Got a game in with mostly camo spam and a Jing Qo+Monk Haris, worked out pretty well, can’t wait to get more in. The monk duo/haris feels fun and good. You are losing out on impetuous orders though.

You get value out of the Monks moving more order efficiently with Jing that makes up for it. With that said, you can break the link at any time including after your opponent is finished their last order for their turn. So if the monks are in a position where they could move+smoke with the impetuous then move+cc with their irregular for full efficiency you could break the link then to make it happen.

We were playing Quad Control and I “won” by T2, but I was planning on breaking it for T3! Also monks being B2 for smoke throwing is nice.

This didn’t occur in my game, but with monk haris Jing Qo can actually be alright at hunting down camo skirmishers with C+ and the discover bonus.

I ended up playing Mindwipe against the revamped Starmada with the following list, and had a great time (sorry, on mobile, only have the code right now).

    gM0Md2hpdGUtYmFubmVyEyBNb25rZXlpbmcgQXJvdW5kIDKBLAIBCQCAhQEBAACF2wEBAACAiAEBAACAiAEBAACAjgEBAACAjgEBAACAogEBAACAogEBAACGIgEFAAIFAICCAQcAAIXcAQEAAICIAQEAAICGAQUAAIYBAQEA

Raveneyes are vile little critters, ended up with my Guijia getting bricked as it stood in suppressive over the consoles. But it ended up eating half my opponent's turn to do it and the pilot was able to get out and press the button, which allowed me to take care of everything else.

Liang Kai was an absolute monster, and him and Jing Qo managed to put in some huge work in setting up the win by eating every anti-materiel tool my opponent brought.

The nice thing about White Banner now is that you can pack so many existential threats to your opponent in one list without compromising much, and it's great.

So would it be safe to say that Jing Qo now has some good use available to her? I look forward to hearing more about how she fairs on the field :)

The that Haris option made her damn good. I was concerned that monk Haris and duo together would be a trap, but it works great.

Liang Kai only needs the duo though, save your Haris for Jing Qo or another option. He's not concerned about the burst bonus for what he wants to get up to, it's more for the smoke and a bit of insurance if he goes down and you want another monk to follow up on his rampage.

I just realized that an unmixed Ye Mao Haris/3-man core is going to be pretty good with +3 Disc and MSV1.

White Banner looks *fantastic*. I always loved monks and guilangs and the snow aesthetic and even painted my OG 2nd ed yu jing that way. But they were pretty dull before. Because the army has such excellent defense I feel it is not tied to a full core ARO and can play into mixed teams which is what I want sectorials to be doing. Wildcarding in a specialist sensor has been my dream for a while now.

I didnt know what this was and excitedly went to go look... what the actual fuck? It can't even wildcard or join any link except the one that really doesnt give a shit about an engineer

Jeong is an invincible Engineer so it's not a surprise he can't join too many links in WBA. It's not a big deal, though, for the same points you can bring a Ye Mao engineer into your Shanger link if you want to avoid the risk of your Jujak Engineer also being hacked. Not being able to Duo with a TAG is a bit of a sad face, though, 'cause that's where he shines.

So there's two ways this is helpful

    • You're still running Zhanshi+Shang Ji. Engineer for Shang Ji or linked hackers is useful, and carrying a repeater to help other hackers protect the link is always helpful.
    or
    • You're running a disposable Zhanshi core/haris to move up the table early and do some objective work in the middle of the table while the real meat and potatoes is a Shang Ji/Ye Mao/Jujak or some mix of the three (who can also all core now) hanging back to counter attack after your opponent commits. Jeong can drop mines while he completes objectives and moves a repeater into the midfield to further obstruct your opponent.

    [IMG]2 [IMG]1
BEASTHUNTER FTO (Minelayer) Heavy Flamethrower, Panzerfaust, AP Mines / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 9)
ZHANSHI Combi Rifle / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 11)
CHIEF JEONG K1 Combi Rifle, AP Mines, D-Charges / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 29)

    0 SWC | 49 Points

This is dirt cheap for a disposable Haris team. Jeong carts a Beast Hunter into position to be annoying and get in the way of shit, they can both drop mines while the Hunter breaks off to do his thing Jeong can just position his repeater somewhere super annoying after whacking a button for objectives.

