that Haris. Unless the Haetae is over 62pts, then it's limited to only a duo. Bixie is great and this would be a fantastic way to get her to the midfield, but I'll likely already have taken her in the main group to NCO drag my murder Haris up the field.
Only reason I can see to take Jujak is the Tinbot. But then they can't link with the Haetae who would likely benefit the most from it. Also, another unit gets Immunity (Continuous) and still the poor Jujak left lacking
It keeps your guided missile bot safe from alpha strike, and let it come with its own 5 order pool to fire missiles! You can even afford one pitcher throw with a dokaebi. As for the other stuff, I'd say 2 weibing is already pretty much an auto include, especially if they keep the tachimoto rules around (which might be the case for the reinforcements profiles imo), but even if they're barebone they're still fast specialist with sensors and repeaters dropped right where they want to be, on top of being the cheapest orders for the group. A no brainer, really Considering how order starve the reinforcement group will be, any source of tactical awareness, as well as NCOs (especially in vanilla/IA for obvious reasons) will be very valuable: - Bixie can be pretty mean, on paper I can get her up to 8 orders with 2 weibings and a hwarang escort. - The sulyong profiles aren't that good imo, but he's the cheapest NCO and allows for a potential 9 order fireteam starting at mid-table. And last but not least, sulsa warriors are non-hackable troops, so pretty good for both IA and ISS. I'm not sure we'll see that many jujiaks, they're simply too expensive and don't come with what I see as mandatory for the reinforcement group to work properly: more orders. Then again, they could have other profiles. Likewise, if sora kwon ends up as an NCO she could be a pretty decent middle ground between bixie and the sulyong.
Jujaks: What about heavy flamer? BS13 but in the end very expensive. I miss some cheap impact like the Korsan from Haq. 14 pts chain +2 B / NBW - everyone that fail their dodge will suffer an EXP Dam 13 and if it manage to get in CC its also a thread for MA guys.
High chance the weibings lose their TacAw around the time this drops, new ITS season supposed to come around gencon usually.
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the tachimoto upgrade specifically for the reinforcements, and lose it otherwise. Those ITS rules have mostly been used as test bench so far, and it would seem coherent with the way reinforcements detachements are structured.
No idea why the Haqq guys don't have a thread for it. The new QK look fantastic. That Korsan is pretty insane. Some of them and some Yuan Yuan is going to be crazy fun.
Burtuks are just super supportive HI with cool side-weapons: HRL +1 Dam, E/Marat and Heavy Flamer +1 B Korsan are just ridiculous: Burst 3 - 4 chainrifle on 6-2 move for 14 pts - and your Hwarang had one chance to roll 13+ and if that is not enough he will stick to your base while negating your MA and you suffer a -3. This more effective than your 22 pts LSG trooper with ARM 3 and 2 W. Come on, this guy alone can make bloody mess of any LI fireteam, that dares to advance into the midfield. And CB put the LSG version in the box ... Okay enough Haq ex-course from me ;-)
Just saw the stat line was wrong for the Apaches. They are way worse than the Korsan! CC22, NBW, +1B AP CCW, NWI, Super Jump. This thing is over the top!
Yes Apaches are nice, not forget berserk ;-) but not 14 pts for B3 chain + CC capability. Korsans are not even frenzy. And btw: It looks like CB spreads NBW like candy Anyway. Just kill them first
Sure, Hwarangs look to punch below their weight, and most of the YJ stuff shown so far looks pretty basic in comparison to everything else, but the real story is in that pitcher. You can pretty much write off everything else that's been shown, the Dokkaebi opens up enormous opportunities for YJ gameplay.
It'd be really hard to mess that one up. Even if it came with such a non-sensically low BS, it's still able to haris up and lob B2 pitchers from half the table down deep into the enemy DZ on BS13 after range mods.
I watched the video finally and had a good laugh. You can see the moment that @Bostria twigs someone has given him the fucked up profiles in the slideshow again and is having quiet PTSD flashbacks while the two clueless hosts fail to pick up on the weird ass stats in the presentation.
Not going to lie, it looks like he had the soul sucked right out of him there for a few minutes. Poor dude just wants to hype up his game, and the guy running the powerpoint couldn't even get the slides right.
It's definitely not a CC Jujak. Not only because of the CC values drastically altering its role away from Zuyong, but also because the Zuyong family doesn't have Frenzy that drastically lower price and alters how they perform when solo.
