    Hello hivemind,

I'm having a bit of a job building a list for Biotechvore using Shasvastii.

As I see it, based on what little I know of thui mission, I generally need to consider the following:
    Fireteams for order efficiency
    Fast movers
    Impetuous troops
1 or 2 ARO pieces to slow the enemy down turn 1.

This leaves me a little limited in my view to a Sphinx + Nox link plus other fillers.

Given the confused deployment rule, I see forward deployment troops as a bit of a waste of time and Infiltrators as a massive risk in points and orders. This I see as a major limiting factor for Shas as their best troops are mid-field infiltrators

What's the general concensus regarding the risk/reward element of taking a bunch of infiltrators, in the hopes of a 30% - 45% chance of successfully deploying...? Over more visible linked troops.

Another alternative would be to take some Cadmus and back them up with a E-Drone to mitigate the negative mod for confused deployment. Again there is some risk involved and I'm not sure it's worth it over taking linked troops.

Given the mission I expect most folk will field one (or more TAGs) so high DAM AP weapons, E/M weapons and Hackers are probably where it's at but I have no experience with this mission, so would appreciate any pointers!

Yea I've only played this mission twice, but I struggled as Shasvasti. Lack of impetuous (Bar Taighas) free orders being able to move out of the zone in one turn etc. I'm no Shasvastii-pro...

I would suggest spamming the heck out of infiltration, with a 45% hit rate (Mostly due to -3 PHS rule on biotechvore) the one's that stick are safe, and the one's that don't can hopefully use the orders of the successful one's to get in and camo up. Remember two things, failed roles to infiltrate mean you're placed in DEPLOYMENT not table edge. And this only applies to models deploying, not dropping in like Cadmus.
    • Try infiltration spam, might work? (Might not...)
    • Consider taking some Cadmus, quite a safe option.
    • Taigha Creatures will get out of Zone for free but only provide irregular orders
    • I'd suggest a mentor for counter intelligence if you go first.
    • Remember it's about killing, Speculo, Malignos, Shrouded & Tensho have regeneration, worth a punt!
    • Probably can't go wrong with the Sphinx tbh.
    • A Nox link isn't a total waste. Could go...T-Drone, Tensho, Nox+GL, Nox+Hack/HMG, THEN take Aida Swanson as #5, try and infiltrate Aida, if she fails put her in the link. Win-win...Ish
Let me know what you think.

Yes, it does... Combat Jump is a Deployment Skill.

Confused deployment is annoying but you dont have to worry about any forward deploy/infiltration/Jump guys that do make the roll. Focus 1st turn orders on moving anyone who failed or normal deployed on getting out of the zone. 2nd is it costs nothing to deploy in Fire teams, if you fail to forward deploy or even things you would normally not fire team, FT up for order efficiency on T1 and then break FT after they are out of the danger zone. Just because you deployed in a FT does not mean you have to fight that way. Also remember your opponent is going to be under just as much stress to get his stuff out of the Biovore and confused deployment is going to jack his stuff up just as much as it is yours. He's probably not going to have a very efficient or clean 1st turn either. This scenario and Panic Room both have a tendency to turn into hot messes no matter what due to forced inefficiency's and that fact that alot of standard strats just dont pay. No MSV Multisniper and HRL full link team DZ castles with LOS to the entire table in this one, at least not past the 1st turn when the biovore start chewing on it.

Mmm, fair enough. Seem's a bit janked on the wording of the mission.

This could be a good mission for the Jayth. Due to the BTS6. They also have Shock weapons.

Maybe even a Haris if Haiduk. Move them up and then put into suppressive fire with AP+shock marksman rifles. Sapper gives them cover and mim-3. So -9 at least to be hit. You could do the same with Shrouded but they have team efficiency. Even not in suppressive fire the can be hard to deal with.

But as mentioned, troops like Shrouded and Malignos are great even without infiltration.

I didn't spend a ton of time, but I'd consider running something like this:

    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10
    MED-TECH OBSIDON MEDCHANOID Combi Rifle, D-Charges ( | GizmoKit, MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 22)
    SLAVE DRONE PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 3)
    Q-DRONE Heavy Machine Gun / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (1 | 25)
SHESKIIN BOARDING (Lieutenant) Red Fury, Pulzar, D-Charges / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (1.5 | 63)
VICTOR MESSER (Hacker, Hacking Device Plus) MULTI Rifle, Cybermines, Nanopulser(+1B), D-Charges ( ) / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 33)
NOX (Paramedic) Combi Rifle, Zapper ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 16)
NOX Combi Rifle, Zapper / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 14)
NOX Combi Rifle, Zapper / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 14)
OKTAVIA Missile Launcher, Contender / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 28)
    M-DRONE FTO (Nanoscreen) Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 22)
    GWAILO (Multispectral Visor L2) Heavy Rocket Launcher ( ) / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 43)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]1 [IMG]2 [IMG]2
    TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 5)
    TAIGHA Chain-colt / AP + Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 5)
    R-DRONE Flash Pulse / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 7)

    6 SWC | 300 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Remember that half of the objective points in Biotechvore come from completing your classifieds. The big challenge here is, like with pretty much any faction, you're spending 6 of your orders here just moving to move all of group one out of the zone.

    - Dr. Worm mov+mov
    - Q-Drone mov+mov
    - Core mov+mov, mov+x
    - Haris mov+mov, mov+x

That doesn't leave much room to maneuver around terrain or to deal with pesky ARO's

A 40mm base moving 6-4 can't get out of the Biotechvore zone iirc. You need to be 6-6 or be 6-4 with a 25mm base.
