    That was my first thought for who to link as well. You get a ton of tools between those two units.
    Massacre is useful too if you're in a meta where you want to avoid MSV. I'm also interested in Digger for a 3 burst chain rifle with two wounds and some CC for cheap.

    Unless something got updated Jaguars and Lobos only make mixed FTs, so +1BS only, sadly.

    I could be wrong, as I am finding the new fireteam rules less clear than the old ones (I feel like I am the only person), but I do not think you get +3BS from a Lobo/Jaguar mixed Fireteam. Lobos and Diablos, or Jaguars and Senor Massacre, but not Lobos and Jaguars.

    Damn, you’re right. My headcanon for my Jaguars messed me up: mine have orange prison jumpsuits, so I assumed “Correctional” applied to them too… now I see they don’t have that label. Bummer!

    Still, even without the extra 2 BS it seems like adding a Red Fury to a Jag fireteam is a nice choice to have.

    It's been a while since I've read fluff, but I've always thought of them as the Mexican General's Alguacil. Lobo are probably the new unit I want to know about the most, I think they'll have a lot of insight on how the organization works.
    Frankly Jaguar are just better cheerleaders than Alguacil, so I'm glad Alguacil have better fireteam options with Lupe, Dak, and Lobo.
    Jaguars are ideal for making a cheap Haris escort, but they can't give +3 BS to a gunner anymore. I think anything that pulls the game away from having every team playing with 4 cheap troops and a nasty missile launcher with fireteam bonuses is great.

    Agreed, the one mod I am bummed the most is about Brigada losing the ability to pad the team with cheaper pals, or reinforcing a lesser team, but that is the new way of fireteams.

    Lobo Redfury in an Alg Team is a sidegrade for the EVAder Spit, in my view. I used it in my only game so far with the new units, and like the high burst, +1DMG weapon, it only looses AP but the Lobo is a good piece.

    I think Alguaciles gained the better options in a full core with Lobos, Dak and Lupe, while Jaguars went back to being an amazing offensive Haris with Massacre.

    To summarize, Lobos are the correctional responde group in charge of subduing inmates riots in Praesidio (when Alguaciles can't handle it).
    Their name was given by the inmates as they hunt in pack and are relentless.
    In order to stay at peek condition, detachments are deployed with other units of the CJC and they serve as controllers of the penitentiary forces in the field (reason why they have the same keyword as Diablos who are penitentiary forces).

    I think that was a bad solution to Brigada, but now they need a new one. They're back to being pretty limited. I'm not sure what current ITS looks like but there have been some missions in the past I would use a Haris of Wildcat Spitfire, Brigada BSG Tinbot, and Jazz on.
    I see, that's alright. The idea of "like the other forces, but man, these guys are really crazy. Give them religious." is a bit tired for me, but they might grow on me when I get around to reading the new book. I've always thought of the Corregidor penitentiary forces as a sort of rehabilitation system, as opposed to something like Morlocks that are out of control or the Imp Service ones that are basically slaves. That's why Jaguars are linkable without a controller and can act as unlinked regular troops. They have their background but they are real soldiers.
    I really love the Lobos getting all their non-lethal kit, Corregidor getting that was at the top of my wish list.

    They all are followers of Santa Muerte.

    Yes, we can call that a "rehabilitation system", but at its core it's a necessity.
    All inhabitants of the ship must pay the oxygen they breathe, even the inmates. So, unless somebody is paying for you (and that's the case for high end inmates kept in Praesidium for a price for other organisations), you have to work. And if you don't work, you are invited to take a walk outside the ship.
    That's the reason why Jaguars are working in CJC and as "community police", why Rocaworks (and other companies) use inmates as workforce, why the Diablos (the most dangerous inmates with useful habilities) are used in the CJC.

    From there background, it seems Jagars are not inmates, they directly go from promising gang members to Jaguars when they are caught (or void walkers if they don't want to integrate the unit). There is no jail option.

    There is a whole section of background dedicated to the correctional system of Corregidor in the book.

    I don't quite know where the new correctional team sits in the sectorial.

    You already have McMurough rampaging forward causing trouble, then Hellcats and Kowalsky for drops. We have midfield skirmishers in Morans, Bandits and Sombras.

    I know our sweet core has been hit as an ARO link, so do they replace the ML Brigada and become a body guard for Jazz so she can gain 6Sense.

    It's interesting, and I welcome them onboard. I also CANNOT bloody wait for the miniatures. I expect something like what we've seen in TAG raid.

    I am assuming he's an auto-include only if you plan to bring in his Jaguar padding gang? Or is he worth also always taking if you are planning to bring him all on his own?

    Depends on your meta. If you face a lot of MSV, that visor-proof smoke is pretty valuable. MSV is so universal these days that the odds of needing to block it with something other than basic smoke are prrtty high. If you’re not bringing Jazz so no White Noise, it’s especially needed.

    His Breaker rifle is also pretty handy as a toolkit item.

    Thanks! I am building a list around Jazz primarily so maybe not so important for me to bring him along, then. I have a good few repeaters and options to put deployable ones in the field.

    I am going to repeat these questions in both sectorials I play.

    We have had the new Fireteam rules for a little while now, where we can have 'pure' or 'impure' Fireteams. When, if ever, do you feel it is worth going for Fireteam purity over the flexibility of mixing different units together? I just do not see this as an option in Corregidor. We are offered such incredible Fireteam flexibility that giving up those advantages for some minor bonuses seems like a terrible trade-off. I could be very, very wrong, however, so I want to know what others think.

