    A thread just for her.

I've not been able to play yet but she looks great on paper.

We don't know if "counts as Shang Ji" just means she has it next to her name ie Bixie (Shang Ji) for the purpose of mixed/unmixed fire teams. We don't know if she's she's under the White Banner/Invincible heading of fire teams or a wildcard. For my WB I'm going to assume she's NOT a Wildcard. It would be great to mix her with Shaolin though!

In WB I think she will see a lot of use. She's also from Huang Di. She will work very well with Ye Mao since she also has super jump. She also can work well with Jing Qo. I actually think Bixie is better than JQ though.

To me she beats out Tai Sheng for versatility by being both a good shot as well as good in CC. But the big thing is being able to get just about anywhere on the table. She can do a lot of different missions. HI, Veteran (Character), FO, MSV. I'm sure I'm missing something.

I'm thinking of running with this group this week. I was thinking of running two Ye Mao but I like the Jujak Breaker tinbot. Breaker is great for Bears and such and then Tinbot is always good.

Bixie MULTI Rifle, Zapper, Flash Pulse / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon. (0 | 41)
    YĚ MĀO (Hacker, Hacking Device) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt ( ) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 31)
JUJAK Breaker Combi Rifle, Heavy Flamethrower ( | TinBot: Firewall [-6]) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 30)
LIANG KAI Chain Rifle, Light Shotgun, Flash Pulse / Pistol, EXP CC Weapon. (0 | 21)
SHAOLIN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 5)
SHAOLIN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 5)
    0.5 SWC | 133 Points

I won't be running her until she's added to Army, but I can't wait to have access to her. She looks like she'll be a fantastic addition to every faction that gets her, and I'm especially excited to see I she gets to duo in vanilla (I doubt she will, but that would be incredible).

In addition to being outright a powerful addition, her kit will open up a lot of fun strategies.

I'm hoping they surprise us with some other weapon/equipment options too. I like her as she is but it would be cool if there's something like Spitfire or Breaker, etc.

Brother Crane is already on suicide watch as it is. Leave some toys for the rest of the children.

I think the Hulang FTO is more on notice than the Crane by virtue of being in the same sectorial and having no fireteam tag.

Hulang needs 6-2 asap. Koala on at least 1 of the FTO profiles would help. And something I've been asking for years now: eclipse please.

The thing is Hulang as a troop is usable, fd8" with koala is something I tried in vanilla and it worked well almost always. Can't say the same about Crane.

I mean, if you make a unit with one or two faction-unique features and intentionally don't design them to be highly cost effective, you are doing a good job to convey the message that the faction has the capability for these units, but they are rare, expensive, and not the primary focus of the faction. But enough about the Crane.

I think the most important thing Hulang FTO needs is to be considered (Invincible). I started getting them to work in this way before Raveneye. Having 4-4 MOV is awkward in a fireteam with a bunch of 6-2ers but perfectly manageable, it's primarily when they're meant to get into melee that it starts being a bit weird that the shooting HI are 6-2 and the melee HI are 4-4.
An alternative to that is to reshuffle the fireteams a bit so that Mowang and Hulang can get coherent fireteam Haris. Maybe there's room for them in the Yan Huo category even if it would be pretty funny to let Guijia into a stupidly expensive Haris. Fireteam solutions are where I'd prefer to look for alternatives before suddenly dropping tech Yu Jing hasn't historically had before into the mix.
Of course, a third alternative is to make Hulang complement instead of compete with Bixie with smoke grenades. Effective, already established faction tech, but sooo mundane. PanO's used to everyone else but them getting smoke, though, so it wouldn't even be a fun middle finger towards them.

In defense of the Hulang, it's one of those profiles that excels at 400 points instead of struggling at 300.

I don't think so. If they can have multiple CC HI in MO then then we can too. Besides she's an AVA1 Character and not even in ISS.

The more I think about how to link Bixir, the more it's clear to me she's a good solo agent.

