I was excited by the triconda to begin with, but then I noticed that once you've spent your 2swc and your 94pts you are left with a vastly inferior version of the Blue Wolf. (Ie a BS14 B5 ap-spitfire, but without the 3rd point of structure, or the berserk, or smaller base, or dodge on 13s.) I know, comparisons outside of factions are rarely useful but yeah, I think it's a trap, especially as we lack the hacker support to even be able to throw fairydust on the thing. I'm afraid that I think the Draal haris is still the right partner for tricore most of the time ...
Well, you also get Sixth Sense, two extra specialists and two regular orders for ~11 points each, but I take your meaning. It might be that I'm letting hope cloud my judgement, but I'd really like there to be more to the Fireteam shakeup for us than 'TriCore got worse, most common fireteam got more expensive, please buy the Longarm box'!
If you're gonna do it you're taking the HMG because it opens up a competent 32" range option that Spiral generally lacks. AP Spitfire is a trap.
I guess this comes under Fireteam news: it appears Spiral Corps no longer have access to Diggers, instead gaining access to Beasthunters. We do also gain an EVO Hacker so that if you really want to run the Anaconda, Kiel-Saan, or (being realistic) Neema, you can give them Fairy Dust. Not sure it's worth the price of entry, but it's definitely nice to have the option. Anyone spot any other changes? The Digger-Beasthunter change doesn't seem to be in the changelog, so maybe there's some other things hiding
My guess is that they didn't want people adding Symbiomates to Diggers and didn't want to rewrite the rules.
But Tohaa still retain Diggers/symbiomates. If they wanted to get rid of that ability, why wouldn't they do it with Tohaa as well?
surely a tagline on army saying *this uniot cannot have symbiomates/bombs* assigned to it would have worked?
Calm down everyone we got the new Traktor Mul profile. They probably just didn't want Spiral to be too overpowered. ... (this is sarcasm in case it is not clear)
When you could take a digger, you could potentially have used them as a cheap aggressive triad for pushing buttons. Using the irreg order to push the button after a couple of orders for the haris to tow it up
well problem is it looks useless among brawlers and a msv2 sniper. If this was a moving link with spitfire or hmg, sure an engineer could help. but most of the time you dont even move the brawlers at all.
There are some ITS missions that specifically give engineer bonuses like double rolls and +3 wip though, that's not much, but it's something
Yeah they realise. Its existence adds to their point, not detracts: ie why the mostrucker option for brawlercore?
Main reasons I can see to do it: 1) Drop Bears with +1B 2) Cheaper, and with more interesting weapons than a Brawler Engineer 3) Keep one near your Fireteam, once your sniper/HRL are gone reform the Fireteam and push forwards with to grab objectives turn 2/3 I cant say they're all great reasons but they're options