    Personally, I have never enjoyed using five-man Cores. I have heard of people using a three-man Core alongside a Haris (basically, Tohaa-lite) and this intrigues me. I have not yet tried it, though. Do you feel like this would work well as an option in Corregidor, or would a Defensive Core with Sixth Sense Jazz still be better most of the time?

    I agree. CJC have very flexible fireteams and I like to use it that way. In some missions I want a order battery with ARO and attack abilitys in a certain degree and thats the Alguas with MSR or ML and maybe a HMG. The downside is, that they are SWC heavy for 1 W LI. In that case a haris will do the main work.

    If I go with a flexible 5 man link it usualy has two attack pieces HMG and Spitfire range or Spit and MK12.

    And Jazz? I prefer her with her buddy rem.

    @lobos: I am uncertain, what purpose they are for. Veteran, Religíious, Biovisor. Medium tier fighters. All have CC20 paired with +3 and -6 if you use the Para. Para seems to be their thing. ADHL, riotstoppers, FPs all thing to paralyse or stun opponents. When building armys most of time they just do not fit in and I don´t see a need to put them into a list other from nice to have or want to try out and then ... no minis :-(

    ARO vs Imps? Special weapons in Algua teams? Guys that can keep the list running in LoL? Only if you play a core of them. I think they could simply not exist and I will not even miss them. CJC has so many options already and mini-wise: Where are the Morans? Where? Tell me CB!

    If you occasionally want to run a very cheapo core link of either Alguaciles or Jaguars-plus-Massacre, those bonuses could really help them stand on their own.

    You would mainly run those links as a defensive order-base-protector or as bait when you are running an otherwise all skirmishers, AD, etc. skew list, or if you have decide to go FU crazy with TAGs.

    But it’s not a -huge- points savings vs. the boilerplate Corregidor defensive link with Jazz. The gains are pretty marginal in pints and the loss in functionality large. Which leads to your next question:

    Jazz and Co in a full core are so good that the main reason to not run them all the time is to keep your regular opponents guessing, or anyone who knows they will be facing Corregidor in a tourney etc.

    Also if you reeeeeally need like 20 points for more TAGs or something whacky.

    There’s also the fact that Jazz plus -6 Tinbot is probably overoptimized and is frankly a complete crutch for most of us. I try not to use that build against players of equal or lesser skill than myself for that reason. However against more-skilled players, I will run the Jazz Tinbot and Co core as my handicap :)

    Aesthetically I feel the same. But for pure power, Sixth Sense and Tinbot protection are pretty hard to beat.

    They look amazing for Decapitation (haven’t played them in that mission yet.

    Maybe they’re meant for certain special missions or campaigns that we haven’t seen yet?

    If they could join Jaguar teams and have the full link bonus, I think you’d see a lot more of them. Jag teams with a decent Spitfire-range weapon would be awesome, but not overpowered IMO.[/QUOTE][/QUOTE]

    Same here. But Jags and Massacre don´t need the power of pure 5 or even 4 you are good with haris, because normaly they have a purpose to fullfill and will only stop to put some smoke down. Okay at least I play them like this ;.)

    No doubt. There are good boni for her in a core. But: Tinbot -6 cost a minium a 37 pts extra, 6th sense is for ARO vs stealth, which is rare and to counter surprise attack which is also not very common. If you took the 39/0,5 Tinbot you have a Hacker already (not as good as Jazz but well protected in many aspects). In a mixed core you can go for the -3 Tinbot which usualy comes with engineer skill and AP spit. Which makes sense for me.

    I have some good results running her with Billy in 2nd group. 3-4 orders to do some active stuff and then wait for ARO you lay out before. I like to use Hellcat w/repeater a lot ;.)

    See ... on paper as there are no minis yet. Jaguar with spitfire is already possible and very nice option with Wildcat wildcard with NCO. Smoke and MSV1 is also a thing.

    If you're using them as a Core, a fun trick is to run the full Jag Squad with 2x Panzerfausts as your ARO units. With BS 14 and an explosive ARO they’re lot more of a deterrent. Backing them up on a long firelane with a second ARO unit (like a camo hacker near anywhere an opponent might be peaking of from) makes them a pretty good roadblock. Even on their own, they will give pause with the panzerfausts and then ADHL.

    The panzerfaust guys often die, but that just leaves the rest of the vatos even more ready to roll forwards and kill stuff.

    True. The Lobo and the Wildcat NCO profiles really are similar. I guess you could tailor to your opponent and the rest of your list. Facing Shas or HB and might need to hunt down Impersonators (or have a whacky opponent who loves holo toys)? Lobo. Facing Ariadna or other smoke-lovers and want to cut through it (or need to save 2 points)? Wildcat.

    Yes that can work. Problem here is, your PF is empty after one shoutout, even if you survive you´re now outranged (assuming a HGM/Spitfire attacker in good range). But yes its an option. Low cost, SWC free.

    In my game on saturday I run a jag haris with the PF guy. Opponent manged to disable the haris and got in to positon for the kill-shot. 5 dices on 15 vs one 11 for the ADHL ... which crited ;.)

    True. This seems to be the niche for the Lobos. If you can plan ahead vs a certain enemy you have the choice to set the pre-conditions. For me - even I face Haqq from time to time I do not see much playtime for them. If the mins look good, I will grab a box or blister because I am a collector like many of us here ;-)

    @archon the great thing about Jaguars is that smoke or dodging is almost always on good odds. ;) The idea is to steal a few orders from the opponent at least. I find the PF does that decently.

    When your PF is empty after that first round, you can try to use smoke to preserve your orders and just let the opposing unit move on to do whatever, and your next later of roadblocks slow them down. Or you can Dodge and get closer to template range.

    (Also, why did you only get a single ADHL shot? Wasn’t your Jaguar linked?)
