Why don't my pan-O opponents use hacking?

Although, funny enough, neither of those lists had the infamous Tinbot Firewall -6 that would 'make invalid' the proposed approachs in this very thread of how to attack by hacking those nomad hackers.

Right  but i did not want to start this discussion again, for without any CJC it is obviouse to not have this monstrosity of a non-counterplay-staple in there.
TBH as a nomad player myself, Vanilla nomad is the way more dangerous faction to play due to the excessive amount of options you have. Limiting yourself just for the sake of linkteams is something a lot of good players avoid (not that i am a good player)

edit.: sorry, thats not part of the discussion here.

I find the much more fascinating piece of info from those lists to be the Intruder HMG that is in both XD

Personally I have experienced the Intruder HMG be as ubiquitous for nomads as a single attack piece as it is the Epsilon HMG for 0-12. So it is not a surprise to see it there.

Intruder as the main attack piece is a classic evergreen and one of the most easy ways to tip the balance of F2F vs. everything without a MSV heavily into your favor. The chance of success is immensly high. I stopped using him frequently after i noticed how boring it is to play him. But he is the oldest trick in the book for good reason.

Check Page 1 of this thread before it got derailed by vitriol from another thread, there's a lot of fairly comprehensive posts from players on both sides of the argument. A lot whether PanO Hacking is worth it seems to come down to local meta judging by those posts; if you run into lots of top Hacking it's a painful slog that is best avoided but if your meta is light on both Nomads and CA (good luck) people seem to have enough fun with it to make up for the odd bad matchup.

Would it be a worthwhile exercise to discuss what options a PanO list has against such a strong hacking list? Should more people explore the Deployable Repeater croc man?

And that question you pose is the key. Was the player successful because of the list, or was the list successful because of the player? It's not unreasonable to presume that, ceteris paribus, a good player is going to have good results. And how was the list used? Was the Pitcher + Spotlight + GML combo the MVP, or was it never used? Where there some tables where it was great, others not so much, etc.?

I'm only following where you lead.

I think we all know what "solved" means in the context of a game. I've been careful to qualify my statements to avoid this kind of pedantic argument.

A game becomes "solved" when a few strategies become so dominant as to warp the entire metagame around them. This is what's happening to Infinity. There are two strategies that are so efficient they push other strategies out the window: GML Hacking lists, and "Big Boy" Alphastrike doomstacks. Players are forced to make significant accommodations in list construction, or risk a build order loss.

None of which is to say the meta won't continue developing slowly or that rogue lists can't find success.

Did you know, Lobo has stated he feels obligated to take this strategy to tournaments, because it is so dominant in his experience? It's discussed in one of his recent games on Tabletop Throwdown. https://www.youtube.com/@TheDiceAbideLIVE/videos

There are several elements on the Peacemaker's profile that differ from a Moran that make these kinds of claims laughable. If you've played Infinity, you would know that - so why are you claiming otherwise?

Mao won't care, Lobo will simultaneously be so good that it's entirely on-the-table skill that gives him his success, and so bad at the game that he can't be trusted to give his assessment of the meta lmao

Do you know when that was? I know this was his latest match: .

I thought for competition Lobo moved on to Kosmoflot and dual bears?

@Brokenwolf I can't remember off the top of my head, unfortunately. I don't think it was the starmada game. I guess recent might be relative, given how few videos they put out. He may have moved on to bears, they are another meta defining build.

What the fuck does the Moran have to do with the Peacemaker and your argument I replied to?

There wasn't even a mention of Moran. Why are we still bringing Morans and Nomads whining into this discussion?

Where have I claimed anything that relate the Peacemaker to the Moran, I haven't made any of claims like that, what the fuck?

The logical fallacies of the things you post are unreal.

The Peacemaker has DTW, its bot has DTW, the Peacemaker can still function a cornerguard role even while isolated (which was one of the laughable way you meantioned dealing with it).

"Never worried about Peacemakers, they're easy to deal with in this particular way."
"This particular way isn't very good at dealing with it actually"
"The Peacemaker differ from Morans, why are you claiming otherwise?"

    What the fuck lol.

I do not subscribe to the "solved" hypothesis, especially because I have seen it been claimed time and time again in all editions and it never materialized, why would this time be different?

I can understand that a local meta, however wide, can fall into a solved state for many reasons, lack of innovation, no new ideas, strong players establishing a gameplay that needs other strong players to show the way on how to beat it and complacency, all the above can be disrupted by another meta "invading" an established meta.

Satellites for example give another picture than the one established here.

Anything not in marker state or parachutist can be somewhat easily killed in the current GML meta. This doesn’t mean that PanO is at a bad spot. PanO has excellent marker state troopers (the previously mentioned croc mans being the best) and more importantly, access to multiple wildparrot profiles. My theory is that the reason we aren’t hearing stories how broken wildparrots are is because until very recently only PanO had access them and PanO players don’t want to abuse them.

I forget where I saw it so can’t track it down, but the joking nickname testers on the *receiving* end of WildParrots gave them was “HellParrots”.

I would hypothesize that the fact there were no models for most of the profiles that had wildparrots contributes to the fact.
