A question for Greek-speakers (or anyone versed in the Greek language). Can the word «Aoidos» (from Thamyris the Aoidos) be used with female names? If not, what is the feminine form of the word?
My Ancient Greek is terrible these days as is my Ancient Egyptian. I thought it was used to denote a female singer as in the Iliad where it starts “sing goddess…” I’m not too sure though so have turned to wiktionary. The word does have a feminine counterpart and so I believe it’s use is appropriate.
