The same architecture is used to make Hungries Regular and non-Impetuous, which is pretty darn powerful, and also suggests Fireteams no longer suppress Impetuous. One thing I'm not clear on yet is if an Oznat + Hungries is a mixed team? I think it is.
Technically, the Fireteam rules could do anything—grant everyone Parachutist because you’re joining up with some dude that has a drop platform; or anything. But the Hungries are also just a repackaging of old rules that used to be in a few different places. And in the video Bostria mentions the Yu Jing controller becoming similar. So it’s really a question of “What’s CB going to use it for?”
I mean the only thing they're really missing out on is +2 BS on a unit that doesn't give a shit about shooting so probably doesn't matter.
That's my big concern. This approach, though overcomplicated on the face of it, is actually a fairly nice simplification compared to the work of horror that is the current Military Orders Fireteams Chart without losing much of the versatility. However, nearly every core system element in N4 was an improvement over its predecessor before the army designers tried their level best to ruin it, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what transpires. Hopefully, it will be used to add flavour and edges to underutilised teams, smooth issues with mixing units that have unusual movement skills and help distinguish ever-more-similar Sectorials from each other. I fear, however, that they'll just use it to give more free buffs to any team taking the Unknown Ranger or whatever Aristeia! crossover they're hawking that week.
TY for the explanation which I've only just seen! Three things I don't understand; Why does a Hungries/Oznat team not get composition bonuses? Does an Armored Fireteam get composition bonuses? If Anyat is added to a Tarlok team, does she break composition? My understanding is yes, she can join anything but only grants composition to a Morat fireteam. If that is not the case then I am confused how wildcards work. Similarly, will she break a Tarlok team if every member is also a Morat? Cheers for unmuddying the waters
I know everybody loves to speculate wildly, but I imagine a number of these questions will be answered tomorrow when the rules pdf and full fireteam charts for all sectorials are available.
Best guesses: 1. Because hungries and Oznats aren't the same unit and don't have a label (like "Morat") that makes them equivalent 2. It's a Duo, no bonuses for 2-member teams were shown 3. No idea until I read the actual rules
Oh lol for some reason I got the idea there was a TAG haris. Super sad that Sogarats can't bring a little gang with them. TY for clearing things up
The answers are in Morat privileges slide. [Morat] trait grants fireteam composition bonus and wildcards in morat benefits from [Morat] fireteam trait. 1. Hungries/Oznar are definitely not the same unit nor have [Morat] trait. Gakis and Pretas need Oznat to form the fireteam and Oznat are maximum 2 which is not sufficient for composition bonus. Therefore they can never get composition bonus. 2. They are duo so they can't get composition bonus. If they could form haris and maximum 3, if you form Armored Fireteam with pure Raicho (or others) will get composition bonus but you won't get composition bonus if you mix them. 3. Anyat is WIldcard in MAF, being wildcard in MAF grants [Morat] trait, the [Morat] trait guarantees fireteam composition bonus. It does not say [Morat] trait only works on Morat fireteam, so I think she does grant composition bonus to a Tarlok fireteam. Edit: psychoticstorm stated that [Morat] trait also works in Tarlok fireteam, so the answer for 3 is Anyat grants composition bonus in Tarlok fireteam.
Given the firetem composition name is given by the fireteam chart a fireteam Tarlok should not be the same as a Fireteam Morat maybe its a simplification or an omission in the chart, given they said Uma been wildcard "Fusilier" in the video you should expect wildcards to either refer to a specific unit or a specific fireteam so Anyat been "Morat" should refer to the fireteam Morat only.
So, if I understand correctly: Tarlok Core with two Vanguards, a Dartok, a Suryat and a Kaitok gets both sets of bonuses (base size and composition), plus Jungle Terrain on top of it. Let's say I'd like to add Anyat in place of Suryat: 1) I can add Anyat to this core, but since her Wildcard refers to Morat Fireteam she does not have the Morat trait in Tarlok Fireteam, so the core loses composition bonuses (what about Tarlok-specific Jungle Terrain?) 2) I can't add Anyat to this core, because she can only be a Wildcard in Morat Core Which of these is true? Or is there some other possibility I haven't listed?
I thought the Morat trait wasn't the same thing as the Morat fireteam. Wildcards have the Morat trait so Anyat in a Tarlok would still have full bonuses. By the way, naming a fireteam trait the same as one of the fireteam types isn't all that great.
Cool cool. Judging by the wording of TriCore it looks like FT:Triad is now just a Haris. Possibly something similar coming for Enomotarchos? Are we meant to get the new fireteam composition document today as well, or is that further down the line?
Now all the Fireteam Charts are available in the Infinity Army App inside every vanilla or sectorial army. No more pdf's or jpg's with lists. You can find it here:
