Daylami are Rifle+LSG, then two LSG daylami. Haqq SMGs are pretty distinct, you can see them on Rouhani and the Nadhir. What's more puzzling is what's on her hip. I saw one theory that it's the new Haqq Panzerfaust, with the tube collapse to become portable. Either that or a grenade launcher. I'm betting Daylami are getting the Rokot treatment and becoming regular, or in N4 they will have a special fireteam to make them regular
I am totaly in for the Aleph side. All models look great, no exception. I hope the big gun on the Hoplite is an HMG. Alephs BSG looks very Big, but this one is too sleak. I also wonder what is the weapon on the back of the Thorakitai that aims with his SMG (and it look like there a many SMGs in the box). A Chain Rifle look different as it can be seen on the Ekdro. Speaking of the Ekdro: Finaly the Hacker variant it´s about time. Okay Agema resculpt is a bit boring (mainly because I have alredy a painted one and realy, who plays two of them?) but that seems to be a tribute to Code One. I wished for the MK12 - maybe in the Beyond box. The Haqqislam part is not my turf, but as far as I can see the minis look very nice - only the bulky combat jumper seem a bit out of place for Haq. I like the Daylami and I think they get a rules overhaul ... maybe they become regular now. The Barid is very nice but that profile should be prohibided - its too cheap. In the Dire Foes box I miss the little empress badly. But anyway Trisha looks good in her regular incarnation and the HVT is very cool - maybe a nomadish loot trader. I don´t know what Pandora will be. She looks more like a HVT. Normaly the free mini is available to more than only the factions in promotion. Could she be a REM-Racer? Helena ques in after the Dragon Lady for the best looking female HVTs. Great Box
Considering the background of the Battle Box (Steel Phallus guarding a secret xenotech research lab) it would absolutely make sense for Pandora to be a double agent leaking details to the Hassassins, letting the evils within loose on the world. What will be interesting to know is what form the hope she keeps trapped in the box/lab takes.
Ah - okay. So maybe similar to the O-12 Officer, she will be playable (working) for Aleph and Haq only.
Either that or Daylami are about to get an overhaul like Crosiers. Can't say I'd be sad to see Haqq lose them :P
Im always surprised how cool basic troops looks in CB sets for me. And two girls and Dire Foes are nice to. Plus great painting on them.
I guess it'll be something to that effect. I mean, not much space for a 5-7pt irregular guy with a light shotgun (and not much else) in my lists these days. Not in the N4 era of Limited Insertion / Tactical Window games. If I were to go with full 2 groups (and sometimes the nsome) like in N3, or late N2, it would be a different talk.
Having had a few more looks at the haqqi stuff, I’m really liking the Daylami in particular. Especially the one with a sword. There’s prime beast hunter conversion material there so I’ll likely be looking to shae konnit for a spare… The Aleph stuff is damn nice. Love the Corinthian style helmets and the almost a jotum shield on the hoplite. Guessing like others have that he’ll have high armour. This is certainly a possibility and I’ll be interested to see what happens. If they do get an overhaul like crosiers, one of the other profiles in the box (or upcoming) may act as an overall commander for them. I’m only mildly salty about no new Ajax but thems the breaks. Still really like the box contents overall. One thing I do have to wonder though: just what has Pandora got in that box?
Well, we had the Hoplite Armor version of Achilles for years, so I guess this is a stripped down, generic version of it. With more like generic Myrmidon in it ;) Wait, you say you've already seen what is in the Beyond boxes and the TAG Box for Aleph...? :P Don't even think about peeking into it, or I'll effin' kill you. Over the last 2,5 years there's been more than enough calamity over the world! ;)
Ajax could be either in the Beyond box (there’s usually a S5 model in either the beyond or the operation box) or maybe the Aleph TAG option like the Blackjack (I think?) was for Ariadna?
I guess the weapon on the Daylamis hip is the Light Grenade Launcher, as it apears to me he has a rifle, it would be inline with the Code one rules of not having disposable weapons like Panzerfausts etc, a bit sad about that but it would make sense. so one Daylami with rilfe+Lsg, one with Lsg only and the 3rd with Rilfe+LgL.
Yes… this is my hope at least. I’ve said it before but a mini version of the luxumbra Ajax sculpt and I’d be very happy. Exactly my thought when I saw the hoplite. Will be interesting if this is a new profile and there’s also a myrmidon version. Do love those thorakitai though, especially the one firing over their shield. Also, I’d wish I had seen into the future and saw in the Beyond boxes! Perhaps that’s what’s in Pandora’s box there… just one little peek?
In Vanilla I think that's true. I never take Daylami anymore. The top IGL lists from the most recent tournament just came out, and of 8 vanilla Haqq lists, only 2 had a Daylami - and one of the players has already said he'd have taken a Liberto instead if he'd noticed he had enough free SWC :-) In HB it's a different story, there are a lot fewer cheap irregular options and I suspect HB players are still relying a lot more on Daylami than vanilla players. In other words, a Daylami rework will probably improve vanilla a lot more than it improves the sectorial it's supposed to improve. As is the way of things.
I meant my Bahram lists. Ghazi with their Smoke and DTWs - yeah, I could fit one, maybe two into a list. Daylami, I don't see a point. Despite all my sympathy for them.
