Turns out we are getting a new sectorial - the Korean Daeback Force. So go get Your kimchi and heavy flamethrowers and get on board the hype train :-D More details by Boatria here: Edit: turns out it's not a new sectorial, but a bunch of Korean units as Reinforcements. Bear in mind Bostria mentioned You Jing is the best faction - can't argue with him there ;)
Not a sectorial, each faction is getting a selection of reinforcements that can be taken by other sectorials as a separate Combat group. It sounds like they might get some Deployment shenanigans too. So Daebak units can be taken by ISS, IA, or WB. Exrah can be taken by SEF, MAF, and Onyx, etc.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I hope that adequately conveys my excitement for Korean units. Now all they need to do is to get the sculpts right... Also, it's not a sectorial, but a selection of units that can be used under Reinforcement rules.
I’m looking forward to this. I’m going to assume this is also available to vanilla as well. I was a bit afraid at first when he started talking about it that they were going to give YJ another sectoral. Yes, that would have been cool. But I’d rather they work on what they have instead of making another. But in the future, I would not say NO to a Korean sectoral. I he also said the Jujak are already a part of the Reinforcements rule. So after this, there will be more Korean units than Imperial Navy. It seems that one thing the troops will all have in coming is some sort of speed component. That could be some sort of Combat Jump/Parachutist rule that allows them to come on the board from the one of the sides. But maybe not individually! It could be the whole group can do it at the same time!
What makes you say that? They already said Jujaks are part of the Daebak group and they don't have any of that.
Bostria hinted at some form of Deployment shenanigans for a Reinforcements Combat group in the video, but nothing concrete for a few weeks.
It could certainly just be in my head. I’m just thinking because of what was said for the Merovingian troops mentioned before, being the Rapid Response, other things Bostria said, thinking about how this new rule is going to work, etc. Jujak don’t have it currently, but it could be something they gain. He did say in the video that Jujak were one of the troops that were a part of Daebak.
Just wondering if someday we will have more of the asian elements! Jujak is Fire, Water Dragon is duh water. So, we still have Wood, Earth, and Metal to go.
Don't we have enough cliché in Infinity already? ^^ I'm really glad to see the korean part of Yu Jing finally receiving some love from CB but they really should hire someone to found better names for their armies... YJ is the obvious one with naming problems but the "Mérovingien" are not great too. "Equipe Argent" does not convey anything to a french speaker... and for what i know, the French army use feline name for most of their equipment or pretty much everything related to the military. I can only hope to see both the army (sectorial) having a quirk (or a doctrine? i can't recall the word.), the French Army is really about striking fast and strong. I don't know much about the korean but i know they have some really good and advanced equipment.
Yes and no. My army is probably doing bad due to bad Feng Shui! I need army to have the proper harmony to win! LOL. Yeah that's it! Yu Jing may give up hundreds of years of martial arts but they will never get rid of superstition!
I liked his comment about the Lt calling Reinforcement on the phone. It made me think of another game where the Captain had to roll WIP to call in air support. But that game was representing large scale combat. I really don't see how quick Infinity missions can have time to call in reinforcement and have it arrive. I expect that for sure you'll have to include them in your list prior to the game. Then, maybe, they can deploy with something like Airborne Deployment. I mean, yeah the Jujak doesn't have Parachutist; but if reinforcement deploys on round 2 in your DZ, then they'll be as useful as a failed combat jumper. Unless you were really in need of reinforcement, like you are being beaten up and all the bear/taigha action is already taking place in your DZ. Then having them deploy in your DZ might save the day in a sense (but likely not score any objective). Or maybe the reinforcement call reenactment was stuff that happened while the main army group were deployed. A call for help while they are on route to the mission. In that sense Reinforcement would play out as being fast, but only as fast as any ordinary deployment from the Rapid Response Force, Immediate Reaction Division, or any other sectorial/generic. I could see Reinforcement as merely replacing Solder of Fortune. But my overall feeling with the video, is that it will have some form of delayed Deployment shenanigan.
This might be a stereotype but all of my friends that are from Asia: China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan are superstitious to a level most here aren't. Those that were born in the US or came as children are not as superstitious or not at all. Some of it is religious but a lot is not.
Well, to me, Bostria talked a lot, and managed to not say very much. In a pretty typical Bostria fashion. However, given we're going to have it all in the rules in a month or two, I can simply wait.
Rules are extremely likely to drop on the 4th of August as that's the first day of Gen Con, with previews a week or two before.
Sounds reasonable enough :) But shouldn't we - in the spirit of this part of the forum - use that time to complain about something? I, for instance, have a funny feeling that the Nomads might receive better reinforcements than the rest of us :-P
Yes, I remember that. All that stuff about less of more fire energy in body - then drink something hot or cold... and so on. And that is interesting. They also got a law to protect some folk methods... very strange law. and Some believes in numbers. But now it is without system mostly.
After some research here is what we have: HAETAE: a mythical animal, a kind of lion with scales (looks like of Vietnamese or Chinese unicorns) playing a protective role. Is supposed to feed on fire: statutes erected in his honor to guard against urban fires. DOKKAEBI : Prankster spirit sometimes scary, sometimes ridiculous (kind of goblin) who embodies an inanimate object (probably a REM) HWARANG: school of instruction for an elite youth (exclusively male) called "flowery youth" (see logo). School under state supervision to train future executives. Learning martial arts, religion, administration... They also learned horseback riding and could be called "knights"... Who knows maybe bikers? SULSA: which can be translated as "wizard". Probably an elite with the red background of the logo. (KH?) SULYONG: "Water/snow dragon". Here also red background of the logo so probably an elite or a TAG if we refer to the name (TAG with AD?) Our Korean friends will be able to complete and correct of course. I leave you to your imagination. Have a nice day.
Nope, those are the diarrhea troopers from now on. (If they have shitty profiles to go with a shitty name so god help me)
