Yeah, I've got a number of orcs, demons, and a couple of the zodiac models from Yedharo. Fausto's a really skilled sculptor and I like most of his Infinity work as well (Morats, Chaksa, etc). I definitely hope they use him for Warcrow as well!

Listen to the latest episode of Mayacast - Tom shares some info on Warcrow from the Adepticon seminar that wasn't in the YouTube studio update. I'm hyped!

Yedharo are pushing big into Siocast over traditional resin too, I'm sure they're comparing notes with CB on the process.

I do love the Yedharo sculpts. There’s something very primal and ancient about them and not just the animal themed sculpts. I’m going to have to pick up the demons stl pack when I get some extra pennies and print them myself.

I hope they’re talking with CB and comparing notes on siocast too.

There was a stream of the Adepticon seminar on Facebook in the infinity global community, but I don't have the link. It didn't really cover too much.

I skimmed through the podcast linked above to find the warcrow bits, about the only thing of note (around 55 minutes in) is that there’s a more cosmopolitan / mixed faction that isn’t specifically delineated on species line.

So, anyway it will probably follow a "Solid Core" of 4, 5, even 6 maybe "Starting Factions" (some "Fantasy races" and some "Just Cultures") that will then be some more added on. . .

At the very Inception of N1 the Factions of Infinity were Pan-O (Knights & Remotes, Shooting Centric), Yujing (Heavy Infantry, Melee Centric), Haqqislam (Medics & Stealth), Ariadna (Warbands, Primitive but Lethal Melee & Shooting), Nomads (Jack Of All Trades), whose generic Soldiers could be "Supported" by some few "Generic Mercs" that were unavailable for the Combined Army (Weird Alien Menace). . .

Only later the "Inner Differences" between Subfactions were heavily reinforced along with addition od ALEPH and, later, the Tohaas, along with Mercenaries even more diversified and structured; also the Combined Army grew exponentially; even with the addition of Mercs that were available BOTH for the Humansphere and the Invaders (Krakots, Aida Swanson). . .

Maybe also "Magic Users" could have a "Support Tactical Role" much like Hackers in Infinity; with also "Clerics, Druids and Shamans" filling the role of Medics and Engineers . . .

    . . . . .

But maybe CB will not choose to follow that Structure, either in the "Strategic Ruleset" of the Game or the Background of the Gameworld (such as NOT choosing to put a "Great Menace" against whom the other Warring Factions SHOULD unite, or perish divided; a Literary Trope that in Classic Fantasy usual is "Undead Scourge", "Daemonic Invasion" or "Green Orkoid Horde"). . .

There was one other interesting piece: player units can interact with NPCs, not just fight them, but getting information from them or something.

Now, I am not sure what we can decipher from this, maybe it will be just a fantasy version of HVTs, so mission specific elements. But on the other hand, it seems to me that this could be a strong indication of narrative elements, or just a clever difference between Warcrow and other strong already established games like, let's say Frostgrave, where creatures are always adversaries, if CB can pull it off (like with the AI deck in Defiance, but with more possible actions, and not just move or fight).
It would be interesting, if we could collect miniatures not just for making our team, but for NPCs as well (with their cards). And it would also make sense for CB in a business sense, as this is a tried and tested method that was used by FFG's Descent (2nd ed.) and their Hero and Monster Collections.

The guys in the podcast were also wandering whether Warcrow's system will be centered around heroes, named characters, just like Characters have quite a strong presence in Infinity now, and maybe even more so in Defiance (and in Aristeia of course). I would say it is a safe bet to say yes. As I see it, it will be probably a mixed system with character roles (Tank/Combat/Ranged/Support/Controller/Scorer in Aristeia; Warrior/Scout/Mage/Healer archetypes with many classes under them in Descent 2e; so something in between as CB sees it fit for Warcrow) for heroes, and something simpler for line units (like soldiers in Frostgrave) and NPCs/monsters.

