As we noted in our social media update, iOS & Android apps can take a little bit longer to receive the updates because the app updates validations from Google & Apple are an extra process. We can only ask for patience of the mobile versions (but should be fast).
I can now make a Fireteam Chaksa. I'm happy. Regarding Tohaa, Fireteam composition hasn't changed much, just a few curious details like not using two Draal in the same Triad. It is indeed more complex than previously, but the changes are not big and the tables explaining the Fireteams are clear.
Ok. I must say I really, really like what I'm seeing so far. After a moment of getting used to new format everything is clear, much more so than the previous rules. Unified fireteam chart makes it much easier to remember who can link and how. One complaint I have is that after introducing a very cool concept of different fireteams granting additional bonuses - like Tarlok does - it stayed criminally underutilized. It'd be a great way to balance some sectorials and fireteams. But bottom line is that it's a huge change for the better, great work and thank you!
I think this will be a process of ongoing updates to fireteams. This just creates the framework to add things as factions are revisited and updated.
That is not really correct, while the fireteams can look the same or with more options, pure fireteams are more difficult to achieve.
Hopefully so. From what I'm seeing sectorial fireteams are more flexible now, though one needs to work for a unified Core and all the bonuses. Variable Haris number is another plus. And Duo was always available in vanilla, at least in N3 with its supportware hacking programs
Duo in generic armies was a thing that was in N3 with EVO hacker, disappeared in N4 and is back again without the need of an EVO hacker.
Hm... Funny thing is that in a way many things I wanted got realised. I wanted +3 BS removed from mixed but kept for pure. Sort of happened. I wanted less emphasis on 5-mans and with weaksauce +1 BS for a mixed five-man, fielding a 4-man will feel less like purpousfuly gimping oneself. I wanted fireteams to keep SS and maybe even get more of it to counter marker lists. They kept SS, and got +3 discover which is an inderect nerf to markers. I wanted more emphasis on duo (by giving it a meaningful bonus like SS). Instead there will be more duo due to vanilla inclusion. So sorta kinda. So overall I should... be glad? I have sooo many questions though. Like... do 3 Asawiras count as a pure link? (don't think so) Can u even have a link of 3 Asawiras only? (I'm not clear on that one too). However I feel the right time to ask those questions is when we get all the updates and pdfs. So right now I think I will shut up and wait for dust to settle.
Asawira don't have their own link options, so no; you can only attach them to existing fireteam (1x Muyib +2x Asawira for example), and they won't be getting pure fireteam bonuses. That's what I remembered
Which is fair enough, they are excellent and criminally undercosted as it is. I speak as a user of said unit.
Asawira example is correct, plus if the model that created the fireteam dies and the fireteam breaks, the fireteam cannot be recreated, of course if another fireteam capable model is around, it can be used to create a new fireteam.
So, at the end, only Morats get something with a fireteam type and nothing for the rest of the armies... EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED
Well, MAF is the current focus, and this can be updated at pretty much any given time... new ITS season? BONUSES! Narrative event? BONUSES!
What I like about the curent system is that it looks a solid foundation and allows fixes. I dislike that the added complexity means that for the tournament organizers (or the opposing player) is going to be more difficult (it was already almost impossible) to know beforehand any possible combination and if it was legal or not. At least now the tables are clear and allow to quickly check the composition rules, more important now in some mixed fireteams in caso some important member is down. All in all, I'd say this has been a great improvement to Fireteams.
So in Vanilla, who now get a bunch of Duo, they can be mixed? I can have a Su Jian+MBH or Guijia+Kokram for example? And thank you for making the troop clickable in the chart to got to the troop! Very helpful!
@psychoticstorm, a question; does a Wildcard (unit X) count as unit X for the purposes of minimum # of unit X troopers in the fireteam, or just for the purpose of getting composition bonuses? Example: WinterFor, Fusilier Fireteam. Fusiliers have a minimum requirement of 1 Fusilier, and can be joined by ORCs, Infirmarer, Hawkins, and of course Wildcards. Will Uma Sorensen FTO (Fusilier) +2x ORC be a valid Haris? Or do we need to include at least 1 actual Fusilier?
