Personal taste is a funny thing. I am almost contrary to your position. I think the Karhu looks pretty boring and just like another Vargar. On the other hand I really like the Nokken chick. Again the Blue Coat ... Blue Coats look great by definition, so I like this one as well. The Zeta is better than the original design (which was a massive fail) but still is only ... meh. Kitsune is okay, but it's not that I get the "OMG, i have to to have it."-feel. Wolfy McWolfface looks okay, if you ask me. It's just that I'm not into this whole Wulver-thingy, so I'll pass on this one as well. Marut is just an accumulation of extremities and stakes and doesn't do anything for me. Curator is just ... a static figure. Does not even look like an engineer. With the stats of the PanO engineers It's a wonder PanO TAGs are not falling apart just from looking at them. Uxia is a fail for me as well. Doesn't do anything for me. The only opinion we can agree on is Tian Gau. Solid miniature. Looking good. No overly spectacular, but a good looking Zero-G-Suit. That's just my 2 cents. Like I said, personal taste is a funny thing.
I was referring to the appearance of the TAG (with its two gigantic close combat weapons) and not its stats.
I read it as less of a pogo stick and more of a pilot seat, in which case the material between the pilot’s legs makes more sense - it’s just the continuation of the structure of the seat itself. We won’t know for sure until we can actually see the pieces in full rotation.
If they were going to make the pilot ridiculously vulnerable I'd have rather had it riding on the back like a motorcycle (and perhaps manually operating the gun) than hanging off the bottom in such an awkward, vulnerable and totally impractical way.
It totally looks like what Batman uses to get into the Batwing in Arkham Knight. He literally gets on something that looks like a cross between a pogo stick and a ski-lift and this drags him into the plane's cockpit. Seen here, used in this scene to connect to the car. The Batman design is fine. This Morat one makes about as much sense as if Batman was made to hang outside the Batwing as if he was payload.
I'm not a fan of Bultrak design either. "Let's create another armored fighting unit" "Ok, got it" "But let's put pilot on the outside" "GLORIOUS"
I mean, the pilot has feet on platforms attached to a middle structure and hands on a "bike steering bar". Can't get much more pogo stick, really.
I really hope Bultrak is still in render stage and not being produced yet, because they absolutely should change that pilot. Mismatch between the visuals and profile aside, I really dig the Bultrak. It's finally an alien tag that looks alien and menacing. Just... Pogo pilot was a weird idea that doesn't do it for me in this case.
Yep, not a fan of Bultrak at all. What gets me is the super wide stance, imagine the balance issues when lifting one leg.. the TAG would simply fall onto the pilots 'dangling-cockpit' and fall apart. Sadly, for sure it's already in production, I guess a lot of people are going to simply cut away the cockpit danglers section.
Familiar, however in my case it may be worse. As in: "I don't really like the old marut, oh it's going away, I'd better get one, I've bought one, there's a new one coming out".
Because Uxia is Ariadnas Joan of arc… and because we all need more of the shotgun toting psycho that is Uxia in our lives. Totally agree with many of the statements in your post. In particular I too love the new shinobu but I am confused as to the nodachi she’s wielding. It’s not exactly a ninjas weapon… but hey, she’ll make an excellent beast hunter if nothing else!
When CB asks their artists to do an Ariadna sculpt, and the artist isn’t paying attention, they end up with another Uxia. Even if they were trying to sculpt HI, if there are any mistakes they end up with an Uxia. That’s just how it works.
- Bad artist! Not another Uxia! You're now banned from sculpting Ariadna! - ... - Go sculpt me something Haqqislam. - OK. - So, what you got going there? - *proudly shows off a Hunzakuts* - ...
