While we've known about it for ages, CB announced today their mysterious project with Ramper Design, the awesome guys from Takkure. No more info for the moment. It remains to be seen if their child above will be called Aristeia 2, Rem driver, Dog Bowl, etc....
The individual Kanren blisters are on last chance so looks like that's a repack. I'm interested in seeing the objectives pack after seeing that the new ITS Pack includes Supplies objectives with removable boxes.
Gator is very cool. Chernobog is amazeballs. Shame about the Liberty cargo pilot not being female like on the concept, it was a cool character design. Compared to the old Kornak, the new one is a complete miss. Looks like a rando Morat with an odd sword and bad teeth. AND WHERE'S THE HAIR?!
Eh, when I enlarged the pic, I still think it's either a tomboyish woman or a pretty, quite femme, young boy. The render comes across (cheekbones, nose, etc) like a masculine guy about 40.
Bear in mind the face will be smaller in the final model due to material shrinkage, a lot of faces look exaggerated in renders but come out looking normal. The hairstyle is also very common among younger afro-carribbean men so reads as male to me.
If I'm remembering correctly that Liberty Cargo is a PanO company, the young man looks like most any rapaz might in any of the cities of Brasil today.
Yeah, they're essentially a front for the Hexahedron. Props to the sculptor for using a black hairstyle that isn't braids/dreadlocks too. The art looks a lot like one of the guys in our accounts department.
One of the things that originally drew me to Infinity was the model hair variety. I am glad they are continuing to expand.
Gator looks still good. Main critic here are the widespread tiny arms that are impossible to fit for a pilot. And the funny - face on the belly - please stop that. Chernobot - I am not a fan, but clearly recognicable Ariadna. So, not bad. Karnok - no improvement here to the old one. I still like the old one more, he has an aura of souverainity while keeping a fighting stance and the new one is only HE (Man) Ape. The sword is silly, what is this? A lightning rod? Aleph Support is very good. Male look strange, female very scifi-sexy-doc and the yudbots just cute. Gangbusta Hacker looks like expected. Nothing special here, but this count as good ;-) The Dire Fores are ... hmm. I think they are okay. Both charakters are very meh in their factions/sectorials, both main feature is "to expensive for what they bring to the table". Uma even more. I think her smg version is better, but this is what we get for not backing Defiance ;-) Qiang looks better then its Defiance alter ego. I am not a fan of the HVT also. Looks a bit like a fashion geek, but its supposed to be an uniform. The artwork shows a male for sure. The design of the whole trouser hip section looks like spandex with stockings, something you would more expect for a female. In the render the head seems to be too big.
Reminder of Last Chance to Buy. October 1st Aleph Support Pack (Sophotect & Netrods) replaced by the new C1 one (Dactyls) November 1st Kǎnrèn Counter-insurgency Group (Hacker) (repacked) Kǎnrèn Counterinsurgency Group (Boarding Shotgun, Chain-Colt) (repacked) Haqqislam Remotes (repack for C1) Haqqislam Support Pack (repack for C1) Rebots (repack for C1)
I like the design of the miniature (although it's bigger than expected, should be S8), but the paintjob certainly is... weird.
Uh, you guys -have- seen The Expanse, right? Pretty clearly a Filip Inaros tribute IMO. And looks pretty good to me: like the sleek clothing design (legs are part of a pressure garment for a G-suit I assume), and that's really, really good facial expression. The eyebrows in particular. Face is way better on the actual mini than the sketch, even. As for the rest of the releases: That Gator is way better than I thought it would be. One-handing heavy weapons, even for TAGs, drives me nuts nomrally... but with the support arm, it's way better. I actually like this fist-making pose. Kornak's the only miss sadly. His old mini was indeed way better. The weapon is really cool though. And as for the news about Ramper partnership... awesome! Takkure's designs were awesome, can't wait to see what they bring to the core line. Or could the REM-racing game have found a production team maybe? Hmmm...
The only thing I want to add is that the new Aleph C1 Support Pack technically doesn't replace the Sophotect. There was a dedicated SP Dactyl Support Pack that got discontinued last year already, which is what this new pack is officially replacing. So I find it interesting the Sophotect finally gets discontinued as well. Points to a possible resculpt soon-ish. Maybe it's even the slightest of hints towards an IS remake next year?
