It's true, but the Lizard is the only N1 era, true 40mm based TAG (no base extenders) still in production. The Anaconda was also on 40mm, but it's available as itself in this army, so it's a pretty bad proxy.

The old Squalo definitely should be on that list as well!

i didn't ad the pano specifically because the are remote tags and no remote (missed opportunity) option on the profiles.
im currently writing out a new thread to discuss this more

What's up with Fiddler's FTO profile? She doesn't appear on the Fireteam list. Does anyone know of this is an error?

It is a different loadout for those that want it, it does not have to be linked to any fireteam necessarily.

I thought FTO was literally the indicator for Fireteam profile??? Does the acronym serve some other purpose?

I haven't looked at Druze in awhile. Was Fiddler linkable at one point, but that changed and the FTO label is a holdover?

It's just a copy and paste profile that links in another sectorial.

Yeah, the FTO is linkable, but not in Druze

I just had a game in which I used a core-fireteam with comp. bonus that contained the Druze profile with the grenade-launcher and the EM-GL. Even though speculative attack can be an order sink, it worked rather well and was a handy tool to have. Being able to reach out to up to 32" on 9s while basically everything that you can touch with the template has to dodge on -3 is annoying.

I didnt play against a TAG in said match, but since they usually dodge on 11s, with the -3 malus on an 8s, this could potentially be a nice way of getting rid of any bigger TAG sitting in the middle of the table in sup.fire. Just hit it with a round of EM from out of LoS.

And even if the target is not a TAG or HI, just isolating enemy models is also a nice way of gutting the order pool of the enemy.

Uh, and bloat the model catalog even more...?
I'd say - they can make one generic model for a Triphammer, and call it a day. Which, I guess, will be how CB handle it, eventually. I.e. somewhere within a year or two from now.

It would be an interesting idea to make the 3d-sculpt of the old TAGs and release them for download (as 3-d-print-it-yourself), but that, I bet, won't happen. Because this brings no income for the CB, yet still costs them the time & effort to create these 3d resculpts. So it wouldn't be logical for CB to do (then again, my view on logic and CB's view on logic don't always agree).

Yes, of the original old sculpts of manned TAGs, only Lizard is still in production (and not for much longer, either). I know where to grab an old Guija at bargain bin price, but since it lacks the pilot arms, I'm not interested.

No reason they couldn't sell via some of those 3d print stores. I think even the partner "antenocities" sells stls for self printing. That could work as well

Oh, they could just as well start their own .stl store. Skip the middlemen. Sell printable conversion parts, like weapons, alternate heads, bits & pieces etc.

It's not like they don't have the files already since they switched to digital sculpting.
It wouldn't bloat their SKU catalog. It wouldn't really deduct from their model sales / their retailers' gains.
I wonder how much would it cost CB to operate such a .stl store (time, effort & money-wise).

    Honestly? I'd love that.

Here's this month's new physical releases, and here's a selection of stl files you can purchase so you can print different arms, heads or other accessories specifically designed for these releases. And here's a list of approved partners that sell physical prints.

This seems like a good idea, but with some obvious downsides too.

Whoops, the triphammers are actually S7, for some reason the discussion of older (and usually smaller) TAGs had me assuming they were S6.
