Oh yeah, it definitely went to someone who appreciate them a lot and would put them to extensive gameplay use ;) My current forces allow me to come back to infinity at any time, full strength so I only wait for a right moment and maybe some inspiration. I went back to Warhammer 40,000. The game evolved a lot since I last played (up to the very end of 6th edition). I do enjoy it greatly. I also branched out to Kill Team, which is solid. Aside from these two I started playing Kings of War: Armada, which is a naval fantasy game. Somehow I've managed to play all three on regular basis which made me feel like a kid again. I do enjoy the break from Infinity even though I sometimes miss the 3rd ed. gameplay. 4th... not so much to be fair. Who knows - maybe Bakunin will pull me back :P
I hope those exertions will be great fun for you. What factions in 40k, Killteam, & KOW:Armada do you play as? I'm thinking of a couple of faction to try out Killteam with but no definant choice has been made on my end.
I play Pano, ekhm, I meant Space Marines in 40k and KillTeam alike. I know it's not very original, but for what it's worth I've been a SM player for 25 years now :P You can see the current army here if you're interested: https://scarhandpainting.com/gallery/gallery-crimson-fists-2203/ For Armada I play most factions and currently run five fully painted fleets. The game is relatively cheap and the fleets are small. My main is the Empire of Dust. https://scarhandpainting.com/gallery/gallery-armada-empire-of-dust-2104/ With Infinity I wish I could put my hands of the limited ed. Shikami - awesome miniature. Would fit my Yu-Jing theme perfectly. I still try to grab any awesome looking miniature that comes out in order to put all of them together at some point. Oh how I wish there were more Tibetan themed miniatures - or like a full sectorial. Some montks, big round chaplets around their necks etc. Shaolin Monks and Shikami are imho some of the best looking minis in the entire range.
Wow!! Your examples are amazing to look at. I think there is something to like in all 40k factions hobbywise. I'd have to reread some summaries on Lexcanium to remember which of GW's created froces are my favorites in certain factions. I do remember The Scourged being a favorite Chaos Warband due to their lore. As for fallen Legions Emepror's Children, Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus, Word Bearers since their is piece of me in each of them. I'm looking forward to EC's future codex to see what unique stuff & skills they will get. Loyalists that I'm like personality wise are Ultramarines & Imperial Fists. Their seed chapters are so many that I'd have to reread their lores. The other Loyalists are also interesting in their own ways. Out of the original 18 legions (would have to think on what a custom made Legion/Primarch would be), I'd think I would go with Emperor's Children first out of all the Legions. Love their colors and look. Combine Emperor's Children bits with Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard bits and that would be a perfect style merge in my opinion. I'd like to make an EC+BA Killteam maybe with a white marble or alabaster coloring. A secondary choice among the Traitors would be the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus second. For the Loyalist it could be any of the 8. I need to review the unique units & rules for the 30k versions of the Astartes before I make definant choice. Imperial Guard I need to reread the many regiments and remember which ones I liked. The Fusiliers was one design I liked alot. The Militarum of 30k could be an interesting era to custom create a force or Killteam from. For Xenos my top favorite is Tau. Though I do like most of the alien factions but Eldar are my least favorite of the bunch. Orkz are one of the few Xenos that can be used for 30k or 40k. Genestealer Cults are great hobbywise. I really like the conversion possibilities the the bio-organic Tyranids can provide. Both in the main beast of the main faction & the Human/Alien infected of the Cults. Then the Votann are my new favorites of all the factions. I really like the new take and most of the lore behind Squats/Dwarves in space. I'm waiting on Killteam rules for them before I start buying up units & parts for a small League force. Votann, Tau, Tyranids, Emperor's Children, Chaos Warband, Imperium Chapter/Regiment.
Thank you. I wouldn't be where I am today as a painter if not for Infinity the Game. Painting Corvus Belli miniatures was a stepping stone in my personal transformation. It allowed my to not only up my brush game, but also find a personal style. I think the best example of pre and post Infinity paint jobs is this: One is right before I started playing Infinity and the other is right after I switched to 40k. Wow - you seem to favor a lot of factions :P Personally I love some of these. Each have a lot of flavor. Still I am a huge sucker for the poster boys, even though am not much into all the gothic adornments and prefer a bit more savage approach.
That is a huge jump in quality. I'm very happy that you are pleased with your progress over the years.
There is a little bit in each faction that gets the brains juices going. At one time I had created a custom Chapter, Warband, Sept, Regiment, WAAAGH!!!, Dynasty, Hive Fleet, Kabal, Coven, etc...for each faction of 40k. Even some for Fantasy like Ogre Kingdoms. Today I'm focusing on a custom Votann League lore that I'd like for a future Space Dwarf killteam.
Commissions made a full circle and once again I have landed a Critical Hit against Infinity the Game. Happy to be back with more projects to show you. Here's one: Panoceania Military Orders, painted lvl 3 "Fast & Furious" which was quite challenging. Most miniatures arrived battered and required paint stripping and in some cases even missing bitz replacement. Fortunately I had a lot of Pano antennas in my collection :P Full gallery: Infinity Military Orders
Amazing design. I always find it hard to paint in Black and white and everything between without turning out boring, but the red lenses and spare use of strong white and black as extremes prevent that. and i realy like the convertions (Posthumanic Teutons), the little footprints on the montesas base and the odd looking guy behind the fusilier =)
Thanks! Montesa base is something I designed for Gingermane studio some time ago. It's from a "Kitty Bases" set. The MO collection came in with a wide range of semi random bases so I used what I had. It's funny how a coherent color scheme made them look pretty similar, even though there's over half a dozen different sets mixed in. As for the odd looking guy - this is basically Me! I have a custom made Scarhandpainting mini that I like to give to my customers. Usually mass painted, this time around painted alongside the commission to fit the theme XD
Another project, this time a singular miniature. I rarely paint single minis these days, specialize in army painting - but it is a very interesting experience. Full gallery: Ninja
Goes a long way to prove how an uniform color scheme can bring a force together! As I've been taught once, "troops may look like shit, but they are to be uniform about it!" (pol. "wojsko może wyglądać chujowo, ale ma wyglądać jednakowo!" - pardon my Klatchian, but I'm quoting the battalion commander verbatim).
Not that I dislike the new Minis, but GW realy made some hard and unconventional cuts with the new Crimson Fist design
LOL yeah, I put these into the master file and forgot to change description - it never fails to amuse me when someone points this out
Those bases are amazing. Do you have a tutorial on them or will you be producing one? I've been trying to get bases that somewhat look like the ones above.
Thanks man! Funny thing is that I made a tutorial, came here to post it yesterday evening but forum was offline. It really makes my day to see demand for it. Thanks. Tutorial: Swamp Bases