Yujing (Heavy Infantry, Melee Centric)? I literally laughed at that. Where do you get melee centric from them? We get our ass handed to us by PanO MO, Nomads, JSA, SP, and Ariadna.

Sorry off track. I really hope they don't do just racial fighting stuff. So over done. Please mix them up a bit! I can see how staring with particular races make it make a little easier to for new people to understand.

You know Icewing Dale II ? In the game Icewind Dale II, plenty non-human races are grouped into the Legion of the Chimera. These component races are affected by the racism of the humans.
Considering that the factions in Infinity are not manichean and that the theme of racism is present in the lore of svalareima, this could be a suggestion for this kind of medfan combined army.

Something brought up here and in the Podcast was the subject of terrain. Part of the reason I love Infinity is also the cool tables. When I was adepticon, I though most of the non-infinity tables were pretty boring. A few good MCP, Star Wars, and all of the fantasy was bleh except for a few. Many had better displays for their figures than the tables they fought on. Admittedly I didn't get to see the whole show. So I'm hoping this game is sort of like Carnevale or Cadwallon, where it all takes place in a city or cities. So then we can make fun fantasy buildings!

GW is Polystyrene (PS), I doubt they ever used ABS, otherwise their plastic glue would fail with some models. However other brands of miniatures and some third party bases could be ABS (anyone remember "hard as a rock" batch in Infinity?), and would require stronger solvent glues (check Tamiya or Plastruct catalogues, eg) to fuse.

SioCastSL does not mind mentioning CB in multiple public places, and even interview them (FB 2022-03-07 16:40, recorded at ESSEN 2021, double checked, 21). CB (or Koni?) seems to neither call it what it obviously is, nor create a cute brand for it (like Reaper did with Bones USA, right?). Closing the barn door is pointless after the horse has bolted, but... hey, continue the thermoplastic confusion. Oh, wait, in the interview Belen said the forbidden word... twice (along Corvus Quality™). Maybe Koni missed the memo, or Belen will be sued for disclosing trade secrets. :-P

Yesterday TV showed Spaniards making boardgames with a mould that walks and quacks like Siocast., jump to 21:05 (also 18:55 for start of that company section, they work for other countries like USA or Germany, and 16:35 for a painting business). I hope it is not geo-locked, being a production of the public broadcaster.

    @Space Ranger

i was referring to the EARLIEST age of Infinity, N1 around 2006-2007; it started with Yujing stronger as "Melee Faction" as opposed to Panoceania as "Shooting Faction"; and yet at that age it started to be Knights against Samurai and "Wuxia Fighters" HI and Croc-Men against Ninjas. . .

Was just what was explained in the Fluff Blurb to signal something to newbies, not what was necessarily reflected in the EFFECTIVE Ruleset. . .

The S in ABS stands for styrene; I'm not a plastics expert, but I was under the impression there was decent overlap in plastic cements that work for both materials. In any case, those two materials are much closer to one another than, say, PVC or Siocast.

Ah yes they were a bit more then. But even then it was the Japanese that had the better CC than the Chinese other than the Shaolin.

Yu Jing was called the CC faction because its troopers got +1CC for free/cheap and tended to have more access to CCWs instead of knives. PanO got +1BS, Ariadna got +1PH, Haqq got +1WIP, and Nomads and CA didn't get stat bumps in that same way.

You can see this by comparing any N1/N2 profile to its Nomad equivalent (e.g. fusiliers/ghulams/line kazaks/zhanshi to alguaciles*, etc).

The Knights weren't prevalent until Human Sphere, which is when the factions diverged more, and then even more with Paradiso. By N3, some of those stat bumps are still there, but the "each faction has a version of alguacil/zero/mobile brigada, etc" is more or less done.

*In fact, for N1/N2, alguaciles were the "baseline" for building and costing any trooper. Start at that statline for 10 points, and then change and modify, adjusting the price as you go.