    - NCO is what makes her viable in links. In IA she may be a functional substitute for Tai Sheng, gaining substantial avoidance (Dodge) and calculation (MSV2) by losing a great weapon, BS and maybe a TinBot.
    - NCO was much needed in WBA, in that particular build with Zhanshi Lieutenant. Any non-Climbing Plus or non- Super Jump link member, however, hinders Bixie maneuverability. There's a spot for Ye Mao Haris, maybe?

It reminds me of Shikami (with dodge instead of Mimetism) and, in my opinion, she's fit to work alike: an ultra-maneuverable and fast menace for objective, classifieds, and trouble-shooting.

I think she will be a new niche-NCO for IA.
She will be a good asset trying to get rid of the VMS2-Haidao by offering a possibility to link VMS2 without breaking pure fireteam rules (Rui Shi can't do it !)

In what is she different from other NCOs ?
    - Tai sheng : chain of command / firewall -6 / close and mid range (mk12 and combi)
    - Krit : lowest price / engineer / close and mid range (feuerbach)
    - Bixie : VMS2 / mobility / stealth / cc and close range (multi rifle)

-> it looks like she performs better in duos with Mowang/Hulang in order to reach midfield by carrying the other with her NCO (maybe take a Mowang without NCO then, who knows ?). Then you break the link and let her do CC specialist stuff.

Otherwise, she doesn't have the same spot as the hulang : the later has forward deployment and use a "real" CC weapon for big threats, big SMG and is protected with big mimetism for firefights. The hulang is overall well suited for generic short firefights while she is more resilient and here for camo hunt. Quite the same, but different.

+1 to @LucaGirolami , I think this unit will perform better as loner than wildcard

What makes Bixie's CCW not 'real?'

DAM 14 AP+DA against BTS that inflicts damage and isolates.

She has pistol + E/M CC Weapon, where do you find the AP/DA weapon ? I think I missed something

Edit 1 : just looked again E/M CC weapon, indeed, it has N+E/M ammo against BTS - I still don't see AP but hell yeah, that's already better than what I noticed.

Edit 2 : thanks @Mahtamori for further explanation. Indeed, it's a really harmful weapon !

Mahtamori pointed this out in the other HI thread, but EM CCWs no longer function like they did in N3. Look at the weapon profile for them. You only roll two saves, each at half BTS, and each one inflicts a wound and isolates.

As for CCW, Bixie has the one of the best of the game: I rate E/M CCW very high. Sadly cannot be used to destroy servers and AC2 like a AP+DA would.

AP is a short-hand, not actual real Armour Piercing Ammunition - so even better than having shoddy AP that people can be immune to ;)

    https://infinitythewiki.com/Electromagnetic_(E/M)_Ammunition

After a successful attack using E/M Ammunition, the target must make two Saving Rolls per impact suffered, using half his BTS value (2 x BTS/2).

EM CCW are absolutely beast right now. I prefer them over almost every other CCW option these days - and yes, not being able to destroy AC2s is pretty annoying, almost straight up immersion-breaking; just like Mono not being able to do it either.

Just adding to the thread to say I'm also very excited about Bixie. She looks powerful and well-costed, but more than anything, she looks FUN. I like that she's a high-risk and close-range unit that has the tools and statline to figure out dynamic plays, and to make them happen.

I play White Banner, so I've been wondering what kinds of teammates I might want to support her with. There are a good amount of compelling options, and of course we don't know for sure if she'll have the exact same fireteam rules as the existing Shang Ji, but yeah. Wanted to share and hear some thoughts.

