For Tartary, the Vet Kazak is listed as a Wildcard with a maximum given as 3. I'd like to check what does this "max" value mean?
    a) Only 3 can be included as wildcards per Fireteam? (E.g. 3 can be in my Core Fireteam and 1 more in the Haris).
    b) Only 3 can be included in total, across all Fireteams? (E.g. if I put 3 in my Core Fireteam, then they can't appear in any other Fireteams).
    c) Something else?

    Thanks.

    From the fireteam rules:

"Wildcards can be part of any Fireteam. The maximum
column shows the maximum number of Troopers of that
Unit that can be included per Fireteam"

I'd like to add one more item to this list of questions. In QK we have Hafzas as fireteam members and as wildcards. I saw it in a non-rules thread stating that you can have 4 in a core. The first 2 get the count as bonus, but the next 2 don't. Can I get a confirmation on this.

    Example:
1 Janissary & 2 hafzas get the +3 discovery bonus for being all Janissary.
1 Janissary & 4 hafzas are considered a mixed fireteam.

A Wildcard Hafza does not have the (Janissary) label so they will always make a Fireteam mixed.

My main question is can you have 4 hafza in the fireteam. It comes down to the meaning of MAX.

Sure, it'll be two Hafza (Janissary) and two Wildcard Hafza, you just can't exceed the AVA of the trooper in question.

"Wildcards can be part of any Fireteam. The maximum
column shows the maximum number of Troopers of that
Unit that can be included per Fireteam. In addition, some
Wildcards may also be listed in specific Fireteams. In all
cases, the total number of Troopers of that Unit included
in the Army List must respect the Availability of the Unit."

It's not totally clear, but it seems to me that you can add two Hafzas(Jannisary) and two Hafza wildcards for four total. If they were restricted to two total, then the line about not exceeding the AVA of the unit would be unnecessary.

I know he's not a rule authority, he's just a player like everyone else on this forum. So as colbrook said, yes you can have 4 hafza in a fireteam.

Correct, they didn't write the rule very well. The second sentence, "the maximum column shows the maximum number of Troopers of that Unit that can be included per Fireteam." doesn't differentiate between Wildcards and what can already be taken. You could argue that the last sentence supports not being able to take more than 2 in this case, as "that Unit" is used to refer to the unit profile as a whole in the last sentence. The 3rd sentence supports this by saying "some Wildcards may also be listed in specific Fireteam, though it is redundant as they can't be Wildcards if they are in a specific team listing. That should be rephrased.

The changes below would fix it.
"Wildcards can be part of any Fireteam. The Maximum column shows the maximum number of Wildcards of that Unit that can be included per Fireteam. In addition, some Units may also be listed in specific Fireteams. In all cases, the total number of that Unit included in the Army List must respect the Availability of the Unit."
