Um they do look at it. It still looks like a pistol. Especially with eyes like mine. Telling someone they should know my figures by sight is pretty rude. Especially when they are new to the game. Besides, I want a cool figure with a Feuerbach!

If you are looking for complete WYSIWYG then you have to get creative modelling it (manufacturer and therefore visual appearance probably is the same as on the ORC). What Psystorm is saying is entirely correct, however; the weapons modelled on the miniature are all part of the Feuerbach load out and the miniature has no weapons modelled that are not part of that load out.

Many weapons are hard to distinguish; a HMG and a Multi Rifle can be as difficult to tell the difference between as a Chain-Colt and a Heavy Pistol, even if it is easier on Krit since he's got three hand cannons, and even CB can't tell the difference between a Combi and Multi Rifle so we can't fault people for the same. The weapons still are distinctly different if you look closer and you can see that one of Krit's three revolvers look the same as the male Kanren's revolver (also a Chain Colt).

But at the end of the day Krit's miniature is still correct, Krit would've passed inspection even with N2-era's considerably less generous proxy rules (which is the reason so many older miniatures are depicted with only melee weapon or pistol showing).

I mean daily reminder that Kokram was born from a mistake because someone sculpted a dude instead of a woman for Tai Sheng.

Not that I'm complaining mind you, his half baked oh shit we gotta make something up profile eventually morphed into a powerhouse for the faction. Took So-Ra a little bit too and she smelled like a straight up accident as well in the beginning.

If only they went 3 for 3 and unfucked Gao as well.

It's a thread for wishing for profiles we don't have and I wish for that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The punchline is that Tai Sheng's the profile that became the joke.

I exaggerate slightly, but Tai Sheng (and arguably So-Ra) has got none of the awe that (N4) characters should have. They don't make good characters but they would make good units. Tai Sheng's statline is what an optimised Shanger statline would look like, in my opinion, her gear is even in line with the "reference*" Shangers

    * most units have them, they don't get used but it's fine.

I think Tai Sheng still has legs but Bixie definitely shoved her out of the core for me as the fireteam's designated 0-16" fighter. Bit more niche but having her captain a disposable Zhanshi Haris with the Mk12 profile is probably where I'm going to give her time next once I get back to IA. I'm pushing myself to stick with White Banner and Vanilla for the foreseeable future though to help with painting motivation.

With that said, So-Ra has been a big contributor for my White Banner lists. She doesn't have Bixie's flash but her price point for what her stat line delivers is excellent and she frequently excels as a pointman for Ye Mao fireteams or as a door kicker and body guard for a Shang Ji core.

She's honestly been pretty disgusting in a pure Shang Ji team, people do not enjoy trying to figure out how to engage a fireteam that's putting up a B2 Damage 15 heavy flamethrower.

On the other hand Bixie in both sectorials has been an excellent playmaker and a huge headache. C+ and dodging 4" on 18s with a credible melee threat is an absolute ball buster. She's basically pulls off what the Shikami in theory wishes it could do in terms of being a CC ninja.

They said they are going with a "design philosophy" that characters should be close to their troop but a little extra or different. Well they kinda accomplished that with some YJ to the point it's really not worth taking taking the character.

The faction actually has a pretty good strike rate at the moment for useful characters.

Group 1 are options that are good and generally viable.

Group 2 are niche picks. I can build a list around them for specific missions and they exist in that list for a reason, but they're not as easy to work with compared to group 1. The Adil profiles might actually be better than I'm giving them credit but I frankly need more play time with them to be sure on that.

Group 3 are characters with significant problems. We all know why Gao rides the short bus, Tao Wu just isn't worth 25 points for nothing but Counter Intel and ISS doesn't have the ability to actually utilise a holomask shell game because their roster lacks options you can obfuscate for (camo spam/Hidden Deployment etc). All of the Sun Tze fit in this category as well but I left them off as we were discussing more modern characters and they haven't had a real update beyond getting nerfed in forever.

I'd add Major Lunah to the group 1. She's a mercenary but she's only available to YJ. Taowu and Liang Kai are available to more than her.

This conversation made me realise So-Ra Kwon is not a "character" for the Army? Why? So she doesn't benefit from Long Service?

She's a Veteran trooper baseline but yeah it's pretty weird actually. @HellLois is this an error? Seems like one.

I was thinking that there is one troop they could still do a box set of. The Ye Mao. So far they've done the AP spitfire which is only in the action pack, and the Hacker. They could do set like the below. As usual CB baffles me that they haven't. It was one of only two fireteams before changes and now it can still be a fireteam but with a max of 3. Again no idea why. They really want only Shang Ji or Zhanshi to be it I guess. Now if they wanted to make it into a 4 figure box, they could add Bixie. She goes very well with the Ye Mao.

    YĚ MĀO (Engineer, Deactivator) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust, D-Charges ( | GizmoKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 31)
YĚ MĀO (Forward Observer) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust, Flash Pulse / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 28)
    YĚ MĀO Missile Launcher, Chain-colt / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 29)

Right, it's an error, She should be Character. I will ask to change it. But maybe it take a time to show it correctly, because we are working in the next army update.

At least she was already a veteran, so it didn’t effect anyone too much.

Speaking of her and Jujak, I hope in the future, Jujak could make a fireteam on their own someday. Right now, they have a max of 4 in a White Banner core fireteam. Ye Mao are a max of 3 as well. To me they are iconic WB troops but are regulated to being minor choices. I hope for this not because I think it’s necessarily a fantastic thing. I just think it’s more in theme with WB.

Jujak can do their own core, you just run 4 Jujak+So Ra who is also a Jujak

Ye Mao don't want to be a core on their own. They're not front line worthy enough material they're support troops. You need to mix them with some of the 2W brute force guys to make them work.

I would not mind a core to be honest, quite brutal and worthy on their own.

Like I said, I don’t think it’s necessarily great rules-wise. I just think it would be good as a part of the WB identity. They are troops that are iconic to the sectoral but they are shoved to the back by Shang Ji and Zhanshi. Both of which are already core fire teams in IA. It’s a nice to have, but never use sort of thing.

It's not, full 1W cores are crap even when they have all the toys in the world. Moiras have been garbage forever literally because they couldn't get enough 2W bruisers in the fireteam to help them break through enemy DTW/Deployable defenses and defend themselves from aggressors. The entire reason the Cenobites exist is to resolve that issue.

A pure core of Ye Mao would run into the exact same pitfalls.

This is literally a problem of playing 300 points not a Jujak problem, pure HI links generally aren't viable without massive arbitrary points cheats like what Teutons are putting on the table. They just cost too much and put too many resources into one location that is hyper vulnerable to being alpha struck and crippled.

IA runs into the exact same problem at 300 points Zuyong and/or/both Shang Ji cores just aren't viable either.