    • Shang Jisus: A no-brainer, since his extremely optimized profile makes him a premium pointman to get the Haris out of the DZ into the midfield so Bixie can jump all over the place and get work done. Bixie appreciates basically everything he brings - long range AP firepower, tinbot, and tacaware.
    • Shang Ji HRL: Similar to Shang Jisus, but leaner and more streamlined. HRL in a Haris is probably good enough to gunfight out of the DZ, and shotguns are always fun while turning corners, especially with link bonuses.
    • Shaolin Monk: Cheap, non-hackable, consistent smoke for MSV2 shenanigans. Would be irregular without JQ/LK, but a small price to pay imo. Probably my main go-to link filler atm.
    • Jing Qo: Bixie is an upgrade over JQ in many ways, but nothing stops us from using them together. Climbing Plus makes her very good at digging out hackers and repeaters, especially under smoke. Bixie/JQ/Monk would be a pretty synergistic haris that brings consistent smoke, and two hyper-mobile and very deadly CC specialists; though it would be lacking a long gun to contest AROs with out of the DZ.
    • Liang Kai: Significantly cheaper than JQ, still makes monks regular, and Super Jump makes him almost as good at digging out repeaters/morans/etc. Not getting smokes or specialist isn't an issue if covered by Bixie and a Monk respectively. Berserk with an EXP CCW is also always fun.
    • Ye Mao Engineer: A superjumping unhackable secondary specialist. I like the idea of an unhackable engineer that could clear states and dig out repeaters, especially with mobility. Only bummer is that Ye Mao can't link with Monks and benefit from the smoke.
    • Tian Gou (BSG/Jammer): Could have some potential, even though they're pretty overpriced. I can easily see masking the Tian Gou as a hackable partner to Bixie, and placing it in a position to tempt an opponent to try and hack it - and of course, jamming the crap out of them. Nades and BSG are also rather handy in close range.
    • Sora Kwon (Shock MMR + Tinbot): This is more copium since I want any excuse to run the Korean girl - but if I'm strapped for SWC, I could do a lot worse than a BS14 DAM14 B4 Shock MMR when running out of DZ. EM mines and -6 tinbot are great in the midfield too.
    • Jujak Engineer/Tinbot: The budget option when I really want that tinbot for Bixie. It's a huge bummer that there's not Engi + tinbot option, it's one or the other. But yeah, probably better to go with Shang Jisus to cover long gun, tinbot, and tacaware - and use the third slot for smoke and/or engineer access.
Right now, my two favorite teams are Shang Jisus / Bixie / Monk, and Bixie / Liang Kai / Monk. Smokes are just too valuable for a CC midfielder, especially one with MSV2.

Of course, nothing stops me from running a different haris and using 1-3 monks solo (as I often do) to saturate the midfield and throw smoke where I need it, but yeah. Getting burst 2 is great, and solo monks can't always safely march into the midfield. Would welcome any thoughts/input!

Unfortunately we don't know if she will be a wild card. Only that she counts as Shang Ji for fire teams. So it's safe to assume she can be in a WB team and Invincible team in IA.

To me the Ye Mao have most synergy with all having super jump. But I also like Jujak too. Especially with Kwon and engineer. Or breaker tinbot to be cheaper.

I'm glad we are starting to get some good CC in Yu Jing. Even if it's only a few characters and they still don't stand up to some of the other faction monsters. It's always been a bit of a point of irritation for me me that Yu Jing, which is based on China and the the birth place of Asian martial arts, had so few troops good in CC. Even back in the day when JSA was a part of them. Why was JSA singled out as having the martial artists? We had Shaolin and that was about it until they made the Crane Agent. I know it's not a CC game! But it's the Chinese martial arts practitioner in me. It's a point of pride I guess. Especially in the background, it's said they bring back many traditions of pre-communist China. I would think that would definitely include the martial arts! Then you also have the Korean and other countries that created Yu Jing, other than Vietnam I don't remember which.

But now slowly we are gaining some CC! The Hulang, Beasthunter, Jing Qo, Liang Kai, and now Bixie. It could of course get better. I'd like for Kanren and Hsien to be Level 2. I'd also like the Hulang to have a little more variety of CCW. But still. Not bad!

Sorry to highjack the thread, but can you explain please E/M CCW a bit more?

I see in this chart https://infinitythewiki.com/Weapon_Chart (and in Army) that "ammo is N+E/M; saving attribute is BTS"
And also I struggle to find a rule for combining different ammunition types. (it was removed in N4, right?)
To my understanding this weapon should translate into:
1 save against normal BTS -> -1 Wound if failed
    +
2 saves against BTS/2 -> Isolated (+ Immobilized) if failed
