Oh, yeah. I totally misssed that. They could push that as an *EXCLUSIVE* LE pilot model for the game bundle or next Kickstarter.
I'm kind of sad that this will be 3 Adepticons in a row I've bought nothing for Infinity. I actually like both Mary Problems for different reasons. The first one almost looks like it's missing something. Like she's supposed to be standing against a wall. Again I have a hard time understanding why they are coming out with a Yuan Yuan. Yes he looks fantastic, but he's only going to be selling to those that want him because he looks cool. He does make me want to break out my Ikari but Ikari is one of those every once in a while forces to play for me. Does this count as support for QK? Meanwhile, YJ has been needing a Guilang hacker for years.
Maybe this is better in the Nomad-Forum but anyway: As I looked closer to the renders of the "fireteam" box for Nomads, I realised: There is no SWC weapon included (you can use the "wildcard" Lobo with the CCW) and you can not form a pure 5 man correctional team, because no one else has this keyword. So its more like a "fireteam filler box". You can put a Lobo (or two) into an Aluga core or put a Diablo together with two Jaguars. For a haris it seems okay. Speaking of Lobos, there are 4 loadouts. Each has a sligthly, but different role. BSG - who could be - imho - left out if needed for CQB Combi - who has a B3 ADHL in a fireteam, which is pretty unique Breaker (the one on the right) - who brings a big riot stopper and is a specialst RF - who brings burst So why not a box of four Lobos? They even have AVA 4. If you will play all four in a team is a diffrent thing. Yes I realise that CB like to bring us mixed boxes, but this one looks like its only half. The Diablo side is fine. SMG and LSG are the cheapest and therefore will be taken often. But except you plan to bring a impeteous CC bomb to your opponent you will not often include both in a fireteam.
A lot of "X is the same pose" aren't actually the same if you look at the details of the body positioning. I'm in a discord where people complain about dramatic rider-on-a-horse posing and the customary response is to link this painting of Napoleon: There really are only so many "reasonable" poses to go around. At some point you either re-use a concept, or you have to go with stranger and stranger contortions of the human form.
While that's a valid point, I am putting together model identifier sheets for everything that is oop right now, and there are some really fantastic while realistic poses in those old N1 and N2 sculpts that could be re-imagined with new technology. Look at the old Ragik for example, or the old Naffatûn.
We've had loads of yuan's over the years. It's really unnecessary! When there's still tons of missing models for factions that have been out ages it seems a bit daft
Loads of yuans yuans... Only 2 for regular release. In a blister. Since N1. Until the resculpt of the girl yuan in the past months
I've got two originals, two fat yuans, the ltd one and the new female one, plus then there's this release. That's about as many uxias as we have and she's already meme status
The limitation is rather "reasonable poses out of the portfolio of 'combat poses deemed appropriate by the gamer consensus'. You can do a lot of non-standard poses which will be fairly unique, but they may not be to everyone's liking not because they're unreasonable, but because they're non-standard. Sometime's it's a hit, like the Hunzakuts, for example.
Good for you, but i repeat. Only 2 of all yuans were not limited edition, and were prehistoric sculpts
It could also be a case of "It's what the sculptor felt like doing". Yeah great way to run a business.
Repeated poses are there to save time/money and nothing else. You can pretend it is not so by making excuses for CB, though I don't see the point. And they do save nice money by doing this, because it saves time for both the sculptor and the mold making trial and error. So it is somewhat understandable from a business standpoint. My only issue is that they are repeating them too soon, at least space them out, repeat them after a 18 months or so, not just months apart. And don't repeat them within a faction anymore please.
You would think that. Most companies would put a lot of work in to that. However, CB seems to almost throw darts to see what's coming out sometimes. YY is one of them. It's not in any popular faction and not even popular within those factions. In Ikari you are more likely to use a Desperado, in Druze it's hard to fit. So this is going to to sell purely on coolness. Which it does have at least. Then sometimes they come out with a figure for a faction and it's not the one most people are going to use and it's pretty obvious which is better. Which is ok but not optimal. I've used the Liu Xing hacker as an actual hacker twice since it came out years ago. Mostly it's the spitfire proxy.
Here is a good overview about the Yuans. Regular was the blister with female & male and the actual couple which has separate blisters. Fat Yuan has three two in the box, one over Defiance. Lim.Ed. BSG came with Red Veil. Too big and too expensive X-Mas mini was the biker Yuan. For ages there was a HI Yuan, also lim.ed.
