Hello, Quick post as I've received my Operation Blackwind box. It seems the Hoplite ARM value raised more than one eyebrow but seeing the miniature in person I realised it is not that big. Sorry, I did it rapidly, but I think it can be enough to appreciate the size. Next to a Thorakites. The Hoplite lack the shoulders, but they don't seem to make him much buffer than the Thorakites. Next to Achilles V2 Achilles is a head taller and bigger in all proportions.
Too bad, he's quite small for a heavy armor dude and ppl thought he would be S5 by the looks on the cover.
[joke mode on] I hate you for already having the box... [joke mode off] ... but I appreciate you for the comparison, it helps to get an idea of the real size of the troop. :)
Hello, There are Krakots and Kendrat. I kept the same color for armors in order to have a consistency with "regular" Morats, but other colors are swapped to represent the fact that Krakots are mercenaries so they don't use the same equipment. Also, size comparison pictures between Humans and Morats.
It is difficult holding an ax and firing a shooting weapon. It would have been better if there was an option to place the ax on their backs as well.
Nice cammo in the main parts, somehow it manages to look rather real. Any special trick? The plain pouches etc make the shape "readable", but the trousers and jacket have some kind of fuzziness that passes as in-scale cammo.
The camo is made using X-press colors to keep highlights that are not possible with normal paint, and shadows are added with washes. The process is the following: - base paint : stone grey with spots of beige - X-press, Contrast, etc (1 paint / 1 medium) : a light green and a brown - X-press, Contrast, etc (1 paint) : a dark green - paint : bone white little lines - wash : strong tone
Thank you! Almost 20 years painting Infinity (well, since the first miniatures, when was that?), I should try to find more old pictures. More reinforcements for my Merovingians. Group shot.
