This. Just like one of the new Morats, Rindak. About the news, there are so, so many. The most important thing is I'm supposed to get my Bundle next Friday :D PozdRawiam / Greetings
That is my hand in the photo :) I do believe their Black Friday event will be on Black Friday, which is the day after USA Thanksgiving.
Lol, that’s great! Glad you managed to grab one. Cheers for letting me know that CB’s Black Friday is likely to be the same date as the one used in the USA. I don’t want to miss it and you can’t tell these days, Dell computers had one in July…
You see, we have to ask here in the UK, because our Black Friday exists only when stores tell us it does... but the day it does, our prices have increased in previous weeks** and go back to normal around that 'week' of Black Friday. So really, what I'm getting at is, we can never tell ... >.< **not that they are supposed to, but it's obvious they do.
I live in a British Overseas Territory with expats from across North America so we have USA Thanksgiving, and Canadian Thanksgiving, and a very confused Brit (me)
Achilles was a CC beast in N3, now with N4 he is just okay. MA4 and CC 24 doesnt make you a monster in CC, ayax could sweep the floor with achilles in CC for half the points, for example, THAT is what you call a CC beast
Achilles' thing seems to be that he isn't the best at anything, but he is great at everything. That just isn't enough, sadly, considering the amount of options in Infinity for punching above a unit's weight and the reliance on minmaxing specialised troopers. The fact that the two things Achilles can't do are 1.) hide from common assymetrical tools with Markers, Tinbots, Holomask etc. and 2.) win the game in most scenarios because he hasn't been arbitrarily given Specialist Operative are the final nails in the coffin.
This is a holdover from early ITS. LT and TAG were specialists and Achilles V1 dominated (at least in perception), so that rule was dropped. Two editions later, the meta has changed significantly. Achilles has more effective counter plays, mixed fireteams and wildcards are a thing, but Achilles is still barred from operating operationally…
I was straight-up thinking about the Unknown Ranger when I wrote that post above. Top-end gunner, CC and durability in his home faction, but also Unhackable, a Specialist and a Wildcard. This is why I complain about Specialists in ITS; now the designation is effectively arbitrary with no limits on equipment or purpose (I think DeFersen was the only Specialist with an SWC gun when I started playing, and he wasn't great) it seems like a tool to sell new profiles rather than a thought-out gameplay mechanic.
Cmon, your CC god achilles can be handled by the new random dude from aleph Thyreos, 23 pts, another CC beast i guess also, ajax is not a benchmark for cc, ajax is a mosnter. and thats my point, ajax is the cc monster and not achilles
[Broma cordial on] @El tito Zylito, deja de perder el tiempo escribiendo en el foro y publicad ya el siguiente número del podcast... que os debéis a vuestros oyentes. [Broma cordial off]
So... your complaint about Achilles is that he has a 19% chance to be killed by monofilament? That's literally what monofilament does. Ajax has the exact same odds against Thyreos as Achilles does. Their odds of killing Thyreos are 65%. The aforementioned Digger, in its active turn with B2, still has a 17% chance to die to the monofilament, and only a 56% chance to kill Thyreos. If your requirement for a CC beast is to not be at any risk when fighting monofilament, then Immunity(Total) is an absolute requirement. So, bears. But they're at risk from viral CCWs. You won't find any unit in the game that can CC every possible adversary at zero risk to itself. Sorry you're disappointed that Achilles is merely one of the best CC units in the game, and not literally invulnerable.
Because that's not the same thing? Negative MODs are nothing new to the game either there's no reason for this to be confusing
So she's not exceptionally good at dodging, per se, but she's good at making people miss. So, she doesn't have a better chance to dodge when unopposed, but she is more likely to win the F2F when being shot at.
I have no complaints, i just said that having a more or less 50% chance to win a ftf roll against a 23points random guy doesnt make you a CC beast. But its okay, maybe a monofilament weapon is not the best example, you seem to like maths, so tell me, what are the chances of achilles to win a ftf roll against a 13 pts bluecoat?
65%-19% is "a more or less 50% chance"? Wow. It's a good thing one of us likes math. The Bluecoat is another great example. Achilles is 39% to kill the Bluecoat. The Bluecoat is 15% to immobilize Achilles. So yeah, Achilles still dominates against a unit that's carefully crafted to be resistant to CC attackers. Ajax, your preferred CC beast, has nearly identical numbers against the Bluecoat. 39% to kill, 12% to get immobilized. His extra point of Phys makes him 3% less likely to get immobilized, otherwise he performs identically to Achilles who you're convinced isn't a CC beast.
