That's incredible. Some of you even manage to be aggressive and whiny about THOUGHTS on what an HYPOTHETICAL new unit could be. Incredible. No wonder the forums are slowly being deserted, it really become complicated to avoid such toxic behaviours as they now spread basically eveywhere. Anyway... I'm SUPER hyped if these things come back. Never actually played with them (they were already gone when I started, beginning of N3) but I always loved the concept and the mini of that crazy airborne bio-TAG. I hope they'll keep a bit of what they were. I think they will. If not, it would make little sense reusing that Exrah name rather than just inventing a new race... W&S :)
I sincerely believe that asking for considerably unbalanced units for a faction that currently already is very unbalanced isn't good for the game. If the CB did this, would do the same mistake of the great English industry, which at a certain point, bringing out more and more senselessly powerful new units in order to sell models,it ended up ruining his own game with his hands, and had to start all over again with a new regulation.
Just chill, the game is gonna be OK. Please, explain to me how an "Albedo HI with lot of Movement, and perhaps with Total Immunity + EM Vulnerable" is intrinsically "very unbalanced". Well, too bad, you can't, because we didn't discuss, its weapon layout, the fact that it is a specialist or not, its other skills, its statline or even its points/SWC cost. Soooo, maybe we can agree that your reaction was a bit over the top and unwanted, that there is actually nothing to whine about and that we can instead discuss about "Exrah, out new wet dream"? Good... ;)
The thing I want to see the most from return of the exrah is a re-imagining of cascuda, ideally with an emphasis on close range weapons and combat Jump (+1(or+2, it's a TAG after all) Damage), something like a heavy shotgun (+1B), I missed out on playing N2 but dropping a TAG from orbit seems fun, especially if it'll have a suitable weapon instead of a multi-hmg, but I'm not sure how much of the old exrah rules will actually reappear in N4 or will be something entirely new, and I do hope that there won't be too much of a lean on sectorial exclusive units like with MO or Bakunin, I much prefer the way of shasvastii and morats with some exclusive profiles like a LT+1 order Kornak or MSR Haiduk, I'm still just a tiny bit salty about gwailo, I'd love to play an MSV2 HRL in vanilla, but oh well.
It's easy to ask questions and get answers before someone else does. Do you really need to know if he is also a specialist or does he have other rules? Of course those who are full of gold even throw away silver, I understand. Anyway, forgive my intervention, it was just a slightly heated intervention, I certainly didn't think I was breaking your dreams. I will not insist.
Me also! I would love Sygmaa, Exrah and/or Ur as Sectorial Army. I also think that this is the way, not nerfing the whole profile but some loadouts. BTW, I would also love this kind of profile. A "light" TAG with a "cheap" profile and no other thing besides Heavy Shotgun with a lot of dmg or that kind of stuff. Could be really interesting to see in the game! No one of us is looking forward unbalanced units. Im in the club of "remove Avatar" (even I don't find it like an uberthreat btw, this is the Polaris) and I have played CA for more than 8 years. Im inside the club of adding variety, new ways of playing this game and a rich metagame for everyone. I won't find a Albedo Total Inmunity HI as something broken if it carries enough cost in points/SWC, and think about something like BTS 3 and E/M Vulnerability. Is not more broken than a Bronze, who has needed to be provided with a sightly buff in the last army patch. So please, for everyone reading this post, keep in mind that statement, and don't be that aggro with a profile hypothesis.
But paying for that NWI ofc. Sounds like "just grab few good models and play them in vanilla" "basic" units with cost of MI... you're right, it would be extremely annoying!
Is exrah supposed to be a whole new sectoral or are they adding them to vanilla and hopefully Onyx. I really hope it it's not a new one. They should concentrate on what they have, like Onyx.
We don't know, but based on the video, they compared the Exrah to the Navy and the other sectorals to other branches of the Military. Bakunin, Starmada, and the comments from @Koni seem to point on them wanting sectorals to be more distinct from Vanilla with unique units and profiles. We will see what it looks like.
Right now many of the sectorals have Navy troops. For example Yu Jing has Tian Gou and Haidao. O-12 has Raven Eye. QK is already Navy based (I hope they get a re-do because of this).
Are you guys absolutely, positively sure it is Exrach coming back to Infinity? Because IIRC, in the vid, this bit was presented back-to-back with the explaination of them being the CA Navy, and an announcement of the starship combat wargame. Which made me think the Exrach Commissariate were meant for the naval game - not for Infinity itself. Not that I wouldn't like ot see them back in the game, so I hope I am misinterpreting stuff, but...
Well Im 90% sure that it refers to Infinity. When the seminar and video start talking about Exrah, it was at the time at Bostria (Carlos) started talking about new things that will come back in the next book. Then, this section finished and started with the annoucement of Acheron's Falls. So yes, Im practically sure about an Exrah comeback (but not sure about a sectorial army tho, but I wish it)
As much as I want Exrah back in Infinity, I don’t want another sectoral. I think CA already has a too many figures to keep up with. So I hope that the bulk of them is fighting in space and just a few of them will do boarding actions or fight on the ground. Vanilla would have them, and they could add them to Onyx, maybe one even Morats and Shasvastii as Navy pilots or something.
I 100% agree on the need to stop the influx of new sectorials before fixing existing problems. I wouldn't add more to vanilla, though. If anything, I'd like the sectorials to have access to more tools unavailable to vanilla factions.
IMO, Exrah, Sygmaa or Ur as future Sectorial Armies are far more necesary in a lorewise perspective than many other sectorial (Im looking at you, Kosmoflot) in the game. In fact, I will be the discordant tone of this convo because I want to see more CA sectorial. If Vainilla is your problem, the key is just to ban certain future new profiles/loadouts there or just make them more expensive.
I disagree, Kosmoflot is one of the most important sectorials lorewise, Ariadna becoming a space worthy faction and its struggles is a keystone for their development. UR is something we will probably never see and do not need to see, a sectorial of them is even more unnecessary.