In general you're underestimating the shit out of a mobile repeater in a sectorial that can threaten you with multiple WIP14 hackers under any given camo marker that hit you at the same time some invisible dickhead with a rocket launcher makes himself known.

So now you can use Ye Mao in a core. I kept making them with new haris but then thought this could be cool. Unfortunately no matter what it's a mixed team. But mixing with Super Jump Kai makes them a lot easier to work with. I could just leave it a 4-man core with Liang but here I added a TG Jammer. I could show him as Jujak, Shang Ji or other character wildcard..

    YĚ MĀO (Hacker, Hacking Device) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt ( ) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 31)
    YĚ MĀO (Engineer, Deactivator) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust, D-Charges ( | GizmoKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 31)
YĚ MĀO AP Spitfire / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 32)
LIANG KAI Chain Rifle, Light Shotgun, Flash Pulse / Pistol, EXP CC Weapon. (0 | 21)
TIAN GǑU FTO Boarding Shotgun, Grenades, Jammer / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 23)
    2 SWC | 138 Points

Anyone here done a haris using the Adil or Adil Crane Rank? I'm thinking Adil Crane, Shang Ji HMG, and then some rando to fill it out. The team does not necessarily really care about discover so it can wildcard in with a cheap Zanshi, a firewalled Tian Gou KHD or even a beasthunter if you don't care about the order being irregular.

Double 3-man team sectorials are where I'm at, and I think with all of the good ARO pieces WB can manage that.

Probably. I see the argument, though I think 30 points is a lot for that capability. Even after 30 games of Nomads this year I still don't value hacking very much.

Almost a full Super-Jump Core, but Beasthunters are in the Zhanshi team.
The big thing here is that they get Sixth Sense, which will remove the -3 for shooting through what is going to be a truly obscene amount of smoke that this faction can output.

I would probably reserve Liang to make more Shaolin non-impetuous. I'm theory crafting here that sticking a Shaolin in either a duo or a haris will be a reasonable gamble for putting up smoke for the MSV units in reactive. With them having access to cover, they are that much more likely to be able to stick the smoke where needed and Ye Mao have pretty decent quality weapons to use if they also get the benefit of cover.

-6 isn't it for shooting through smoke with MSV1?

Tian Gou does a poor job of holoprojecting as the HI. His MOV stat is wrong, and it's a dead giveaway because the two profile you'd put in that link carry tinbots which he doesn't replicate.

That said, I think you'd be better off throwing him out anyway and putting in a Tinbot Jujak. The link is missing something with multiple wounds and ARM to facecheck DTWs and clear them out.

Not if the target shoots back. Sixth Sense won't do anything for Ya Mao if the target elects to dodge

My point was you listed the penalty as -3 instead of -6

Yes. That's because the penalty when the opponent does not shoot back is not relevant in context of Sixth Sense. An MSV1 trooper being shot through a zero vis zone treats the zone as poor visibility, so for a simple Haris Ye Mao experiencing return fire that zone will be -3 while a 4+ Core Ye Mao will not experiencing a penalty at all.
It's a pretty huge step for the Hacker Ye Mao as well, of course, particularly since KHD Ye Mao and HD Ye Mao are now compatible in the same team

Uh come again? Was this in an FAQ or @ijw thread?

"Additionally, it allows the user to draw LoF through Zero Visibility Zones, applying a -6 MOD to any Skill that requires LoF. (See FAQs & Errata. Sixth Sense and Multispectral Visor L1.)"

As far as I can tell it's a -6, the same penalty as a poor vis zone but it doesn't say anything about Zero Vis becoming Poor Vis for an MSV1 user.

I don't have faq on hand but there is in fact completely different entry about msv1 considering ZVZ as PVZ if they are shot at. There was alot of confusion because of the entry you just quoted and the other one together. Basically if you have both msv1 and 6s you apply 6s first negating -6 from ZVZ completely. If you don't have 6s then you treat ZVZ as PVZ and apply -6 from pvz reduced by msv1 according to MSV rules. IJW had to also clear that ZVZ from white noise wouldn't turn into pvz and get reduced by msv1 and completely ignored by msv2 even without 6s. The entire thing is messy and unintuitive but considering fireteam changes less people will have 6s on their MSV1 so it's a slight buff for those units.
