It was the year 2008, Corvus Belli had not long since launched Infinity, and a character known as "El TOPO" was roaming the forums, starring in some comic strips by the great Carlos Bostria... (you can grave dig for the old comic strips... there were "things" happening between Uxia and this character) Rumor has it that a miniature of that character even existed... modeled in green putty and cast in such an exclusive run that only 20 copies of the miniature were made... which, by the way, was as terrifying as the "character" it was inspired by. A lot of time has passed since 2008, and in these 15 years, technology has completely changed the miniature design model. I am now learning ZBrush (let's see if I can keep up the momentum) and I have just finished my second attempt at a miniature, much better than the first one (it seems that you can actually gain some skill with practice, who would know!), although it still has some noobish modeling issues I really like the results. There are yet a lot of things to sharpen and enhance but... I don't want to spend hours reshaping and working on every single detail of the miniature, this is just stretching muscles and learning from the mistakes. Lots of lessons learned after the first print. In broad strokes, it's the character of the TOPO, with all its details, its oversized boarding shotgun with grenade launcher to "compensate" for any physical shortcomings, tactical butt crack, and the international symbol of the "snail" that even a Morat understands! I hope you enjoy it. You can download it here: https://cults3d.com/en/users/TopoSolitarioCrafts/creations
xd, I saw it yesterday I laughed well, here are the comic strip from Bostria to put this character in its context of the time. Spoiler: Bostria Comic Strip: The Mole
Ah! that comic strips... I know that TOPO and UXIA finally were going to be somehow closer to each other in the comics... Love is the more powerful weapon in the universe! I had tryed ZBRUSH on my own 3 different times, smashing my head against the interface. Finally I got a quick course, with some good points and many flaws... but perfect to get into the program and (at least) know what to expetc, what to look for and understand what they're doing in youtube videos and tutorials. I've created another Infinity miniature hyped by the incoming Rem Racers Game... I'll upload another post about it.
