You'd think it shouldn't be a problem in 2020 when you can casually poke anyone on this planet at any moment to ask them if they can help with that, but apparently only small indie companies know this magic vOv

The characters for "Zuyong Invincible", "Zhanshi Yisheng", and "soul" are all written in the wrong order. Then there's gibberish like "Colour's Thing" or "Green World Snow". I mean, they don't even make sense in English. It just seems they plugged random words into Google translate and called it good. That's just plain laziness.

Thanks @Law Dawg. Well, I guess for non-sense words they just pick some good looking (to their eyes) signs.

But that's better than what I feared. I thought some of the meaning were offensive or insulting; I know nothing about Asian languages and writing, but I believe that combinations of characters might get multiple interpretations depending on context, and that for profane like me, the way to read/write something is always the wrong one.

If they just used single characters that they thought looked cool, that's fine. It's when they want to string characters together that they should be careful. Chinese is a monosyllabic language, so each character is a single syllable with meanings. When characters are combined new words are formed.

Nah, they’re not random words, they just jumbled the characters in the wrong order. The shop is called Green Stuff World: 绿色的东西世界 (or 绿色东西的世界) is actually a decent translation. No idea what “snow” is doing in there either, but I think they got decent translations, then someone in the art department just treated the characters as drawings - as many westerners are wont to do - and rearranged them to look more “pleasing”. Not the first time I see something like this.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense. I didn't realize it's the shop name because the characters are in different rows and out of order.

Don’t worry, that’s usually the case: the insane logic used by foreigners when writing gibberish in another language is usually completely opaque to the native speakers. :yum:

Technically, the Daofei is a member of the Invincible Army. And I will continue to very loudly carry that torch until CB addresses the issue, in one fashion or another.

With that in mind, I painted my original Beyond Red Veil Daofei in the dossier scheme, but opted to go for a more White Banner specific scheme for my Kaldstrom Daofei.

As far as I'm concerned, it still counts.

I hope, this thread is correct.
As a very beginner i tried to find a good concept.
At least i found on. The base are the Military Order Hospitalers Knights and Joan of Arc

Wait...what did he just say - Hospitalers?
But man those are....these are bloody Knigths Templars!
Yes, they are :) I ´ve read the Story of de Fersen and that´s what inspired me, to bring the Templars back in Game.
Maybe they are from a long forgotten outpost of Swalaheima? Who knows?

"Non Nobis" is the beginning of the Templars Anthem "Non Nobis Domine, Sed Nomine Tuo da Gloriam" Not us but your name give honor.

Having a flick through this thread, I'm curious as to what programs people use for colouring the dossier images please? Trying to think of what minimal colour splash I could use with a baseline of black and grays similar to images on the first page.

It is not the correct thread since this one is for Invincible Army/Yu Jing color scheme ideas. However your colors are done nicely & look good on the knights.

I really like this dark red. Any chance you could let me know the paint colours you used? Thanks.

Go Green! I like them both. Is it split by ISS and IA?

I like the brighter green, it pops and reminds me of Shinobu. Personally I prefer muted / matte colours, but if you can paint the bright popping green that well, do that as it looks great! Not sure on the weapon colour but hey, that's far easier to decide later on :)

Well, I was looking for something completely different, but whilst I’m in this thread…
