Not riot-stopper police - prison guards in riot gear. That's the vibe I get from their fluff. Correctional Response Unit. And yes, thick armors, riot shields and melee weapons seem kinda standard equipment for riot-supression teams of prison guard.
All Bakunin miniatures excepted Kusanagi, Zoe/Pi-Well and Rot Grrls are now in last chance to buy (and the Taskmaster in the C1 booster pack).
Well, TFG the Riots are still in. Bakunin is in a really good spot for me right now, especially the Riots/Avi/Fiddler link, just tabled a very skilled opponent with them last night in Frostbyte. If they cut Riots with the reboot, I would lose my shit.
Riot Grrls are so iconic, so I doubt they were going anywhere. I could see their linkability with Moderators changing though. I am looking forward to the next Studio Update!
Really hoping they are not spending effort on resculpting the Moderators again: hope it’s just a repack there. Also definitely going to pick up some of the current Uberfalls, assuming we can still field 2 or more units of them after the reboot. Uberfalls are AMAZING, especially in a sectorial with no White Noise.
You hate playing -with- them, or playing against them? I make good lists without Riots a lot. Playing a Bakunin list that focuses entirely on skirmishers is legit. You can get a lot of stuff in the midfield when you spend zero points on Riots. Spoiler: Sneaky Bakunin no Riots army code gfcHYmFrdW5pbhFNaWRmaWVsZCBubyBSaW90c4EsAgELAYGhAQQAAoGsAQEAA4GRAQQABIGRAQUABYGRAQQABoGeAQUAB4GeAQYACIGeAQkACYGeAQEACoGVAQEAC4GpAQEAAgUBgaEBBQACgw0BBAADgZMBAQAEgZMBAwAFgZoBAQA=
Wait, you could maker good list witch them in N3 (when they were BS12 and 200+pts)? Like, before HSN3 and price drop???
Well that makes one of us. I love them and find the fluff and play both awesome. Heavily-armed anarcho-feminists allied with mad scientists and furries is one of the more interesting concepts in Infinity IMO.
Well, hopefully the rework will bring some fresh air to the army composition / internal balance between units.
Just making the nuns not die to templates easily would add a lot more variety. Giving them an option to mix with Moderators as well would make it an A/B choice vs. Riots, especially with a Mim -6 sniper option.
They have CC Attack +3, and Para CCW -6, so the shield and baton represent that combo well. They are also great for representing the +1 Burst Flash Pulse for the profiles that have it.
It will make noise of pain - the box is listed at CB shop for 60,- € ! The Alpha box is 33,- € for 3.25 Minis and now + 0.75 minis more for 27,- € more ?! Its nearly double the price They will. Look at Winter Fusiler/Zhanshi and Alguaciles.
I’m happy to pay that to support the rules and story development, as well as the increased cost of production these days. Infinity has a pretty low cost for models needed to get a force going and keep it current. And we don’t pay for rules, ITS, etc. at all. Despite that low cost for a very complete hobby, CB has to stay in business to keep supporting the game. They’re small for a company which both designs and manufactures, relatively efficient, and not trying to blow up their product prices and sell to Hasbro or something. Their business model is not exploitative, and they are nice folks. I’ve probably spent $120-150 on the game this year because I have most of what I need (I buy random stuff from local game stores to support them too when I use their tables). I’ll double that with Bakunin reboot, but am super happy to help keep CB in business. $100 per player per year is maybe sustainable, but definitely not CB laughing their way to the bank. If you love the game, support the business in whatever way you can. If you’re poor, enjoy the free stuff and proxy a lot: we’ve all been there and there’s nothing wrong with being poor ✊. But if you can afford to buy stuff from shitty corporations like 40K or MTG, don’t “nickel and dime” a good company like CB for raising their prices on packs we buy 2 or 3 of per year.
I am not. Double the price of the Alpha box - for what?! I also have to pay higher "producing" cost for myself. Heat, fuel, food, rent all get up. I appreciate that they make the rules for free and I willing paid the rules (and the fluff) in the printed version. I am sure CB has their outcome already. My annual expenses for CB are much higher and there are a lot of people like me that buy much stuff because they are collectors and have 4+ factions/sectorials. But this pricing looks incomprehensable for me. I don´t want to discuss pricing here in general and I don´t want to compare to other miniature companys - I just want to point out, that this price raise is step too steep for my feeling.
I agree the corregidor box is pricey. If I had to venture a guess part of that is just due to the production cost and bulk of the models, the lobo shield alone probably uses a similar amount of pewter as a zondbot. I would be upset if these were our new regular prices, but I can at least see a rationale for the price of these guys. As for the rules, lobos are super not exciting. Which is a shame. But they're not horrible either, the cheap one's are pretty good against units that are "good" in CC, and the red fury has NCO which is nice to have in a link. I played a random list (randomly generated list) to help a buddy practice for a rando event and the red fury one was useful even if not optimal.
Could be worse. They could sculpt a totally new line infantry, with basically the same stats as the moderators, but with other name. Ah, and keep both troops in the army instead of axing the moderators
