I disagree. There is a way to play MO without worrying about spending a bunch on Joan or thinking where to hide the obvious KC. Instead of making a Teuton Haris, why not make a Teuton (obviously mixed) Core? IMHO, the best Teuton quality is that they are dirt cheap and efficient link team fillers at 19-20 pts. Why not double down on that quality and simply get all 3 of them in the cheapest configuration, one being Lt? Then, you can use some of the more potent knights as a point man for the link - like Kyle, who's pretty nice at 0 SWC in an SWC-hungry sectorial, Santiago Spitfire, who's a swiss army knife of missions, or even De Fersen, who can be protected by the Teuton Tinbot now and hack his way through whatever passes near as well as shoot stuff with his spitfire? Then, the spots left can be filled with really useful Crosier Paramedics, Crosier Blitzens, HRL Black Friar for extra good ARO, heck, even OS Hacker can find his place in there. Now, you don't want this core to immediately push forward, rather allow it to be a huge annoyance as a resilient and efficient ARO tool for a while. Instead, since the core is cheap, you can have Tikbalang, a Bulleteer Spitfire, a Hospi Haris, or Trinitarians do the shooting job while your Lt is super safe in a very dangerous core that can easily roll over the opponent on turn 2 or 3. Tried this kind of playstyle recently, and was pretty happy with the results. Yes, advantage is that you can now have a good TAG (Tik) solving MO's "Get out of DZ" question, and have a HI link.
I'm wondering how to approach playing MO against the new Morats. They seem...strong. They make easy links with full bonuses, so they outshoot me. Their ARO (MSV1 HRL or Feuerbach) is scary, even Tik has problems cracking it, and mine kind of pales in comparison. In close distance they have lots of disposable creatures, so it's hard to approach them with e.g. Trinitarians, and they sometimes sniff them with sensor in their own active. I'm not complaining, but I just don't have any idea. What are Morats weaknesses that we can use? Going full core Hospitallers seems suboptimal.
New morats are strong and can bring some very scary pieces but I think that MO has a few answers to these like coordinated orders with tikabalang as leader and some tuetons with panzerfausts. Force the opponent to choose one to fight and eat the rest. That or try and force a fight inside 16 with a spitfire. Throwaway bulleteers on an attack run or tueton haris teams can do this job since they're fast. Peacemakers are also excellent at this job as well since they can deploy up and then come fight and force the opponent to make a hard choice. Dodge and get shot by the peacemaker or shoot and eat a flamethrower hit and hope to beat the peacemaker in face to face. I know its clunky but the Hospitaller core can deal with these threats as well at range. It's an invesment and I do rate the tikbalang higher due to having AP but not many things can withstand against a burst 5 HMG shooting on 17s. Hope this helps in games to come.

Played 3 or 4 times against new morats and, i never felt really comfortable against them. Inmune to lost of Lt, inmune to isolated... why bother to bring E/M or hackers? It's been a while since I've played MO and I haven't really played them since the newest fireteam update but I think if I had to mash together a list it'd look something like this.
I was a big fan of the crusade fireteam back in the day. Has anyone had experience with it lately? was curious how it has been performing.
Alright so hopping back on this faction after a brief hiatus playing NCA I think the big core is an absolute trap especially now that you can haris that team. Moving 5 HI models up the table and postitioning them correctly to not die in the current meta is an absolute feat. Although, I think joan+hmg+doc is a solid team or if you want ap Joan+doc+Hawkins.
How easier is it to collect a simple/effective/well-rounded MO list please? I was checking out the MO box, Trinitarians and Teutonics with Jeanne d'Arc and Mendoza models - but little else beyond these (unless they release new Hospitallers). I have plenty of models to proxy as remotes, helper bots and medic/engineer.
Having just restarted this faction I think the new MO starter pack, a box of trinitarians and a box of teutons is a great starting point. From there it's just picking up pieces that you like to run/want to run. Hope this helps.
Many thanks for your feedback! I was looking at the new Curator box and Mendoza (as well as De Fersen) and wondered what peoples thoughts on making use of these models was please? I'm quite fond the Mendoza model to be fair, less so for the new Hospitaller in the box.
The Mendoza minis are really nice, I’m even fond of his flaming avatar one from Aristeia! De Fersen is possibly one of my favourites from pano though. The pose is great and it almost screams Deus Vult! Curators box has multiple uses both as the minis they are and as proxies. Edit: getting Mendoza does allow you to yell Mennndozzzaaa!!! In a suitable rainier wolfcastle manner.
Alright with the new FAQ allowing the montesa knight to pick cover he seems like an amazing pick. Mim -3 and arm 7 in cover with an 8-6 move seems solid. Anyone have profiles they seem to enjoy? I'm partial to multi rifle since you get ap, shock and da but red fury gives you better band and burst.
